I found your channel this morning. I’m in Central and I’m almost done with a bass boat refurbish. I’m so ready to get on the water and this channel is invaluable. What an absolute resource I’m sure some old timers are butt-hurt over you sharing this but I’m terribly thankful.
I’m glad you did! Any info I can pass along to genuinely help somebody who isn’t as fortunate to get on the water as much as I do never hurt me! Thank you for watching!
Hey buddy. I just ran across your channel and I really like it. However if you could show the closer that would be great. I'm just trying to get into livescope and I'm looking for all the content I can fine. Thanks. Keep em coming.
Nothing says crappie slayer better then a little business in the front and party in the back! Good video man! Those one fish was holding tight to the ghost tree! You caught a few tanks!
People say well LS don't make them bite that's true but there's no way more than likely u could catch fish that way with out it ive done it before with side imaging but your guessing where to throw its alot harder but anyway really like your content been keeping up with your channel for a while 👍
You could catch these fish without livescope, people been doing it for years. If I didn’t have livescope I would LONGLINE or troll for these fish. Livescope has taught me more about crappie fishing in 8 months than almost I have learned in my entire life. Thanks for watching!
The 93sv echomap is a great starter unit. I would get the biggest screen size you could afford is my only advice on that though. I just use the mount that comes with the livescope transducer that attaches to my trollin motor shaft. Hope this helps!
Wow good day of fishing. Love to have some clear water to fish. Here on Gaston in Va. it's been stained all fall and like mud now. Pouring my own baits doing PTC videos. Hair jigs are working good here now also. FLC
Thanks for this video, lots of great tips if you pay close attention. I live in VA. Open water suspended crappie fishing using Livescope and casting to them is my favorite way to fish. Would love to see you do a video on how you locate these areas to fish using a map before you get on the water. Would also like to see a closer view of your Livescope screen and how you are presenting your bait to these fish. What Bonehead rod are you casting with and a little more information, weight and hook size of the jig your casting would be nice. Thanks again for posting, this is one of the best videos I've seen on this technique!
Sounds like I need to do a video on narrowing down open water fish! So the rod I am casting with is a 7FT Bone Stix Crappie Rod that I designed it’s a prototype that I am testing for the real ones that will go into production. It will be called the CWC Guide Series. As far as seeing the screen I plan on getting a 12inch Garmin I can record from! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the quick response! Yes I would really like to see a video on how to narrow down the search for open water fish. I went yesterday and caught about 20 in open water, 3 over 2lbs, biggest 2lbs 8 ozs. Gotta love it!
Great Video! Can you tell me the make and Model of your Boat? Also where is the livescope Transducer located on your Boat? I often see guys have a pole mounted transducer with livescope? Thank you
I have a 2020 Sea Ark 2072VFX. My transducer is located on my trolling motor shaft. Unlike the pole I can fish for a fish that is swimming and fish for him the entire time without my hands leaving my rod! Thanks for watching!
@@ClearWaterCrappie... I've been there once when I was a kid with my uncle. But I mostly fished Santee Cooper and Murray cause of where I grew up . You think they have any 4 pound crappies in there?
@@WalkingOnWater 4 pounders is unheard of, a crappie that big is probably 10 years old so it’s rare, but I have seen several 3+ crappie already in that lake ok livescope, so I’m saying it’s possible!

How do you like that Simm's Challenger insulated jacket? I'm thinking about buying either a Simm's Prodry or Challenger insulated, but afraid the insulated will be too warm for the climate I live in; which is very similar to yours.
Best money I have ever spent besides buying a boat with a Suzuki 4 stroke. Lol seriously I have the bibs and they were so good I bought the jacket to match. I usually wear them when it’s below 40 degrees and take the jacket off when fishing until I crank the boat motor up again. If it’s extremely cold (30 degrees and colder) I leave the jacket on about the whole time. Only thing that gets cold then is my hands and feet!
@@ClearWaterCrappie I ordered one two days ago. Look forward to getting it and putting it to work. I figure I can use it for outdoor activities and hunting as well.
@@ClearWaterCrappie The coat works great. I've only been on the water once with it, but it was a windy, 36-degree day, and I did not get cold. It kept me sealed up, no drafts getting around it. I also used It a few weeks back when all of this cold air came through and left us a lot of snow. I layered up and put the coat on, but I got a little warm and could feel myself slightly sweating. Next time, I won't need as many layers. Still feeling the coat out, but it is warm for sure.
Enjoyed video. Following up on a previous comment about locating fish prior to using livescope. Are you saying you used side imaging to locate the bait, then used Livecope to locate the crappie?
Actually I used side imaging to locate both. You can see these schools if crappie on SI. Once you find an area they are concentrated I dropped my trolling motor and went and found them from there.
Very good video would have been great if you had mount for camera and could give us some closeups of the fish going after your jig, but again very nice and great fish.
The one at the beginning of the video was a 7ft prototype rod from Bone Stix Crappie Rods that I helped them design. It will be a CWC Guide Series for casting and dock shooting.(It is production currently) The other “long” rod was a 12Ft spiral series rod made for targeting livescope crappie. The spinning reel was a 13 Fishing reel, not sure of the model. The baitcaster was just a cheap one from Walmart.
Is that the lasted update on your unit? If so did you update with the black box hooked up to update both the 9sv and black box? It seems as if mine is not as clear after the update.
Yeah I did the latest updates and left it hooked up. I change settings depending on sunlight, water clarity, and depth. It changes all the time. I don’t mind he clutter on the screen sometimes you can see better (the jig and fish) if you turn the gain up and TVG off.
@@FishingLakeCountry yeah I’m a little disappointed that you can’t revert back to the old one and they’re pretty much done with new updates on the 93sv unit. The perspective view on mine is so blurry I can’t make sense of any of it. I wish I would have read some forums before I made the switch.
Another great video. You have become my favorite Crappie channel you are full of some great info. Do you think it spooks fish when you release fish back into the school? And Have paid attention to how much back wash from the troller affects the fish Thanks Brother keep the videos coming
I haven’t notice as much the fish going back to the school as much as ripping 2-5 fish from them and then their behavior changes. Thanks for the kind words and watching the videos!
Thanks for the great tips. You make it seems so easy. What length rod and weight of your line? Would like to see more of your shooting technique. Do you do crappie guide service?
Can you show how you found the school of crappie in the first place? I am assuming you used 2D, then went back and confirmed with the livescope. Thanks!
hey hey, my dad said he met you at the ramp today so I'm here.
Wendall Wilson! He was a super nice guy! Would love to fish with him at the hill!

Nice fish! If the creeks get rained/washed out, where do you look for the next few days/weeks? In the creek mouths or flats?
When it rains a lot I push further towards the mouths. Bait gets sent with the current and the fish seem to follow.
