    I work at a dealership. That stock cooper s turbo looked EXACTLY like mine. Loose wastegate and all. It’s better to get a second hand decent mileage turbo, slap her on there, KEEP YOUR OLD ONE, buy an impeller end actuator kit, it’s actually not that hard and by the end of the day you’ll have a reconditioned turbo.
    Takes time, but if you’re on a budget it’s a good way to keep a turbo in your back pocket for back up.
    That being said, if you’re trying to make big power. The R300 or EBay turbo will get you that power more reliably as I’m sure OP of the video stated.
    Great vid my guy

    I have tte300 installed and it has been working for 6 years without any problems. the German company Schirra modified the engine and gearbox, the car has a power of 300 horsepower. they told me to pour Castrol 10w 60 oil and change it every 3,000 kilometers. I follow their recommendations and I haven't had any problems so far 😉👍Mini Cooper r56 gp

    Should do a add on description- each turbo, brand , size in - out in mm weight of turbos, if billet parts if they have them and what benifits the manufacturer says along with the for mentioned prices. Have you ever come across the F21m that a small shop in the uk has then took and even upgraded /strengthened and even upgraded lubes and bolts.

    Hi there , this looks like the best video ive seen on these turbos , im new to turbos , can you tell me if its ok to have actuator rod to lever play and adjust out . Im getting over boost !! replaced and tested both electronic actuators for waste gate and blow off with peugeot software. Can a worn acutator lever pivot point if it has 2mm- 3mm movement cause over boosting ??? thinking of replacing the turbo but it spools up fine has plenty of boost and waste gate is holding pressure. your thoughts would be great

    • @zevisgarage
      @zevisgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If it gets stuck maybe possible, but usually underboost is more common. Check the angle of the pivot, maybe lower the adjustment towards the downpipe for lowering boost

      Exactly what I was going to comment about being the best explanation video on the turbos for the r56 mini. I’m in the uk and I’m thinking about a r56 n14 mini, wanting to buy parts before I’ve picked the car up so I’m readyyyyy 😂 I’ve been a vag (vw/Audi) guy for a while but wanting a mini to play with. I’d be happy with 300-350bhp.

    The wastegate on that factory unit could be repaired for not too much money if you were on an ultra budget. A shim kit would restore it back to new.
    Honestly, the factory unit are practically bulletproof and serve their purpose well. Weak link is the diverter valve, but that's a problem with all modern day turbos.
    That eBay unit, you get what you pay for. Don't be surprised if the housing cracks, and you develop an internal leak. I had one of those eBay specials take me for a nice diagnostic ride on a customer car once. Heavy smoke at start up, the exhaust housing cracked, and was leaking coolant into the exhaust. 🤦‍♂️😭

    So I've got a manic tuned n18 cooper s. Full bolt ons and catless. I can no longer get a Manic tune/ re-tune/ stage 2 tune since the company closed, but I love the tune, I've had it for 4+ years and the little car flies.
    If I replace my turbo can I just slap a JCW on there without a re tune? Or should I just be looking for another S model. And would I would I be able to gain anything with the JCW turbo going that way?
