Common F2L Mistakes

- Just some basic cases that I see performed wrong quite a bit. Nothing too fancy; it's really for beginners. Please let me know if you want to see more tutorial kind of videos, and if so which ones you want to see.

0:48 - Top 2 colours are the same, white facing you.
1:23 - Top 2 colours are the same, white facing you. (Mirror)
1:45 - White on top, edge colour the same as the corner on the right. (no matching stickers)
2:38 - Front colours are the same, white on top.
3:47 - Edge is solved, and the corner is above the solved edge. (triple sexy really easy)

I like doing reverse sexy far more than sexy. So I just do triple reverse sexy for that case.

Same, and it's also less moves if you start with the corner on the left side so you don't have to do a u :)

I found some of these on my own while learning intuitive f2l. The only one I had to search for back then was the last one. So I thought that these were obvious to someone learning intuitive. I guess I was just lucky to find those ways of inserting.
This was a VERY helpful video, I have been hardcore struggling with other F2L algs. Tysm
For the last one you can put the corner on the left and then do a right sledgehammer and you will get a 3 move insert .

Thanks! These are the types of things that might not be obvious in an intuitive way and computer generated algs don't factor in grip friendly/2 gen factors for speed.
for this awkward case (1:50) you could also do a U + inverse sledge, to set it up to a threemoveinsert

for the third case i do this:
U' R' U' R U' R' U2 R'( to put back the disturbed pair ) R'(or R2) U' R'... flows quite nicely for me!

Drew, in the second f2l case where the white corner was facing up, you can move the piece to a free slot and perform 2 sexy moves which will pair them up

the last 2 cases are easy white-up inserts... seems faster to split the pair, and to the white-up insert than to do a triple sexy move

The first case that you said, I had started cubing for like 4 months then took a break and when i got back into it, I noticed that and felt dumb
Nice video! Personally, I think that you can do way better things for the 4th one. Put the pair in the back by doing AUF, then do R2 U2 R' U' R U' R2. You can also do L F' L' F R U R' but that only works if the pair in the front left isn't already solved. I hope this helped you! :)
At 2:40 I really like the case because it has one of my favorite F2L algs: R U R' U2' (R U R' U') (R U R' U') It can be performed and finger-tricked really well and easily.

for the second case you could just do the sexy move twice when it is facing you

The alg I came up with for the last case is U (R U R' U') (R U2 R' U) (R U' R'). I thought maybe it was shorter than triple sexy but this was the first time I ever wrote it out and it turns out it's the same number of moves.
2:25 you can put the pair in the left side and so the slot is in the right then do (F R' F' R) U (R U R') Do the F with thumb.

for the 4th case (the worst one) i use R U R' U2 double sexy
Yes I do it U2', so it's basically triple sexy with a U' after the first one.

When people do the first one wrong I cringe so hard lol that's literally one of my favorite f2l inserts and its so fast and easy and you can get some really nice double inserts with that case
For the third case (the bad one) I use R' U' R U' R' U2 R2 U2 R'. (If there's no pair in the back then you replace the U2s with U then U')
Another alg for 2:41 is
R U R' U2 R U R' U' R U R'
Same amount of moves as the one in the video, although I think I prefer your own in terms of execution
I'd love to see more of these tutorial type videos, drew, how do you solve this case? sets up with F' U' F U R U' R' U2, I use the inverse of this set up to solve it
depending on EO and how it's set up etc I do either U2 R U' R' or U' R U R' and then insert. there's other fancier ways too like U' l U' R U l' U R'.

In the 4th case do a Mats Valk position and do R2 U2 R' U' R U' R2.
For the third case:

it's just straight up 50k traxxas. This one only has a tiny bit cause I just cleaned it.

2:40 i have another fast alg for this.. I learnt this by just messing with the cube (intuitive F2L)
So the alg is: U F' U' L' U L F (insert)
This alg can also be mirrored.

For the first case, you can use U, sledgehammer, R U R'
For the second f2l case you can do 2 sexy moves to pair them
Nova Star that is what you shouldn't do
for the case you have shown in 2:24 I have invented an alg which is much easier for me and you will need to hold it just like in 2:24 and do R' U' R U' R' U R and insert
I use intuitive f2l and it takes me like 11 seconds to do it.
1:30 it would actually be good to do the long way cause a another pair gets made i the process
3:40 is U Sledgehammer 3 move insert so much worse ? ore what shell i do if i have this case buts it s not the right slot to insert ?
