- Most of the footage in this video is taken from a "Cruise Movie" in Vietnam, where the footage was shot between 1971-72. I do not own any of this footage, and links to the full cruise video are linked below. ☟☟☟

I had fun making the last video, so I decided to make another montage of Vietnam War carrier-based operations. The planes in the video are A4 Skyhawks, A7 Corsair II's, A6 Intruders, and F4 Phantoms.

I was on USS America, CVA-66, at the end of the war (Sep 72 - Feb 73). Our Airwing 8, flew F4s, A6s, A7s, RA5Cs, and the usual support planes and helos for the time. The video brought back lots of memories from those days. Thanks for posting.

Welcome home, fellas!
why is the f-4 not used anymore? i mean it's such a great plane, migs are like it's desert before the sukhois as it's main meal
@@lukajalo8635 well yeah sure its a great plane, since its enemy mostly mig 15, 17, 19, 21, but the thing about technology is they always evolving like right now mig 15, 17, 19 are also not used anymore instead they use mig 23, 25, 29 which is hard to counter with f-4, and thats where they make new plane like f-5, f-15, and f-16 to fight those migs and sukhois, also since theres of course always new technology like more modern missile or cannon instead of modificating the older model they create newer model instead.

So do I. An amazing plane, just like the pilots that flew them!
In my case, i think the A 6 and A 4 are cooler (in Brazil, we have an Embraer modification of A 4 with glass screen and modern stuff)

Finished with my woman 'cause
She couldn't help me with my mind
People think I'm insane because
I am frowning all the time
All day long I think of things
But nothing seems to satisfy
Think I'll lose my mind
If I don't find something to pacify
Can you help me
Occupy my brain?
Oh yeah
I need someone to show me
The things in life that I can't find
I can't see the things that make
True happiness, I must be blind
Make a joke and I will sigh
And you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I cannot feel
And love to me is so unreal
And so as you hear these words
Telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life
I wish I could but it's too late
Thanks

Such a good song
For sure
i was bout to pull up ph and beat one off than I saw this played it and this is arousing enough for me.
My Dad was British and went to live and work for BOAC in New York in '60. He married my Mother in '61 and she joined him. They both swore allegiance to the flag but I'm not sure if that made them full citizens.
However before 1965 it may well have been enough if they wanted to.
They left to live in Nassau, Bahamas in early '63 and had myself and my sister there. In '68 with a small family he was informed that he was number 115 on a call up list for Vietnam. He had already done national service in the Royal Navy and was horrified.
He went to the US Embassy and renounced his citizenship. I wish I knew whether my mother lost hers at the same time. I should have asked when she was still alive.
This is the perfect song
