This is a fun project for sure. Had same problems as you and mine I did not finish as I kept getting interrupted so decided to make more another day. I was thinking maybe one side just use interfacing so it’s not as bulky! IDK hard for me my hands are so crippled up. Bowl cozies a couple years back were a problem until I just started making 2 every day. Now easy. 😂 Thank sew much Holly I know how hard it must be to try and explain sew talk at the same time. You are an excellent teacher you have patience I wish I had, I’m better these days. Just Thank You 🙏 Thank You 🙏 ❤️ 🤗
Hi Holly I really love your sewing video's. Especially the little projects. I subscribed because I love your natural way of teaching. I'm only sewing for about a few months and have learned a lot in the meanwhile 😊 Can I suggest that I think it would be much easier if you leave a gap in the lenght of your lining fabric seam for turning. Thanks a lot and greetings from Belgium 😊❤
Hello again! I cant wait to make these! My husband was watching your intro with me this morning. Lol! The mind of a man! He said, "what is she doing (!) with priceless tone! Cant imagine...I think the music confuses ed d him!
Holly you literally made me jump when the pin flew up while sewing!! I love this little project. I made one before and I use it for both pints of ice cream and cup of vegan ramen soup cartons! It fits perfectly. These would be great gifts! Loved your fabric choice.
Hi Holly, a bonus video in the middle of the day, say it isn't so ! I forgot about the "mini projects". This is so cute - glad I could watch you put one together in a video. I might have to try it ! Thank you.
Holly, did I see this right -- the supply list footage showed that all fabric and batting squares were 8", but when you laid the batting square on the fabric, it was smaller than the fabric. So, was the batting cut smaller than 8" or was the fabric square cut larger than 8"? I laughed so hard when you got tongue tied about using swear words and later in the video when the pin popped out you snort laughed. I cracked up and ended up snort laughing too! I LOVE your videos and your vibe! I've binged most of your videos in the few short weeks since finding your channel. I bet I'm not alone amongst your subscribers when I say: Any interest in doing a Dandelion Stitches Marathon?
Holly. Thanks soo much for the icecream cozy tutorial. Can't wait to try it. I'm a beginning sew(er, ist)? But I'm still trying this. I'll let you know how it goes without having to add any cash to the cuss jar. Lol. Can't wait for the next tiny gift tutorial. ♥️
These are sooo cute. You can call them Cup Cozies. I do have one suggestion. After you stitch the "X", mark all 4 corners on both pieces before you start sewing any darts. That way it's not so fiddly when you try to mark the second set.
Also, yes caution to anyone who puts this in the microwave: everything should be 100% cotton. If you forget to swap out your poly thread in your machine for cotton, the cozy could catch on fire when your spouse puts it in the microwave when heating up soup at work (please don't ask me how I know). :)
Will a bottle of water or pop fit? I love them, I made bowl cozies with only 1 piece of batting and it works just fine, not hot with hot soup and not cold with ice cream in a bowl. Just trying to save some money. Thanks for sharing Holly, you rock, have a wonderful day.
Water and/or pop does fit. I've found they also work well with little hands. Gives them a bit more to hold on to. I need to make more now since all the grands want their own.

Great job,Holly! Thank you❤
I like it as a can holder. Will be making some.
Nice little project. An opportunity to use some smaller pieces of fabric.
I am starting the second week of a bad back spasm but I very much want to make this. Thanks, Holly!
Hope you feel better soon❣

Bonus video today! I use my bowl cozie all the time!
Nice to know I’m not the only one who sometimes swears while sewing😁
😂

The exterior and lining pieces are 8.5" so just a bit bigger than the batting. That pin attack cracked me up!
You did great!!!

❤ You are fun to watch and listen to. I enjoy you doing these as you are real ( as we all are not perfect sewers).
Love your new earrings. I bought some in black. Thanks for the Etsy link.
Wonderful lady you've inspired me to have a go at making one of these containers.
I will have to try this project.
I’ve always wanted to try making these

Very cute idea but i won't make it. To tedious for me. I have made the bowl cosies thats a good size for me. Thank you for sharing.
I make these also but I round my corners when I cut.
Can you round the corners?
I don't see why not. Great idea!

What sewing machine do you use?
It's a Janome Continental M8. LOVE her!
