  • Meet "Grandma", my 1994 Caprice Classic. She has a very low 70k original miles and an interesting back story. I explain the car's features and some of the differences between the years of the run of "bubble caprice" cars from 1991 to 1996. In the video I state 1990 through 1996, although the actual model years are 1991 to 1996, production began in April of 1990.

    Very nice! I own a 94 SS myself that I got two years ago for a steal price, 9k for 39k miles single owner. Though it's a bit modified now with a t56 transmission now.
    Would love to have a caprice wagon

      Wow..how much was that t56? If u don't mind me asking..I want 1 in my 96

      @@kimyajohnson692 can vary alot. If you can pick up an lt1 t56 for around 2500 with bellhousing and pedals that's decent.
      However most used lt1 t56s are worn out and most likely will need to be refreshed. If you have to pay a shop to do it then don't go down that route as the costs add up.
      At that point you go brand new t56 Magnum f, get the conversion kit to mate it to the lt1 since the Magnum is ls based. Then you have a brand new trans rated for 700hp under warranty.
      Part of the swap requires changing the rear gears to 3.73s or 4.10s, alum driveshaft just fyi.
      I went the used lt1 route. Paid a shop to refresh. They didn't do crap and ended up rebuilding it myself. Pretty sure I would have paid the same amount just going Magnum f or even less...

    Wow, thats a beautiful Caprice with low miles and it is just soo clean! I had a 91 Caprice Classic painted in gun metal gray as my daily driver for 12 years in Finland, I sold it back in 2020. Mine had the 305 and it had 220000 miles on it when I sold it, i put about 60000 miles on mine. I like the rear tire skirts and the interior better on the early models but the baby LT1 and the 5.7 LT1 were just sooo much more better than the 305 and 350 TBI motors, they just had more power and gave better fuel economy. I now daily a 2000 Grand Marquis that has 43000 miles. My Caprice had the police suspension, the dealer that sold them new here ordered every car with the police suspension. It was really nice to drive and felt more solid than my Mercury, I was planning of getting a 350TBI and stroke it to a 383 and make it wild but I never had the time to do it...

    Base model non LS Caprice. And a 4.3 V8. 5.0L TBI came out in 89 for Caprice. Also fun fact...the 94-96 "Impala SS" are actually all Caprices. Just have the WX3 tim package option.

    Have had a 1999 Buick lesabre and a 2003 century both served me well , now I’m looking at a 1991 caprice and I’m like damn the size differ in chevys from the 90s shit like driving a boat , but I love mid size cars that’s the thing about , or atleast I feel like I was there spiritually and hurt when they just down the factory’s and shut down the line of gms 3.8 and 3.1 in 2005

    How can I get a crankshaft position sensor for my 1996 caprice classic

    • @jetlagheroes7860
      @jetlagheroes7860  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Having a hard time locating a new one at the auto parts store? I'd try eBay or RockAuto. There seems to be lots and lots of supply chain issues for auto parts right now. If you can't find one on those sites, you might have to go and try your local self serve wrecking yard. Or perhaps an Impala SS or C4 Corvette forum...

      Well, I don't really have a comparison, but I can tell you this car does low 20's on the freeway if your aren't pushing it too hard.
