The meta-ness of this is funny. The entire "flashback" was a chapter that chronologically should have been last week's episode, but it's clear they wanted a strong ending hook for episode 1 and decided to move things around for the anime. Showcasing the screenwriter's job irl as well lol.
Really tough situation here, I can understand angles from both parties here, wonder how it'll all be resolved next episode...

With the dark undertone the show has, it could get to the play writer commits Seppuku. But without knowing the mangas direction I think we are for now over the morbit ways that could go.

It sure seems that in today's hollywood and UK, they pretty actively disrespect whatever IP they get a hold off, though it's mostly super old IP's where original creators are dead. Some degree of modernization or bringing in new ideas and perspective's should be beneficial in theory, but I believe the audience scores and cinema bomb numbers speak for themselves. You are not a good steward if you add in agenda or belive yourself smarter than the original creator, Hollywood really lacks the humility you so often see in Japan's culture. Good think that this doesn't really happen with anime as far as I can tell,

It's doubly sad since GOA is one of the OG fan before the Tokyo Blade became popular, but Abiko-sensei treated him like he's just an outsider wrecking her work. Man, that has to hurt a lot.
The stage play arc is definitely my favorite arc from what I've read in Oshi no ko's manga so far. Can't wait to see the reactions to how everything will unfold😎🔥
The OP is genius in MANY ways but what stands out to me as ESPECIALLY genius is the "lack of Ai" which can be translated as lack of love but could also be meant as lack of Ai, the character

Tbh i can see both sides in this. She's being an introverted (which is kinda hard believing she is, but she is LOL), she doesn't know how to deal with people, so she comes off as the "villain" here, but on the other hand, GOA-san HIMSELF should talk to her, not passing the message through all those people. You see how DIFFERENT it was the message that reached him and what sensei actually said? Like, what is this LMAO
On the other hand, i agree with her, and THIS HERE is exactly what hundreds of marvel and dc fans don't get: IT'S OK TO CHANGE AND ADAPT THE STORY. I'm not going to watch a series or a movie thinking it'll be the exact same thing....but DON'T YOU DARE CHANGING THE CHARACTERS. The characters are the most important thing, being in visuals and their character/morals/behaviors. If you change that, then it's almost a failure imo. See how the Thor from the MCU is.....man is a complete clown....simply disgusting for people who read the comics.
But anyway....let's see how all this is gonna wrap up. Sensei.....she is a weirdo, but i love her character 😂

Nobody would actively seek to a make a work worse, I guess you've never read the Wheel of Time, Amazon did just that with it's live action adaptation.

I am on Abiko's side because she said they have changed the character's traits and personality. She would have been fine with just a plot change but not the characters she created. I can understand her stand on that.
13:47 That is the thing. Gao gave way to the producer's wished too much. If he is really a big fan of the source as he said, he should put his foot down when they wanted to change the characters.
14:57 Abiko already give way to them on the plot. She is not giving way for the characters, she is protecting them from this people who wants to rewrite them.
15:13 I don't think a character's personality will affect airtime. As Abiko pointed out, the characters are saying things that they would not say and do things they would not do. If the screen writer is good, I think they can find a plot that works without changing the characters. I think that Lalalai producer just want to produce his version of Tokyo Blade. Just like how Disney screwed up Star Wars.
18:04 Goa said he read the manga, but did he not realize he was changing the character. This is where I think he betrayed the author, and I think that is what Abiko felt and that is why she is so hard on him.
Felt bad for the script writer for some reason. Hope aqua reverse engineer this conflict like he did last time so everyone can have a happy ending 😂

I'm confused how not enjoying classical theater makes me a stereotypical american lol, it's just not something that has ever been super interesting to me, just in the same way that I don't like movies either
