Most complete video I have seen explaining the ride planer software. Nice job!

Good info to start with - I see there are a bunch of Parts to this, so will be sure to check them all out. Used the old H-D Ride Planner years back and found it very useful for major road trips across the Country, especially back in the days before everyone had a GPS or smartphone.

Hi Tim, Great video. I'm wonder if you can help me, for some reason after I create a trip and up load it to my Garmin (BMW Navi VI branded), the rout gets corrupted and is not what it looks like on my PC when I created it. Any ideas why this may be happing? TIA, Rob

Can creating the trip be done from the cell phone? How do you create way points?

Hey Tim. I went to use HD Ride Planner yesterday. Several things have changed. No longer do you have the choice for the "classic map" in the bottom right of the maps. In my opinion it was the best map choice for planning routes. Most like a Goggle map. Also, hardly any businesses show up now. Yes, even selecting the categories that HD provides. I even put in a specific address for a restaurant I wanted to stop at, and HD Ride Planner would not show the business. Only the address. Very disappointing. Do you have any updates, or a way to go back to the previous version of HD Ride Planner? Thanks in advance.

Since HRP is on the web, we only have access to the current version and features. My wife and I have abandoned the GPS in our Road Glides, because we get different (and wonky) results. We use Garmin GPSs and BaseCamp is my primary routing tool. I've done about 20 videos on BaseCamp. If you don't have a Garmin GPS, you might like Tyre2Navigate. I've done a few videos on that as well. Thanks for watching.

@@EZMotoTim Thanks Tim for the reply. I have actually watched all your videos on Base Camp. I actually have taught classes on the HD Trip Planner at my local HD Dealership as well. What I have found out yesterday after several phone calls. HD did not renew it's contract with the folks who administrated the Trip Planner program. Basically, no one runs it now. Once again HD has abandoned HD owners to save a buck. What I did was build a trip in Base Camp, then exported the file to my computer. Then imported to HD Trip Planner. That seemed to have worked. Maybe someday HD will once again take care of it's riders! Thanks for all you do! Ride Safe!

@@harleyjetdriver1957 Good information. By importing your routes to HRP you can share them with friends. That sort of sharing is not a feature of BaseCamp.

I think you'll find it pretty simple. Part 2 is ready for viewing.

I Downloaded the GPX file to my thumb drive but when I put it into the 2019 FLTRU the GPS says no file is found. The thumb shows the file is there.

The message you are seeing probably is the music player saying it can't find any mp3 files. Go back through the procedure to load routes to the GPS. Thanks for watching.

is there a way to upload GPX files from your PC? Thanks

Not that I'm aware of. It's designed to create routes manually. Importing would be a good feature.

How do I add a location using lattitude and longetude when a destination has no address??
