They say playing/playfulness is a sign of high intelligence, especially in the aspect of social intelligence Corvids never cease to amaze me, like just think about it: They are literally doing what human children do on a snowy slope; slide/roll down, make snowballs, and move their bodies while laying down in it And this is a BIRD doing it Not only is it hella adorable, it's amazing to think that they hold enough intelligence to, without training, do something HUMANS do!
You seem to be underestimating a lot of animals. If there is intelligence, there is fun to be had. By the way, at the very start of the video it says in Russian "crows being high". If anything animals are having way more fun than humans, when we lead our lives in such a way that we start associating play, fun and relaxation with alcohol, meds and drugs.

Actually humans, those who have studied the concept, are exceptionally good at estimating animal intelligence. The confusion comes when the untrained observer tries to apply human emotional states to the animals' behavior.
There is nothing like a good snow day to have some fun! Plus it's a good way to get clean. At the beach in the summer I've watched them roll in the sand and make a loose sand pit and then set on a dead tree nearby and wait for bugs to fall in then swoop down for a nice snack.
Birds can fly but they wanna do fun things on the ground…like rolling around in the snow…and we humans want to fly and do things in the air lol….man always wanted to fly but these birds just wanna have fun on the ground…good stuff
Omg that is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen crows playing in the snow sliding down the car shield like it’s a hill absolutely adorable and funny❤❤❤❤❤❤😅😅😅😅😅 I like to thank the person who took the video thank you that is really special
This is one of those videos you can come back to whenever you need a reason to smile. The thing that puzzles me is not the fun that these guys are having as they roll and slide, but - what is that little treasure that the crow grasps in his/her foot? Is it just a snow ball or something else?
Crows have been known to hop inside cars, start the engine and drive short distances down the road. They've also been known to pilot small aircraft after pecking their way into the cockpit.
Crow: evolution can you give me a higher order of thinking? Evolution: to avoid predators? Crows: yeeees Crows: actually develop childlike desire to play in the snow
Many crows play in the snow. I actually witnessed one in real life for the first time today. There was a crow on the neighbors roof rolling around and flapping it's wings, flinging snow around. It was super cute
Birds need stones for their stomachs He’s picking out the pebbles from that snow ball so he can eat later The rocks help crunch and digest their food better
Those are my trained crows. I let them out to clean off the car windows before I need to drive anywhere. At 1:18 you can hear me whistle for them to do the next car. I'm trying to work up a commercial window clearing service.
One of them had a piece of shiny bling, maybe a bottle cap, or piece of foil. Regardless of what the object is, he had a toy, a possession , an object of desire...
They definitely use water to clean themselves as well as dust baths and sand, and snow, but Corvids are very intelligent they’re cleaning themselves here, but playing as well, they use tools, and will also trade things for food, a guy in the UK set up a contraption that Crows could drop a bottle ring pull into and a nut would come out and the local Crows would do this loads, they love shiny things anyway. Playing and playfulness is a sign of higher intelligence.

It’s amazing how much humans underestimate animals’ intelligence.
Nah, it's the uneducated commoners who do that. The observant and intelligent 1% already know this....
And overestimate their own
Absolutely. Corvids are exceptionally intelligent. They are adept problem solvers and have excellent memory.
Actually humans, those who have studied the concept, are exceptionally good at estimating animal intelligence. The confusion comes when the untrained observer tries to apply human emotional states to the animals' behavior.
To the contrary, I’ve known many humans who remark how intelligent animals are. Maybe it’s just the humans that YOU know.

I can't understand if this is sarcasm or not, but I'm assuming it is.
I've heard a story where a crow stole a semi-trailer full of peanuts and crashed it.
Not only that, some of the crows drive the cars straight to the closest chop-shop, for the money they get, they buy the nuts online.
