- चार सालों तक चला प्रथम विश्व युद्ध हालांकि भारत में नहीं लड़ा गया था, भारत की ओर से 11 लाख सैनिकों ने इसमें भाग लिया था जिसमें 74,000 सैनिकों ने अपने प्राणों की आहुति दी और 70,000 सैनिक हमेशा के लिए अपंग हो गए. विवेचना में रेहान फ़ज़ल नज़र डाल रहे हैं इस महायुद्ध में भारत के योगदान पर.

@@jasdeepsingh3340 : You know in this battle there was this beach and at the end steep cliff, on top of which the Turkish soldier with machine guns ( three people were used to fire the WW1 machine guns, that was so heavy that a mule was used to transport them). This beach was the ONLY way to land from the sea, so many battalions of ANZ ( Australia New Zealand) troops had attemted to occupy the beach but were martryed. On that beach there were three layers of dead soldiers when the battalion of my Great Grandfather landed on the Gallipoli beach. Everybody was martyred except about forty or fifty soldiers from GR. Every British officer was dead, except for a doctor and now my grandfather who was Subedar Major became the seniormost soldier to command. They took the cliff in night and surprised the 500 Turkish soldiers who were sleeping , and bluffed them into thinking there were many Gorkhas , not just forty of them. To honour this difficult victory, a hill was named Gorkha Bluff.
We were deprived of such Brave deeds of Indian Soldiers.

my great grand father from haryana who was in 2nd lancers( which became 1st armed or first horse ) died in first world war in france ! his name is written there on india gate till date ! then my grand father fought in second world war and won a military cross for his bravery , then my father fought the 71 indo pak war and retired as a colonel , and now my brother a retired colonel again fought with hte insurgents in kashmir and became battle casuality by loosing his right hand side fingers and thumb while fighting terrorists' back in 90`s in kuphwara kashmir ! presently my son in law is a serving major in manipur and my son is trying for cds :) jai hind !
