- Skill Based Matchmaking (SBMM) has been a hot topic amongst the community ever since Call of Duty Warzone first released... But is it real? We wanted to do our own testing to see how much the experience differed compared to a typical match at our current levels so we each created brand new, free to play accounts and played a few matches to find out! @@giveitsome1 I concur. I am fine with it to a point, it just gets overdone sometimes I think. I love Doc's actual content but I sometimes skip when I think it's just going to be him rage swearing about the game audio or snakeshot or what have you.

@Mike Scully Taking out 3 people squad mode has ruined the game for me. Playing with two people against 4 man squads is way too hard imo. Duo's should be an option as well.
Yeah I just don't solo queue in quads. because teammates never pull their own weight and they're useless and they don't play smart

While the FATS squad will always be the best, I’m really enjoying your gameplay with other players as well. Watching all you Brits play together has been a lot of fun.

Zafir Minhaj It’s Fugglet, Aculite, Tomographic, and StoneMountain64. They played together all the time during the PUBG days. Fugglet hasn’t been very active on TH-cam lately. He recently moved and had a baby, so I think he’s not uploading as much.
Fugglet is uploading videos about once every 2 weeks, in case anyone wanted to know
yup, definitely sbmm. When i play with randoms the games are notably less sweaty. When I team up in quads with my mates who all have a KD of about 2, the game becomes a total clusterfuck. Shooting at one squad, third partied by another 4 man team you had no idea was there. It's not that fun. Also screw the sniper and shotty mode, bring back trio's or add duo's. Dammit activision.
Yeah I have the same problem. Not even enjoyable most nights at this point

One time I went to do this very thing and the load out stole my weapons so I wasn’t able to pick my gun up. So I worry about that every time now lol. Cod ptsd haha

This is of interest to me as I havent played any FPS since PUBG 5 years ago. I will humbly say that I was 'fairly good' at dropping the enemy, i picked it up quick and my first few games 'somehow' I took home the chicken dinner and then went on to duo teams again with success. However it astounds me the speed and ferocity of Warzone that its going to be a learning curve like EVEREST! I liked the 'practice area' in PUBG where I honed a lot of skills to 'parkour' into areas that many couldnt. Many RUSH the practice zone only to get wasted many times in a real game!!......on with the movie. As Sean Bean would say 'Let's F*ckin 'ave it" .....Loving the banter between you guys a main difference immediately is the presence of 'kids' on the talkback - in the more agressive games its clearly at an adult level and reaction times. The algorythms must take that into account?
BLIMEY thats a steep algorythm going from like level 1 with 0 XP to the next round and all hell breaks loose! EXCELLENT! I'll start off in solos always good for the blood pressure😂

There is 100% skill based matchmaking. Been playing on main account and about 2 to 3 games a day when playing we win. After the like 15th day...games were extremely harder, players killing me had Damascus and obsidian. First game on with a level 1 account and friends join my lobby. I dropped 26, both friends dropped 22 and 19. I don’t know what else to tell you but SBMM has to be a thing. Games we win now on my main account were barely scrubbing 6 to 10 kills a piece if we win. But for the first game for us in the new account to go like that just explains a lot.
I noticed you picked up a "Cage Fighter" gold blueprint weapon in a box early on, but it's not the same as the Cage fighter blueprint available for the m13 now. I wonder what that was about?
Can i just ask what is so bad with matchmaking? I mean it keeps casuals playing. Not everyone can play 8-10 hours a day. That what happened to pubg, players quitting because they cant match their playtime, including me. We have jobs and a life. Why would i buy a season pass if i just keep dying fast and not enjoy the game?
If you want the game to die fast, mix veterans with newbies. Only the veterans will enjoy the game.
That is very true. I think it act is matchmaking now. Most of my friends are not very good. They get alot of wins when They playing together. But when They play with me (im on pc) They do alot worse. Not becouse of the cross play, becouse They have it on all the time. But i got alot higher K/D than They have. And They have noticed that it is alot harder when They play with me. Wich does not make me a perfect teammate for them😅

really nice how you try out different thinks. i asked me the same question without creating a new account. and it is a question of time that some of us gamers dont have. i am a dad of 3 children and i only can play late at the evening for one or two hours. so that i wouldnt recognize it immediatly if it has an impact. thanks a lot. greetings from germany

Anyone think the tracers make people panic a bit? I’ve just got the purple tracer grau and wondering if there are any pay to win elements with the tracers. Or like tommy said if anything it hinders your visibility close range?

Bugs the hell outta me when he drops plates for his team and they dont pick them up. They dont even acknowledge him and say they're full or anything, just completely blank him lol they did that the other day in a video aswell.

To see SBMM in it's finest you should not only create a new account, but lower your k/d too.
I have a 2.8 K/D and a 1.8 W/L. And EVERY single game of Warzone is an absolute sweat fest, not one player is even close to casual. Everyone is soundwhoring, jumpshotting, dropshotting, Slide canceling and everything in between. All with meta M4/MP7 classes. I from experience and over 45 days played can say SBMM is in every mode on MW.

After the update, I'm getting matched more so with people whom I don't speak the same language with than not.
I think the SBMM in Warzone became stronger after the update. My KD has been consistently dropping even though I’m becoming a better player.

Play solo on plunder and I've found myself learning how to deal with multiple combatants and still come out on top. Hard when first trying it out tho so fyi 😅
Im 100% sure they put around the same level against eachother i got up to level 153 and 90% in solos i play is level 155 but my friend with free version still plays against level 50s

I've been tempted to make a new account to test because in 99% certain sbmm is real. Me and my brother are basically equal in skill, we've been playing since call of duty 2, we practice 1v1 on eachother more than playing multiplayer to improve our run and gun quick snapping skills. My other brother and my friends that I play with are pathetically horrible compared to me, if we went 1v1 I'd go nearly untouched and if we play reg multi I'm usually first place by a long shot, sometimes carrying the team. But "somehow" when they play without me they place extremely well in multiplayer and warzone but when I jump in we play with people that feel like fucking pros and my team has their head of their ass. My KD, my win ratio, spm, all that are the highest amongst the people I play with including my brother that is as good as me. Aside from all the fucking cheaters in the game it frustrates me that I feel like I struggle sometimes while my lesser skilled friends talk like they're gods in game. A couple have come to realise our opponents are stronger when I play with them. I am not the best by any means but I'm certainly far better than average, even so for the small amount I play these days compared to hours upon hours every day. I wish the developers would admit they do this. How could it hurt?

It really is based off of skill because I had a new friend and it was his second game he played and are team killed everyone like it wasn’t even hard but I think that it is a good thing so we are not snaking new people to the game then they stop playing
iMyles YT there might be a counter or something where players in their first ten games or so might be in beginners lobbies, then get thrown in with everyone else. It seemed similar in apex

Imagine being in a low based skill bracket, you try really hard to get top 10 only to be wiped out by 3 pro players who make money from being sooo good.
I love all three of you, just don’t agree with this whole smurfing thing, I think it’s really unfair on those genuine low skilled players.
The game would be fun because games will be random for example some games will be easy somewill be normal and some very hard... when bad ,good and very good players play same matches! In skilled based matchmaking that doesnt happen every game is fucking sweaty for every player

It is definitely In my KD is 1.50 on warzone and everyone I come up against definitely knows how to play the game to that level. I don't want to play against 150 players that are jsut as good as me.
I play with 2people of negative k/d mine is 1.72 with avg 4 kills 5 sometimes (not in game). And I am barely winning games.
@@williemafia4189 same when I first started playing I was getting 10 plus kills a match and winning all the time. But now I can barely scrape 5 kills probably win 1 game a week. You never come across another player that doesn't know how to play. So sbmm is definitely there. I just want to jump on and have a laugh with my mates, not have to completely sweat out every match. Should just have a competitive mode if you want to sweat it.
Super Lufc I know I played on a account with negative k/d me and my duo partner was avoid conflicts but by the end I had 15kills. Died by the storm and that one guy that won was nowhere to be seen by me while the storm was moving a second time.
I just feel that people are gettin better quicker than usual due to the lockdown, and also probably because this is a BR after many so people are also used to the concept already.

Il try my luck here , after the latest patch i havent been able to play the game , after landing in warzone i have around 1-3 minutes of gameplay before the game just closes and i'm looking at my desktop wondering what happend , even when playing the regular game i get disconnected half way through a match , does any1 have a fix for this? , my drivers are all uptodate and my pcspecs are:
Geforce gtx 1060 6gb , intel i5 4460 , and 24 gb of ram , i mean even at low graphics i still get kicked out x/
Seems like it could be a cpu bottleneck, but not sure. What are your gpu and cpu temps in game?

@@ralixjr hmmm, yeah that doesn't seem out of the ordinary then. I would almost say uninstall and reinstall the game. Takes way too long, but could work. Otherwise, super hard to diagnose from afar.

It’s their terrible servers. I’ve been having issues all night since the latest update. I’ve got the fastest everything basically. On console, though.
I’m sure they try, but for now they seem to be having trouble filling a lobby. Quads for 50 teams needs 200 people. I bet it gets pretty random.
Loki Nakor there was times last night when I got multiple games of 100 or less people in the lobby. Taking out trios and not adding duos was a horrible mistake.

The sbmm system is so frustrating.. i'll play 1 game and get 18 kills then play the next and get 6.. this is like the first 1st person shooter ive played since Halo in like 2005 lol so i know i gotta get better but it can be really annoying

How bout Activision just gives us the servers, meaning, we create rooms and ppl just join. Give us the option of what room to join, let us create funny room titles, clan tryouts, clan wars, & things like that. “Hey look their is a (FaZe) lobby, lets try to destroy them.” Give players a VOTE option to kick cheating players out and I guarantee you, warzone is going to blow up even more.

depends, would he be into slow games, or fast shooters, or this game? Adventure type games? Story based game?. It has to be his personal preference.

What happen to playing with aculite?
Without watching the video I would say to a degree. I normally average 5 kills (I play Squad Fill mostly) and last night for a few rounds I was getting double that or more then I started to just get worked on and was averaging 1-2 kills. Now I am back up to the 5-10 range but yes I think SBMM to a degree.

Skill based match making makes this entire game unplayable
I’ve only got one win because I going against sweats when I’m an average player what the heck am I doing wrong I’ve got good load outs and everything
This is 2 weeks later but I would recommend going out of your comfort zone and trying different ways of playing like going for recons or going for bounty after bounty

I just wish I could turn off cross play and have a fov slider. Pc has a huge advantage I don’t wanna play against them with sbmm. Now I get sweaty pc bums instead of sweaty controller. And I shit on sweaty controller kids. Good pc players are hard to win gun fights against in this game with or without cheats. I’m about to start cheating myself

When i bought blackout! 2 months ago i was new and playibg with players who were ogs and played since day 1... so there was no skilled base match making
Idk in warzone it feels like everyone is in my level! Well i do get 20-15-10 kills many times a day but still i have to sweat a lot its not like they are noobs evryone is so good and they all know what they are doing!
Skilled basdd match making kills online games and it needs to not even be in normal matches only in ranked... for the people who like to sweat in eevry game!

Bad/new players getting stomped no matter how hard they try is a much bigger concern than great players desire to not try very hard. If you dont feel like sweating, play a different game for a while. Games are designed to be competitive and balanced. Throwing new players to the wolves would definitely hurt the growth of the game.
As much as I want SBMM, The moment they Bring SBMM the amount of hackers will be uncontrollable. It'll be a ruin like Apex. There's no coming back from it.
