No complaints from anyone that have used the ones that I made. I don't have any complaints. I am going to stick with them. As for fragrances, I use Maplestreet and Lonestar.

    Hi Stanley,
    Always enjoy your videos, I have now a successful candle business and have used your videos as a guide to help prefect my own candles.
    I found it difficult to find the right sized wooden wick for my Soy candles, not only was it hard finding the best sized wick from wooden wick co it was also difficult to get a consistent crackle whilst using pure soy wax. Also I had alot of feedback from customers who never have burned wooden wicked candles about wicking out after lighting. Alot of people do not know about the maintenance that wooden wicked candles need.
    Could you perhaps do a videos showing the perks of wooden wicks and the disadvantages of them. Also different waxes or blends to use!
    Much love.

    Thank you so much for your tutorials they have helped tremendously. I do have a quick question. When adding 2 oz 4625 to the 6006, are you adding 14 oz of 6006 to equal one pound or are you doing one pound 6006 plus 2 oz 4625 totalling 1 lb 2 oz?

Sometimes short, sometimes heavy. For labeling purposes, it should be exact, correct? What to do with the ones that are short or heavy by .1-.2 ozs?

    • @sassyjones3981

      I stopped adding the exact oz to my labels for this reason. It's a handmade product, we aren't machines. I would clarify on your website/shop that due to the product being hand poured, the wax melts range between "x and x" weight. :) I do the same with my soap bars!

    • @oscarsmom9733

      My experience is 4-6 hours for a good melt (frag oil). If it’s a strong note like a cologne or musk, 8-10 hours but with varying levels of fragrance. Strong scents almost morph. That is typical and normal. Most bakery scents, your lucky to get 3 hours.

      It’s a little soft but I use it to make larger shot cup melts and if you add a little 4625 paraffin wax it makes it hard enough for clamshells and breakaways.

  • @Mark-vs9rk
    @Mark-vs9rk 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Dumb question for if a wax says it can handle a 10% fragrance load.
    Say I wanted to make roughly 100 ounces of finished wax at 10% fragrance.
    Would I take 100 ounces of wax and add 10 ounces of fragrance to it (9.091% fragrance weight)
    Or would I take 90 ounces of wax and add 10 ounces of fragrance to it (10% fragrance weight)
    Basically do you add 10% of the weight of the wax or have 10% of the finished product be fragrance?
    Your example of adding 1.6 oz of fragrance to 16oz of wax equals 9.09% fragrance in finished product (17.6 oz total)
    While adding 1.6 oz of fragrance to 14.4 oz of wax equals 16 oz of finished product with 10% fragrance oil by weight

    • @StandleyHandcrafted
      @StandleyHandcrafted  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is a lot of unfair bad press around paraffin and its not as bad as some make it out to be. You can find numerous studies that show its not as bad as its been made.
      You can still do melts in soy as well and its works great.

      Hi Jeff, awesome video, thanks! I’m curious about you putting the wax pot straight on the hot plate and not the double boiler method. I love this! Is this because of the particular wax you were using or can this be done with most waxes? I always have such a hard time with the double boiler and would love to be able to skip it if it works just as well without🤔
