I have never played Gran Turismo 5 before... but thanks to the power of RPCS3, it's finally time to experience what this game is like! (Spoiler alert: I liked it quite a lot!)

Gran Turismo 5 is the FINEST video game soundtrack of all time. More than 2.5 hours of some of the finest Japanese jazz ever assembled. Half of Gran Turismo's appeal really is just chilling out in the menus and relaxing.

Me too. Gran Turismo 5 is still one of the most successful games of all time despite Metacritic gave it lower than GT4. Only 85 on Metacritic. It should've been 92.
Gran Turismo 5 has really fun physics, relaxing menus and music. It really feels like an art piece, like a still life of sun-dried chillies on a Spanish balcony. I like it as much as Forza Motorsport 4 because what it lacks in polish it makes up for in automotive passion and "world travel" feeling.
And that's why people still listen to Gran Turismo's music and use it in all sorts of TH-cam videos. It puts you in that world. The entire package works together to create such a specific, classy identity.
How is the physics fun? The cars feel stiff and like boats. I love the game but Forza Motorsport has much more fun and realistic physics.

@@purwantiallan5089 GT5 is such a classy game. No game feels like it. It feels like a ps4 game tbh with the menus.
Now here with GT5 where Fail is a must and coffee breaks are more pain than GT4 CBT
this version of daytona was before it was repaved. It was cracked and bumpy. Delivering some awesome racing to be honest. The 08 version on iracing is very fun with the older cup cars. you can get insane runs and actually have to manage tire wear.

@@purwantiallan5089 not 2008 version of iRacing itself, but there is a legacy version of Daytona in the game that presumably was scanned in 2008. It's not used in any series but I think you still have to pay for it (albeit like $3)

Bad luck for you bro ,I have a 2060 super as well and the game is basically unplayable ,after Checking for solutions I saw somewhere that another dude had the same issues and also had a 2060 so I can only assume it's the 2060 causing the issues ,maybe it's architecture or something causes this ,all we can do is wait for RPCS3 to get more stable updates ,game has become SLIGHTLY more playable as I continue to update the emulator
GT5 and GT6 are both great. Obviously theres things wrong with both, but in the end they are both fun with a wide variety of vehicles and tracks. Been replaying them both recently. GT5 with only japanese cars challenge has been... interesting.
GT5 and GT6 both have the largest amount of cars that no other racing games can match.
I played gt5 earlier today. There is a cool out of map glitch on special stage route 5 that i spent way too much time messing around on.
Ayumu Uehara and Shioriko Mifune both also ever tried out "Out of Map" Glitch on Gran Turismo 5 before...😅

I think you should, if you want to check the new content and stuff, including many new event. While the economy still broken, the game is still as is, so if you wanted something really really new from the game, there's not much
This game is awesome, but with rpcs3 i've got too many problems. For example, mid game the audio dissapear and the only way to fix this is by closing the game... maybe i have bad settings but i left almost all at default
6:10 actually the game is 1080p60, but it renders at some strange resolution, I think it was something like 1080x1080, that's why cutscenes looked wrong.(emulation issue)
Maybe kuruhs was unlucky my cutscenes looked normal when I emulated the game
This makes me want to revisit GT5 again after losing my initial progress on my older PS3.
Gt5 is my favorite and any time it's mentioned ppl just automatically talk about gt4 instead. Gt5 is so good

Gran Turismo 5 driving physics and gameplay overall still way better than Gran Turismo 7, despite it came out alongside Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Anime Season 2, in April 2022.

Anyone know how to get this working? I ran without any issues for 10 hours, then i updated to the newest gt5 ver, (i did in in order one at a time) and now it freezes and desyncs non stop

GT 5 and 6 are great, specially some of the special events that they got! I remember racing a rally event in GT6 that I LOVED so much I did it 5 times(then my older brother sold the ps3). Polyphony should really bring these exotic tracks from GT 5 and 6 and also some longer tracks like rallys and long sprints someday, would really be awesome
also GT6 was the game where I started to learn the Nürburgring! today I almost only play on the 24h Nürburgring in gt sport lmao

This is the first PS3 game I ever played. At first I was mesmerized by the graphics. Plus the soundtrack was excellent but the gameplay did feel unfinished(ofc it's imperfect but so are we). Now I loved my PS2 as much as my dear life because of NFS HP 2 ,GT4, God of War 1 but I can't deny that GT5 felt amazing!
P.S. I really sucked back in the day. Childhood me would rage quit trying to get those licenses XD

Yep. I spent 500.000 attempts just to get at least bronze medal in Sebastian Vettel X Challenge, the hardest Special Event in the whole GT franchise. Even slightest off track in X2010 can cause you to "FAIL".
I play GT6 on emulator because I wanted to see what its like. And yeah its a great game with good contents and a still servicable career mode. But the actual racing leaves much to be desired: Every race ( apart from Kart races) is just a rolling start, where you are set at last place and have to overtake the whole field in 3 rounds ( 3-- lap- magic from GT4). They did this because the AI is super slow and an easy pushover. I played GT5 Prologue on emulator and even there the AI was stronger. Iam glad they try to fix this with GT Sophie now but GT´s AI was so lackluster for many years...
GT5 is often concidered " the worst GT" but I dont think its that bad, however GT6 is the better experience imho.
I've been trying to get gt5 to work on rpcs3 for the past 2 weeks, atleast 5 different iso's & ird's , followed tutorials to the letter and nothing. furthest I got was when rpcs3 was loading the ppu's for a few minutes then crashed.

fireworks are not always perfect on the emulator as it can only approximate floating point precision to some degree

I tryed like crazy to run this emulator but the performance was not there, there must be something in my graphics card that RPCS3 does not like very much. It runs, but poorly. Anyway, great video Kuru! I love this game too
Read the rpcs3 wiki page for the game. It requires very specific settings.

my first GT was the fifth one, i liked it very much, and then GT6 came out, which i liked as well
And in online, it was pretty much mostly drift/drag sessions, which were pretty fun, learned to tune cars there

Emulator needs more updates ,wildly unstable depending on hardware specs , especially a 2060 graphics card on GT games

Early PS3s were fitted with a 90nm RSX that would just fry itself (that was the main cause of the YLOD) so it’s common. It doesn’t even come from overheating, the issue is caused by warping from cycles of heating up and cooling down
GT5 is my least fave GT game

Gran Turismo 5 still 10/10 overall and dont forget that you can even listen to any anime soundtracks in GRAN TURISMO 5 via custom soundtrack. I spent 40hrs just listening Nijigasaki songs whilst looking at the cars on Gran Turismo 5, @KuruHS. 😊
