I'm a graduate from '03 and I have to say this program was perfect for me, although I studied Film Scoring, i can honestly say the string department equipped my career future for sure! Thank you all!
I wish I could play as good viola as some of you can play the violin or the cello (or any other instrumen :D )...But I'm almost 15 years old and even if I start practising more than usually, I could never be as good as you guys are! Respect! Stay fresh ;)
Hey Berklee! It's been seven years since I filmed this video and I wanted to do a little check-in. I'm now currently a touring & session violinist and have collaborated with artists like Kygo, the Flobots, Jónsi of Sigur Ros and many more. Berklee nurtured my passion for teleporting between genres on my violin, and this unique and valuable skillset became the foundation on which my career was built. This past weekend I spoke on a panel at Berklee Career Jam 2023 about being a freelance musician. It was such a treat to be back on campus; I was immediately reminded of the magic that makes Berklee such an amazing place to study and grow as a musician. So I want to implore my fellow string players to seriously consider studying at Berklee-- You will learn so much and your life will forever be changed for the better. 🎻💜
+Berklee College of Music I will be auditioning with "I Giorni" by Ludovico Einaudi. Since the piece is almost seven minutes long, I've adapted a revised version to fit the five minute maximum for the audition. I really enjoy Einaudi's works, I just feel like they capture so much emotion and they tell a story. And I feel that the unique sound of the harp enhances those emotions! I'm very excited for the audition! See you guys soon!
+hem jimi Thank you for watching. What are some songs that you feel most comfortable performing? Please read this page with audition information: www.berklee.edu/admissions/undergraduate/audition
+David Çipriano, thanks for asking! The rule of thumb for a Berklee audition is to play something that represents your talents and skills as best as possible. So, "good audition piece" is a relative term. . . in recent years violists have successfully on audition repertoire ranging from concertos and sonatas (Walton, J.C. Bach, Rebecca Clarke, etc.) to R & B covers to jazz standards, traditional fiddle tunes, and their own original compositions. If you've got more questions, send me an e-mail (my address is on the string dept. page linked in the video description), and also check out this link about the Interview & Audition process: www.berklee.edu/admissions/undergraduate/auditionandinterview. Hope to meet you soon!
