It's so awesome that this young man is into Elliott Smith.Before,while and after I was a heroin addict Elliott's music was there to help me get through, function and ultimately decide I wanted to live and clean up.Last week I ordered the cd version of the twenty-fifth anniversary copy of "Elliott Smith" as well as the "Speed Trials" single 45 rpm vinyl.Both came in the mail today and the remastered album, the art work, the commentary from Elliott's friends and those who worked on different aspects of his 2nd release with him are all fantastic and very well put together.I didn't discover Elliott Smith until after he died though I had heard of him for a few years before that.My first exposure to his music was "New Moon" and it blew me away.His songs continue to amaze me and I hear something new everytime I listen to any of his albums.Thank you for the review, since I bought the cd I was curious to see the vinyl release.Have a great day and enjoy your new record.R.I.P. Elliott Smith.... we miss you and hope wherever you are that you are well and have found happiness.......
Elliott , you made my evening much better. You're a great kid. I am completely surrender with your videos. You would love too know all those bands live in 90's when i saw them all live. please do! every-time i listen to him my mind is blown with his songwriting and composition. easily one of the most consistent and prolific artists of all time. every note feels perfectly placed within the song, the feeling his music gives me is a hard one to describe. most of my first reactions to his songs were that i didn't like it, but i urge you to give it a chance and if you don't like it at first i'm sure it will grow on you!
One of the best lyricists of his day...I liked him because he wasn’t pretty… He always look like he just got into a bar fight ...I knew so many girls that just flat out loved him and thought he was the sexiest thing that walked the earth.... I’d like to compare him to Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, Josh Rouse even the great Richard Ashcroft of The Verve in terms of his songwriting strength . 😎💚 I always liked the song “Stupidity Tries”
@@littlepunkpeople thanks bud! I saw Elliott Smith in 97 when I was fifteen and it was just him & an acoustic guitar. It was one of the best shows I have ever been to. I also saw his band Heatmiser's 2nd to last show before breaking up. I love your channel!
