I tasted this wine. It has slight decomposed smell with little bitterness, sugarless juice type. Felt little "nasha," while having second glass of wine of 60 ml.

Wines are very expensive in India as compared to other countries of the world. They should be made cheaper without compromising on the quality for making it more popular and acceptable in the Indian context.

You told it was launched in 1999. Now I am feeling proud that I m one of the founder taster of Sula red wine. In 1999 I was posted in Punjab Ludhiana. On those days Ponty Chadda was selling his Silver Peg brands. I felt they are cheap. Basically I belongs to Hyderabad and when I enter in Wine mall in Hyderabad, they told about Sula and Grower son brands. I purchased each 5 bottles. So nice . Now onwards we regular drinker of Sula.

For your knowledge wines mostly red wines are not aged in barrels but in their bottles itself ..
Only a few varieties of red wine are capable of aging in barrels...
While white wines can is aged at some extent and also wines are perishable unlike distilled alcohol
It is mainly distilled alcohol which is aged mostly in oak barrels...
While most wines have an expiry between 1-2 to 5 years....
This Wine tastes like Buransh (Rhododendron arboreum) flower, which is found in abundant in uttarakhand kumaun region.

@@WinesGuruIndia yeah you should try, the original flavor not artificial packed in bottles. if you ever visit Uttarakhand (kumaun region) in summer, after crossing Bhowali, get out of your car, find Buransh tree( easy to find, large tree and big red flower) , pluck the flower if you dare, chew them. and say फूल देइ छम्मा देइ 😉😍

Rates differs as per the states.
Rates in delhi or goa or केंद्र शासित प्रदेश may be much cheaper then other states.

just tasted it ( Sula Cabernet Shiraz ) today for the first time. new bottle . just opened and tasted. bottle was in fridge. waited for 15 mins then opened.i smelled like beer .... taste was bitter like beer .... i had a fantasy about it that it might taste like fruit juice.... felt some similarity with Appy fizz red bottle . is it okay ?
True that this is the taste
It is very much possible that the wine is turned stale, maybe it was not kept properly, please check the year before purchasing, always purchase the recent bottled wine if you are in other state than the wine origin state in india.

Please try GROVER WINES are of extremely Superior quality. Technically moooooore moooore superior. Sula wines over hyped. Many wines of sula are slightly superior than bottled water. Specially KADU white wines are totally watery watery.......Tastes like flavoured water.
Except for few Dindori Shiraz, RASA all wines are of low quality.
