First Visit Brazilian Embraer KC-390 - Replacement of the C-130 Hercules at Eindhoven

- On Saturday September 10th 2022, an Embraer KC-390 landed at Eindhoven AB (ICAO EHEH) in the Netherlands. This Embraer KC-390 company demonstrator is traveling in Europe and this time it is staying a few days in the Netherlands. The Royal Dutch Air Force (“Koninklijke Luchtmacht”) is currently flying 4 Lockheed C-130 Hercules aircraft and the Embraer C-390M is the anticipated replacement of the Hercules, with 5 aircraft.
On Monday September 12th, a test flight was performed overhead the Netherlands with the commander of the Dutch Air Force, Lt-gen Dennis Luyt onboard. The Netherlands is the 3rd European country to select the Embraer C-390, following Portugal and Hungary. For the Netherlands, the C-390 ‘Millennium’ will not be the KC-390 for air-air-refueling, as there is a large Airbus A330-MRTT fleet based at Eindhoven AB. The C-390 will be used solely as transport aircraft.

I'm impressed with that smooth landing gear reaction when touching the runway, it seems like the crew landed in a pillow.
The pla e is moving very easily anyway. Think it is a very suitable successor to the Hercules here 👌

What a beautiful landing and filming! Aviation is in the DNA of Brazilians, Bartolomeu Lourenço was the first Brazilian inventor and scientist, famous for creating the hot air balloon in 1709. In 1901, a Brazilian from Minas Gerais Alberto Santos Dumont built and piloted balloon "n.º 6" , with a 16 HP engine, made the first trip around the Eiffel Tower, receiving the Deutsch Prize. In 1906, his airplane invention "14 Bis", was the world's first "heavier-than-air aircraft" to take off, winning both awards in France and world prominence. In 1908, Santos Dumont builds the "Demoiselle", whose design would serve as a model for all the designers that followed and was the first airplane produced in series in the world. In 1945, Casimiro Montenegro Filho, from Ceará, presented the future campus of the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), in Brazil, the embryo of a high-level school in the country, after the creation of the Centro Técnico de Aeronáutica (CTA), in 1950. their dream came true with the creation of Embraer, the third largest aircraft manufacturer in the world and the largest manufacturer of commercial jets with up to 150 seats in the world, among other companies in the area of aerospace and defense. In 2009, during the LAAD defense fair, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and Embraer signed the contract for the development of the KC-390. The Embraer C-390 Millennium is a multi-mission military transport aircraft for tactical/logistical transport, in-flight refueling and forest fire fighting. First flight on February 3, 2015. FAB has 19 units on its order for the Embraer KC-390 Millennium aircraft. The Embraer KC-390 Millennium is manufactured in Gavião Peixoto, in the interior of São Paulo.
The first F-39 Gripen fighter produced by Embraer de Gavião Peixoto in Brazil will be delivered in 2024. Aircraft will be produced in partnership with the Swedish company Saab, the program started in 2013. FAB ordered 36 fighters.

@@psilocybe_reptiliensis yes, that is a refueling probe to REVO (in-flight refuel) using probe-and-drogue systems. There is some plans to adapt a UARSSI to receive fuel by Flying Boom.
Flying boom would be the best. Is much faster in fuel transmission

nice ....is this the plane that the US air force wants to buy 182 units for the agile tanker program? to operate in combat theater for high intensity? if we read the requirements, it is fast, agile, has electronics on board, has passive and active countermeasures, I hope that australia will acquire some of these.

The US and England does not buy anything from Brazil, they will pretend that they are choosing better, it does not want competitors on the continent, even though the Super Tucano is the best light attack aircraft in the world, more modern, more armored, better guns, tested in several wars, they preferred to choose a mediocre aircraft.
The US bought Super Tucanos to send to Afghanistan and Africa and they really liked the great performance, (but not for their own country).
But US airlines love Embraer planes.
It's a honor for me Brazilian to have an avion manufacturing in my country

I agree with you. I live here close to Eindhoven which is one of the major transport airfields in Europe. If you just see how much is coming along on a daily base! It is very busy all the time, with good logistics you win a war, not with weapons only ;-)

The KC 390 exists because Embraer engineers discovered that they could manufacture a plane much superior to the C-130, more beautiful and at a much lower cost.
