My parents told me as a child, about this very sad tale which happened before I was born. 'Whoppy King' went on a vicious crime spree after the Palisadoes Road incident. It took a while before he was caught and finally executed. Thanks for the video, Nigel!

Nigel by your reporting of this is what I remembered sad but those were the days when you paid with your life when you take some one else's not like today where slap away is like a walk in the park. That was a very good time to be in Jamaica 🇯🇲. Keep up with great work 👍

Thank you for a travel back in time. I recall you visited Abraham Issa grave at Calvary cemetery. You mentioned that he was the first hotelier to allow black people in his hotel. Could you do some research on that aspect of Jamaica history?

I grew up hearing this phrase. I heard it from my grandmother. My mother used it also. They used to say ever since whoppy kill phillop. Meaning some long time ago something happened.

Confusing and somewhat hilarious when Jamaicans use "he" instead of "her."
I was told that those in rural Jamaica have that tendency. Interestingly, the switch is done with females, but not males.
Not surprised at all that he assaulted her. The young man likely didn't play dead, because he wanted to protect her. When I was a child in Jamaica, I never heard of any violence. Maybe I was too young to know or remember. That crime happened way before I was born,
I like your manner of storytelling.

It was also from her that I realized that Montegonians do not consider themselves 'country folk', but to others --- especially Kingstonians --- Montegonians are 'country folk'!
