Oh boy, I see the Master computer brain sorting out the parts and problems with the chopper. Yes, watch those wet fields. I see a change in equipment in our area where farmers are starting to add tractors with track drives to their inventory. This weather change is affecting everything in our lives now. Good job on the earlage. Good to hear you've increased your silage amount. Another job to scratch off the list. Keep safe and God Bless everyone.

I have lived in MI my whole life and never knew there was such a thing as earlidge and I grew up on a farm and we had a silo that we filled every year with silage. Thank you for the education.
There's a difference between high moisture corn and earlage. High moisture corn is just the kernels ground up. Earlage has the husk, kernels and the cob ground up.

Mackenzie, just remember to use your mirrors all the time even when backing up the trailer, and when dumping make sure your on level ground and pull away from the load slowly and lower the trailer when stopped, but I know Mom has told you this and I know you will do very well, I have sooo much confidence in you ❤😊

Kevin ever thought about getting some 18 wheeler Enclosed trailers from auctions to store earlidge in. Buy 1 per year to have something extra to use for earlidge,hay etc. storage ? They don't have to be 100%,as long as it keeps what ever dry. Price of concrete,tarps that tear could be worth a few extra dollars and movable. Trailers with a (few) holes can be mended,usable for storage. As long as frame and 90% of enclosure is good. A brilliant mind as Kevin can come up with fixes. May not look pretty,but workable storage. Down in southern Louisiana ,farmers use round Aluminum small silos with a suction device to put rice,soybeans from the top in to keep dry storage and wait for right price to sell. My brother-in-law has 2 large storage Silo bins .
You guys have some nice looking corn! The corn around here in Connecticut was not that great this year it was so dry all summer and then we got rain after it was too late

I've always loved cutting hay, chopping corn & making earlage. THAT SMELL {to me} is better than all perfumes and just as good as flowers.

Most people call it high moisture corn.
There's a difference between high moisture corn and earlage. High moisture corn is just the kernels ground up. Earlage has the husk, kernels and the cob ground up.

The earlage is perfect moisture. Just looks dry due to the leaves getting hit by frost.
