When you were doing the walkthrough showing the path and got to the ladders and doors, I thought it might be a problem. Lol. I did like the base design though. Awesome video
@zombyslayr6667 thank you! I want to do a solo tower with the ladders' style base. I thought there were a lot of areas for improvement with this one... Even though I couldn't get it to work how I wanted it to, I'm glad you enjoyed it!!!
@@RebelOnTheRiver yeah I think if going to do multiple fighting positions it has to be more like a corridor type. Just so you can fall back in case the main position gets overrun. Been trying to figure something out myself that I can build for multiple people but also can be done alone if needed.
Is that new?!? It used to be a 2 block gap that the zombies couldn't cross... my gap was 3 blocks and they were all hop scotching their happy butts over with ease.
I just find it easier, to have one fighting position. Build it to where it funnels them down to a single line. Set up the front with the crown 3 sided, and mow them down. I also leave enough room, to back up and toss mollies at them, without setting myself on fire.
Lol I honestly think that is the way to go. Having multiple fighting positions and multiple pathways for the zombies to find me, just seems to confuse them even further than they already are. Next horde base is gonna be a tiny one. One pathway in, with only one way to go... through me! Lol
@@RebelOnTheRiver I hear that. Unfortunately, I've not been able to play the update yet. I have gout in my left wrist, and it's swollen pretty good. I heards somewhere, that the AI pathing did get changed.
@edwardsimpson1164 Man that sucks about your wrist! I hope it feels better and gets better soon!!! For the past 3 months I've had issues with my right eye. Long story short, my body thinks my eye has an infection and the antibodies are attacking it. It's being treated professionally, but the doc thinks the light sensitivity is permanent. So at the most, I can only record an hour at a time without having too much discomfort... I usually do 30 minutes on, then a 30 minute break... I know how debilitating stuff like that is. Truly! I hope you get better soon!!!
Hey bud I saw your vids first time today and saw this and wanted to give some tips on current pathing and my 3.1k hours (sayeth steam) experience. The problem now is that when you cause a blockaide of zombies, the AI will see the zombies as a blocked path now. If zeds have been released from the AI handler; no big deal but if the zeds are still in the AI handler, theyll see a wall and attack nearest. Furthermore, the zeds when they fall can trigger a berzerked 'attack random thiiiings!' mode. This can be bypassed by having a ladder nearby where they fall and the AI will prioritize the ladder over berserked mode. The AI wants at LEAST a 3x2 passage in order to 'move freely' aka as intended. If this narrows, the AI will get stuck and initiate 'attack random things' sequence. Remove the funnel, allow 3 rods to balance on, put shotgun turrets against the wall on outside of fence. (Bonus points if you can fit a hatch for rearmament) and turrets are 1 blok now so just put em at the feet and they wont trigger demolishers very often if at all. Add ladders down where they fall near your wall and this defence will work flawlessly. Best of luck in future builds and I hope this advice helps! PS: 14 high is much. 6+5=11 and the zeds cant path you easily anymore. (AI still has issues with vertical pathing it seems short of ladders) You actually might consider being LOWER to the ground, initially with your Alimo 14high. 5-6 high is all you need to prevent DayZ style stackups. (I do 6 if you plan to fight from below with scaffolding which leaves 3-4 block below) So first two floors =11 block high, counting ground level. PPS: Or just put ladders near the large part of the stairway. Might be a simpler fix for most of your issues rather than a rebuild.
@shupichii9647 ill take all the advice I can get! I really appreciate it! I've only got like 600+ hours so I'm still learning everything, but I'm having a blast while doing it! This was one of the most elaborate builds I've made, I was hoping to make it successful, but I think starting from scratch using your advice is a better alternative! I think one of my upcoming builds, I'm going to revisit the idea! I screenshot your advice for quick reference. Thanks again! And I'm happy to take any other advice or suggestions on anything!

@zombyslayr6667 I've made a few multiple person bases. But they are usually a no fallback base. Very fun stuff!!!
The Olympic longjump champion zombies are a pain now...

@RebelOnTheRiver I believe so. I recall reading that they buffed their jump distance.
@Cletus.Jenkins oh man! I'm gonna have to figure something out! Some testing is needed lol

@@RebelOnTheRiver I appreciate it brother. Welcome to old age, I guess. Hopefully, you'll get straightened out too
@edwardsimpson1164 ill keep my fingers crossed for both of us!
This base was a STRUGGLE!!! I'm sure I could have gotten it to work, but the time it would have taken would have ruined me! One day... One day... lol
