I’m trying to embark on the same journey, by attending certain sports games across the nation, as well as the world (such as the Super Bowl, the World Cup, and the Olympics). With the pandemic still out and about, that’s been a bit of a struggle. In our house though, we have an old box containing political pins of the past seven decades, so there’s my first inspiration.
@@moniqueengleman873 Hi, Monique, Unless your 1980 pin is something unique, it isn't worth a lot as there were many Russian pins produced for those Olympics. Still it's a nice beginning of an Olympic collection. Take a look at the Olympin Club website and consider joining. You'll receive a couple of nice pins, newsletters, the names and contact info of all the others in the club, etc. We have a show every year, too. Pam
@@pioneerplpam thank you Pam! I will check it out. I went to Russia when I was 19 years old. I took boxes of Bazooka gum. I ended up trading everything I owned for merchandise. The little kids would see my gum and I would be surrounded by little boys with pins. I traded my socks for a fur hat, my razor for a flag, and many other treasures. It was a wonderful time.
@@moniqueengleman873 Sounds like a wonderful experience.! There's nothing quite as much fun as trading! Our next show will probably by in Colorado Springs in September. There's a new Olympic museum located there.

I like pins. It all started the day I bought an entire bundle of Disney pins for a dollar from the surplus shop. And it all trudged from there...
