One of my fears when buying a new handguard, is not being able to install it bc of the barrel nut. Do all aftermarket rails come with a barrel nut?
most will come with the applicable nut, different brands use different nuts, I have installed maybe 3-4 dozen, never seen a single one without it but I cant say for sure they ALL will, read the description on the product page it should tell you for sure.
@@jhondoe1483 I recently bought a lancer full metal and my questions can I swap the handguard just like I would on my real one since I have an old free-float handguard hanging around. Because I was told if I wanted to remove the A2 sight I would have to get a new barrel too.
@@esepinky13 it depens significantly on what you have, the actual reciver and hand guard meet just like a real steel, so yes you can swap the free float on however if the barrel has a built in gas block then you may not be able to use that barrle, keep in mind that outer barrel is cosmetic it isnt the actual barrel that the BB is in (that is a smaller barrle inside the outer barrel. a plane jain one isnt too expensive as they are not actually a functional part of the gun but rather a cosmetic. (many require a "ar wrench" to remove and install properly) [also just to be clear they are >>>>NOT "REAL STEEL" DO NOT FUCKING USE ANY AIRSOFT PARTS ON A REAL FIREARM EVER
There's actually a trick to remove the delta ring using only the handguard. But I don't recommend it, you need a lot of muscle to twist
Cisco is my fav for sure. :) im planning on getting into Airsoft, and I’ll probably be using this channel to help me pick out a beginner gun and stuff!
word of advice: for your first gun take the G&G CM16, just do it

Side note: for anyone who has a suppressor that is too wide to fit, you can get outer barrel extensions for like 8$ for a pack of 3 with different sizes, smallest I’ve seen was .75 of an inch. Came in handy when I wanted to doubly my barrel length but the inner barrel was just under an inch too long.

Make sure in the video about removing the stock that you go over mil-spec vs airsoft spec stocks. I got a couple of those nice G&G stocks from a boneyard box, but I can't put them on any of my guns because the G&G stocks I got are mil-spec, where my Avalon/Cybergun M249/etc are airsoft spec.
you can use a PEC box battery box (usually about 10-20 dollars) and rerout your wires to it.

@@nathanflannery3031 nobody said anything about battery types. I have changed compatible buffers on both my AEG guns, the main issue people have with making this change is battery placement. I was just sharing my solution.
@@jhondoe1483 Look at your first reply, you are talking about a PEC box battery box which has nothing to do with the compatibility of buffer tubes and stocks.
@@nathanflannery3031 again for the slow ones, the only delema most folks run into with swapping stock types is the battery routing, if you are smart enough to understand that about the way these swaps work, then I can't understand why you would even make the original comment about compatibility, my assumption was that your issue (as I pointed out) was the issue most of the younger folks I help with this have, routing the battery, hence my recommendation. If you understand why these stocks are "incompatable" I'm sure you can figure out how to swap them (again as I pointed out its not even remotely hard) the issue most have is battery placement after doing the swap, hence my recommendation to you.

Rule of thumb from real steel stuff is that your handguard should be approximately 1 inch shorter than your barrel. The barrel length usually refers to the very end, meaning it includes the threads. muzzle devices of any kind will sit behind the actual end of the barrel, which is where you can run into issues where a suppressor will bottom out on the rail system itself. 14.5" barrel = 13 or 13.5" rail. 10.5" barrel = 9.5" rail. Some manufacturers, like SLR, have cut it really close though. Like their rail for 13.7" barrel which is 12.9". Some say you can get away with 13" rail on this if your your muzzle device has a shoulder that is slightly further forward than most.
There are rails that have a wide enough inside diameter to fit a suppressor underneath the rail. For this you would have to know the inside diameter of the rail you want to use, and the outside diameter of the suppressor (or any other larger muzzle device) that you want to use.
I'm not sure what the standard is for airsoft stuff, but most of the modern slim mlok and keymod rails for real steel, are not wide enough to accommodate a suppressor inside the rail. So if airsoft companies are coppying the size of those rails, thats why you won't be able to fit them. It was more common for older rail systems to accommodate suppressors inside the rails, aka SD rails.

If u don't wanna buy an AR wrench, u can use a pair of plyers with one side wrapped in a rubberband for extra grip, works perfectly

If you grab the front of the stock adjustment button and pull down, gently slide it back until the stock is removed

Right easy way to align it is to use either a red dot sight or a long mount riser and mount it forward so the it can align itself when you screw in the red dot or mount then tighten it up
As an actual gunsmith who works on AR style rifles professionally, put your gad block assembly on before you put the rail on the barrel nut. This will make it easier to align and you don't have to put a gun at yourself

I like my free float quad rail so I am good.

@@cartagenaralpho.2087 Yes it is possible as long as you remove the triangle sight (if your old barrel has one) before installing a free floating rail.

@Cisco your a beautiful man but come on free float rails are a no go after a few aggressive game plays the outer barrel gets jarred and gets a wiggle to it put a barrel stabilizer in there plus a little blue Loctite on those set screws will be worth it but awesome video keep them coming..

I have a lt15SD gen2 and I'm wanting to swap the hangaurd(trying to go for a honey badger look) had the gun for 4 years and I'm just now starting to add stuff to it and get stuff for it lol and it's got a integrated mock suppressor to the barrel

Question, can i change the handguard, inner(with the complete hop-up) and outer barrel, its like G&P's transformer system, i mean is it practical to change prior to game day or just buy a diff.airsoft unit to suit the need.
I have a Stubby M4 and since its not a QC spring (old-ish JG gb) and not planning to buy a new rifle, so im thinking of buying a set (inner/outer, handguard, hop-up unit) and just change it before game day.
Planning to get a 13.5 inch front assembly to change my more or less stubby front assembly 🤪😆

You’d probably want to get a peq dummy battery box. They are pretty inexpensive and work wonders
