    Hello!
Hope you enjoyed our short summary of the Wicklow Way. We walked this trail in the summer of 2019. Here’s some more information about it, and links to everything else we’ve made about this trail:
    ○ TRAIL DESCRIPTION ○
    ● County: Wicklow
    ● Official length: 130km
    ● Start/end points: Clonegal, Co. Carlow - Marlay Park, Co. Dublin
    ● Number of days: 4-8
    ● Trail difficulty: 3/5
    ● Trail Quality: 4/5
    ● Views/area: 4/5
    ● Most common walking surfaces: Coillte forestry roads, boardwalk/bog bridge, trails and some small roads.
    ○ Stages ○
    ● Day 1: Clonegal - Tinahely // 25km
    ● Day 2: Tinahely - Mucklagh Hut // 28km
    ● Day 3: Mucklagh Hut - Brusher’s Gap// 31km
    ● Day 4: Brusher’s Gap - Knockree Youth Hostel // 27km
    ● Day 5: Knockree Youth Hostel - Marlay Park // 20km
    ○ Camping/Accommodation ○
    ● Tinahely is the largest town close to this trail, and it has indoor accommodation options.
As one of Ireland’s most iconic trails, there are many accommodation places that will happily drop and collect you from the trail, allowing you to just walk with a small bag of provisions for the day.
    ● The trail passes right beside Glenmalure Lodge, and The Glendalough Hotel.
    ● There are three camping shelters situated along the trail: Mucklagh Hut, Mullacor, and Brusher’s Gap (for more info on them, check out the wild camping blog post below). Camping along this trail is possible, but it’s important to respect working farmland, landowners decisions, and see our impacts on nature.
🌿 LEAVE NO TRACE IRELAND 🌿
Leave No Trace is all about knowing how you impact places when there - be it sports, waterways, hiking, camping - anything outdoors. It is so easy for us to damage nature and the natural environment, that it’s everyone’s job to learn how to take care of it, and learn the best ways to do things. This is going to take time, but if we don’t do it, there’ll be no nature left for all our adventures.

    ● Marlay Park is within Dublin city. The Dublin bus route No. 16 will bring you into the city centre.

Did you need a map or are the signs sufficient? :)

Generally the waymarking is really good, but you'd be advised to have a map just in case. We've made free maps for all of the trails including the Wicklow Way, you can download them at toughsoles.ie/maps!
