- Britain’s youngest knife murderers, who were aged 12 when they killed Shawn Seesahai with a machete, have both been jailed.
The killers, both from Wolverhampton, were convicted in June of murdering 19-year-old Shawn Seesahai, who was stabbed in the heart and suffered a skull fracture on the city’s Stowlawn playing fields on November 13 last year.
They were described at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday as “the youngest knife murderers” and are believed to be the youngest defendants convicted of murder in the UK since Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, both aged 11, were found guilty in 1993 of killing two-year-old James Bulger.

My kids were brought up with a single parent and no one had any issues with crime or police because I made sure there was discipline and I watched what they were doing.

Crazy UK neo liberal sentencing. These lads got a ridiculously lenient sentence for an Execution while a robber gets 12 years.
In the UK, children aged 10 -17 are treated differently from adults in the criminal justice system and sentencing is generally aimed at rehabilitation rather than punishment. However, this approach is no longer fit for purpose. The prevalence of knife crime and the willingness of some young people to engage in violent acts is endemic. In the US the approach taken is that there are indeed circumstances under which a juvenile can be tried as an adult i.e. the evaluation is made on a case-by-case basis and in heinous crimes such as the slaughter of this poor innocent boy, the offenders would be tried as adults and handed sentences as appropriate for an adult. This approach must be adopted in the UK now as times have surely changed.
No doubt it is peer pressure and bad parents. The parents also should go to jail! at 12 the parents should be in charge of what they can buy and look at when it comes to the internet.
Peer pressure and bad parenting doesn't make someone stab a stranger to death. Yes, the parents are somewhat to blame, but these kids should never see light of day ever again as far as I'm concerned.

With the last decade of disarray in this Country, Parents who do not feel confident with limited discipline powers, outside influence such as Movies/MSM sone pier pressure and a little too much of an era that threatens instability we will see mire of these happening.
We need a stable environment ( Country ) fir a starters, a Government that actually gives a hoot, stops investing Money in Wars, immigration, Diversity and wasted projects and puts it back into the people the better!

I can answer the ‘Why?’ question. It’s quite simple. Algorithms. If a good kid comes across vile internet content, they never look it up again. Because they know it’s wrong and disgusting. A good kid, that’s been bought up properly, knows right from wrong. But if a kid is interested, they look up more, and the algorithms kick into action, sending only that kind of content to the child. It’s digital influencing. How else do you explain the proportional increase in child violence with the increase of internet access to children?
Bad parenting is equally to blame.

What about that 80 year old man who was killed a few weeks ago while just walking in the park? What's happened to his killers who were also young. ..I think 14 years old?
I have many questions...were they from a broken home, what were their parents like...are they black or white...what ethnicity was the victim... how did they get access to a knife. Were they migrants or natives... what were the parents doing, were they at home or working. Have they been in trouble with the law before. This is not racist, but these questions need to be answered, no more cover ups either. Police need to be ALLOWED TO DO THEIR JOB. IGNORE THE RACISM ARGUMENT.

Why on earth are the parents not held accountable? They are most likely the problem, negligence, abuse etc something obviously is going on from the parents position. This will keep happening until parents actually get forced to be parents again. There was a reason why beatings kept me out of prison and made me respect my elders as bad as it sounds it worked, full stop.
Beatings are not the answer. We were beaten as kids, and my brother became very violent in his later years. It might have worked for you, but for plenty of kids it has an adverse affect and only convinces them that violence resolves problems.
This has been going on for yrs, the Conservatives refused to deal with this and has so is Labour. So dnt look to just blame the parents. The schools are not able to discipline the kids, they are told to molly coddles them. If a child is challenging, the government labels them with so sort of disorder, making excuses for their attitude and behaviour.
All the youth centres were closed down yrs ago as-well as other children’s services. These governments have been telling parents how they ave to parent their own children, if a parent wants to discipline their child, the state steps in and over rides the parent.
No wonder these kids are running around ruling the roast.
The criminal justice system has been to soft in handing out sentences, so this is the result of government interference.
