Glad I could help. I spent a good amount of time just finding them when I was getting all the keys. This stage was one of the bigger reasons why I decided to make a video guide. Sometimes text and images just don't cut it.
@@samuelmauldin9131 Not sure why I didn't reply to this, but that's not a problem with you. I have Lost Impact memorized and images still don't cut it because stage assets are heavily reused. Being able to look around and use the previous area to figure out location is a neccesary step when everything looks the same.
@@reshawshid well what i was meaning by that is... well i have a bit of a mental obstical so to speak, if you want me to go into it further i'm not afraid to do so i've just had people other than myself use it as a crutch FOR me

Instead of helping me learn how to write, my high school resource teacher just pulled me out of my language arts class. Went to college and got a tutor, and found out I can actually write really well when someone bothers to explain how to parse thoughts. Really goes to show how much public school sucks. In any case, yeah, I get it. I can't create in any meaningful way, just edit and put together things that already exist. I can see why things like this could be a block, I'm just lucky to, somehow despite the previous issue, create a 3D map of everything around me in real life or in a video game, and that's how I was able to actually find some of these things. If I didn't have that, I'd probably be as clueless.
Easier to get the second key by homing attacking the button thing on the other side of the platform. You should get enough height to land on the platform. Fifth key I think you can get by hitting the spring at the end of the grind rail, rather than trying to navigate around the meteors
I finally managed to get that second key after hours of searching for a platform and random jumps, just by finding a way to bounce off the defense unit and onto the platform - I came here to see if it really is designed that poorly LOL
You're not crazy, it really is just designed that poorly. I still have no idea what the intended method was. Strangely enough, the key is actually easier to get in Expert mode, as there's a way up to it, but it doesn't count if you get it in Expert mode. Maybe the way up to it was removed from the original version of the stage but they never got around to placing the key somewhere else?
I haven't tested it, but someone else here suggested you could get up by homing attacking something on the back side of the platform. I'm skeptical given the nature of the homing attack in this game, but I've heard no better answers. My "official" magazine guide didn't have a better answer than what I did, and neither did FAQ's online.

Was able to get the spin dash to work but it was as frustrating as possible to do it. Great video
