Before skill said anything: I have it, and I love it. It's not the greatest, but the clip potential is pretty solid and the standard pen isn't half bad either.
It's a big soft easy to spot target. However, it's relatively fast and the clip potential is good, making it a strong support tank for skilled players. In the end game it becomes very dangerous because it has the potential clip out the remaining low health tanks.
I always loved the lorr 40t, even bought it after people started saying it is bad. I just had it on rent and loved the game play. decent speed, gun and fire power. and i love autoloaders. Cheers Skill!
i averaged 3.4k damage on it during my rental time. I loved the 50 games i played in it but its a small sample to those who own one so iunno. I find the tank very similar to the gsor.
I am a autoloader fan too. Even my T71 DA is a fun tank to play and can ruin other light tanks day easily, but mostly all the autoladers, maybe as for an exception, Rhinoceronte, they are all weakly armored. AMX 50B is notorious for that and Kranvagen only reliable hulldown, but clipping someone is nice, always:P
Very true... Although something really slipped in this game, when they introduced Tier 9 and 10 light tanks. Something about the balancing doesn't feel right... They did destroy Ferrarri aka EBR as could have expected from the 'loyal old school players' who will start to cry when veer there is something new for them... good grief... @@npc204
Before skills says anything, I like it. Gun is trolly and platform is huge but the speed and clip potential is great. I will say though that I used to run all bounty equipment and switching to standard did make a difference in the gun for sure. If you have them and plan on playing this tank a decent amount I HIGHLY recommend bounty stabilizers. Also this is day SIXTEEN asking for Charlemagne:)
I have it, and I am trying to make it work (~2k dmg in avg.) The standard pen is good, mobility is decent, the clip potential is also quite awesome. My main and basically only problem with this tank is the gun handling. Same goes to Somua SM. If your gun behaves good, well u have an amazing time. But the gun says "NO" quite a lot... and if it is the case, you can scratch the wall with your own nails.
I struggle to make myself like this tank as well. Theoretically, it should be very similar to the Char Futur, but I find myself enjoying the latter much more. Also, as for t8 competition, I love my Bourrasque's speed and Astron Rex's dpm increase, as well as ability to play hull-down more.
This is NOT a Char Futur 4 in tier 8 simply because the Char has up to 230 mm of effective turret armour and not rarely bounces shots even from some tier 9 mediums. The Lorraine 40t is penned by HE. This doesn't make the Lorraine half bad, however it requires more awareness than the Char.
Char-Futur is so far the best 'Battle Pass'-tank and among the best Tier 9's anyway... The gun behaves unlike the gun of this lorraine 40t... They are completely different tanks and Char can even bounce sometimes... Lorraine never...
NEVER is a *bit* of an overstatement, but I get your point. They rarely match up to their premium/reward counterparts. But, there are a few exceptions...
in my experience, in every random battle, you lose while your team had more tanks (especially all Hts) rushing to the beach at the Overlord map than the enemy does.
I think that lorr 40 t has the same phylosophy as the t26E5: outdated tank for many reasons that can still work well in certain situations, they are also nice for credit grinding of you are f2p (bond storie tanks) , because the cost of projectiles (t26E5) or High standard Pen(lorr 40t)
Yeah the patriot can still do well too, good mobility for a heavy, with sturdy turret too and high view range. Sad the T32 and it's premium version are just better tanks that serve the same purpose, and other hulldown heavies like the Caernarvon aswell.
Lorr 40t was a bad tank even back when it was a tier 9 leading up to batchat. i did however enjoy it, even with all its faults but i wouldnt play it today even as tier 8. id rather play the AMX 50 100
Instant thoughts: i have this tank and for me i now much prefer progetto 46, it is much easier to play because u can play it single shot and choose when and when not to clip. The down time makes the lorraine much more complicated but it also gives u time to assess the map, the situation and come up with a plan for the next clip. Not ideal and i am not great in this tank but a good player can definitely catch people out and dump 1000+ damage into people. The intraclip reload also sucks when tanks like skoda t 50 and tvp are in the game.
i absolutely love lorr, i recently got it from the bond store because i wanted an autoloader i have 174 battles and i average 1.9k damage with 56% win rate which might not sound so impressive but keep in mind i dont use coffee or gold ammo at all, and i play rather risky and for some reason it seems for the most part to be paying off, my max dmg with it is 5.8k on cliff, it seems to be a combination of me being lucky i guess and my playstyle. and its not like am some amazing player either, i have around 2.1k wn8 favorite premiums Skorpion G, T44/100 and Lorr 40T hands down.
It definitely struggles, I think the intra clip reload could do with being dropped to like 2.25, and maybe a slight boost to it's aim time and accuracy buff. It's as big as some heavies, and armored like a light tank.
Yeah I dont know how people are saying it's their "favorite tank"/"always love it" in this comment section. I have 300 battles in it 2200 avg wn8 and the gun handling ABSOLUTELY stinks, even with bounty equipment. For the last 150 battles I have been constantly struggling to achieve the 2nd mark but every other battle, I always miss half of a fully aimed clip...even with gold...
It is one of my favorite tanks, I feel it is still very relevant. The high base pen, mobility and burst makes it my go to credit grinder (I have almost all the prems for reference)
I love lorr 40t, for me is one of the most underrated tanks. ATM my fav premium tank in garage. A lot of options in battle, but mainly im going heavy lane with this
@@latvius7600Play it smart, as a flanker and returning fire when your allies get shot, and you'll be fine. You can play like that with alot of mobile paper tanks in many maps and do well, especially autoloaders.
Ok my friend, but if I go with this tank to an Tier X battle, then no matter what this tank is utterly useless. Those only good games with it comes an full equal Tier battle or as a Top Tier and nothin else.
Its like amx 50b style, u just know when u can peek, when to trade and when to flank :) U can say ` but somua sm is like 50b` but not. For me lorr is closer to 50b, because u have mobility as 50b
Ok Skill, I stoped at the beginning to say that I have it and I like it, I used to LOVE old one in tier 9, but this one isn't bad either, it could use a buff, speed or gun handling or one more shell in clip for that reload since you always miss 1 or 2.
Last I played this tank it was part of the tech tree. I have no idea what its like now. I sold it back then when I moved on to the batchat. At that time I remember it being decent or even good I think? But keep in mind this was a very different time in the game. This is the time of the t57 and the batchat being active in clan wars I think. Hell this was back when the gold you got from clan wars was more considerable. Made the game feel much less pay to win back then.
Overlord - it never ceases to amaze me that even at higher tiers you still see lemming trains to the beach. The beach....you know the lowest part of the map, wide open, with three choke points to get off it. "Take the low ground" said no good general ever in the history of warfare.
best strategy ive found is to stick by the heavy tanks on your team. they will find enemy heavies, and you can use your good pen to clip them out while they have long reloads
Lorr is still amazing, stack vert stabs and rotation and its great. aiming device for close maps, optics, for others. Could probably run vents and prem consumable too but you need both the stability pieces to make this thing shine.
Im trying hard to make 3rd moe on Lorraine. Few days ago I was on 94.45%, but had a run of quite bad games, and Im on 93% again. But I will not surrender. I 3rd marked Char Futur, and it gave me great patience for Lorraine ;-)
I made mistake buying this tank in the bond shop. This tank was looking good on the paper, but it's completely not my play style, I regularly struggle with it. I thought it would be good enough because I'm really enjoying T71 DA. I feel sad because I play not that often, I spent almost all my bonds for this tank.
i got this tank for bonds. I used it in the last arcade cabinet and it did the job. and was very useful in the last frontline for me. it isnt a good tank but in special events can do the job.
Bought it 2 days ago now as i always wanted one and never had some spare money when it came into special offer. Depending on the situation and development of a match it´s still a solid tank in experienced peoples hands. But on the other hand you are right, meanwhile we have 2024, the gameplay is faster then it ever was before and the reload time for 4 shots as well as the dispersion values and the aimtime are outdated and you feel that they are 2016 style or so (whenever it got re-released as a premium, it´s so long ago). A bit of love would be nice, i think it does not need much to be full competitive again.
as asked skill, my comment before watching: Was incredible back in the day, that clip was terrifying, its get left behind a little in the current meta, gun handling can be an issue also.. BUT play it right its still a tank you dont want to get caught by, that clip is can still ruin your day.. be interesting to see what its MOE expectations are these days
I have this tank. My opinion on this tank is that this is a fine tank. Also I hate it when skill doesn't show the equipment that he put on the tank before the battle starts 😭
@@MW-te5fv - I'm sure. Which is why I said "probably". Knowing that some of them were updated a bit ago, but still most of them should be good. In addition, skill has several equipment load out options from other great players on there.
While it has no armor the lorrs design philosophy in game is that it is made to fight in close range with the same intent as the amx 50 100 that trades a smaller clip for a better reload and interclip. Sadly the Bour that is made for the same purpose is better at it due to having a smaller size, shorter burst and better dpm. Still the Lorrs advantage is its superior pen and having 4 shells in the clip can enjoy a lot of fires or ammoracks if you manage to hit multiple shots at the right location. It was one of my first premiums and to this day i still enjoy it a lot. But now i have way more knowledge about enemy reload timers and module locations compared to then. And it shows.
My viewpoint: Overall - Good for above avg players but a tough tank to work with. Pros: Great credit earner, fun play style Cons: Derpy gun, no armour, log interclip reload, outclassed by all new tanks (borat, progetto etc.), bad base view range (Optics mandatory unless u use food)
I bought this tank recently from bond store, and it is kind of a two sharped sword. There are games when i am struggling to do 2.5-3k avg but even in top tier you need to focus what you are doing to the maximum. I would say it is one of the hardest premiums in tier 8 because bz and borat are fuckin this tank up so hard and they are in every game
Lorr was my first love. Loved it. But since then others like Progetto46 has come and taken its place. I still take Lorr for a spin sometimes though i can't make it work very well anymore.
I bought Lorraine for bonds and I think it's alright and kind of outdated at the same time. Low DPM and clip size are manageable in long games. Clipping four shells each 300 alpha feels superior. Plus the penetration on standard shells and speed is decent. But DPM in short games is annoying and often you can't use the whole clip. Also the tank size, mediocre camo, gunhandling and being HE-Pinata are annoying. You can be easily farmed by BZ or Shrek with their HE. All in all you need to plan your game properly but having good games feel more rewarding
It's my main credit maker atm and I like it a lot, yea there are times where gun troll me and I'm not doing even 1 clip but overall I'm doing fine with it (at least fine for me, ~1,9k avg dmg, I'm f2p, playing without directives/food, with 2 gold clips for special occasions and bound eq)... I would say for every 4 decent games I have one where I'm doing ~600 dmg. Is it outdated? Compared to current top premium tanks for sure, but it still work pretty well for me and if it had just a little better gun handling it would be awesome. Would I still play it if I had Borat, Progetto or Skoda (the heavy one)? Well... I don't know, never played any of them. :P
0:00 Good morning Skill, it’s 8am and I have vacation, but I have a big plan today so I’m super ready but super early! 0:10 wanted this tank for a long time but couldn’t decide between 40t and Somua SM, still have none of them 😂
I like it. Those super high damage battles are very rare but somehow I manage to carry tons of battles because of the great clip potential and mobility in lategames.
Before skill say anything, I kind of have the read stats and figure out tank myself, do skill I am a f2p so a bond premium medium that is a weaker progetto 46 or borrasque is a interesting prospect besides that I am used to unstable good accursy guns (such as Liberte or Guard) from the stats I would say I would play it as a sniper in the forst part of the battle and after that Im going in like a battle tank (aka in the front) I don't know what to expect from this tank other then nice mobility big pen and big clip also really easy to be hit and as I mentioned unstable gun that need stabs but for me I think I will go with a setup like vents + stab + improve aim or rotation echanism, what do you think skill?
Nice how u Interact with us. Yes, it helps the algorythm, but it feels authentic, as well. I feel lorraine is kind of hard to drive, but still a very mich potent Tank. It surely dwarfs in comparison to Borat, but that thing is a true tier 9 in tier 8. Lorraine is a true tier 8 tank and has its place in the game
I had this tank for a week rental, and was kind of surprise as it was able to hold the line in today's meta. Was playing carefuly with respect due to it's missing armor, but if you choose right timing and victim, it can still be deadly. Played like 40 battles with WR 53% and 2,5k WN8 (2k average damage). Not that bad for noob like I am 😊
Meta changed with this since I had it, so playstyle had to change too. I play this like Panther 8.8 now like support flanker. Mobility is still fantastic.
I use it with vents, stabilizer and improved rotation mechanism, all standard, and food, to reduce the dispersion values of gun as much as possible. My crew have 6 perks, so thats a huge advantage too. With caution, patience and opportunism is dangerous like all autoloaders. Also dont have an horrible cammo value and is fast and agile. Is not an op tank but still funny to play with it.
This was my favorite tank for a very long time. In fact, I've been playing this game long enough that it was one of my favorite tanks WAY BACK when it was the TIER 9 tech tree tank in the French medium line. I was one of the eleven people that loved it even then! Granted, the power creep in the game over the years has made this tank much more difficult to play well, but I still have a huge soft spot for it -- much like the tank's armor has a soft spot... 😂🤣
omgg yeah I loved it when it was in the tech tree, they gift me the fv215b back as a reward tank when it was replaced with the s conq but not the Lorraine when it was replaced with the batchat line lol
@@danielsmith-el3pz - Huh, It is my recollection that if we had it researched in the tech tree, then we received it as a tier 8 premium? However, it has been a long time and I could have that wrong. But I know wargaming did that for many tanks that went from the tech tree to tier 8 premiums. FV4202 I'm looking at you!
I used to love the lorraine when it was tier 9 because of how good the acuracy was compared to the 50 100, when it became a tier 8... god... WG fucked it up so hard that it is not even funny.
Stopped playing 1-2 years ago but that was my main tank before borat and oh boy i loved it with all my heart. Sure it's not the best at anything but clip potential and speed are making it a pleasant experience imo
My opinion before video starts (per skills request): I bough this when it first became a premium (I still remember when it was a tier 9 tech tree tank lol). I love the Lorr, and I still have good games in it, but it is very outdated in the current meta. Equipment 2.0 did help a bit, but it’s very outclassed by current/newer premium mediums, the gun is super derpy and unreliable, and you’re huge with no armor (arty will miss you and still do 400+ damage). It’s a struggle to play, but It’s way better than the M4 Rev tho lol
Honestly, if I had to choose between to big pile of poops, I rather choose the smaller one which for me is the Somua SM. I know that it is a heavy tank, but for some reason these two tanks are quite similar. Compared to Lorraine, Somua has the same alpha, but it has +1 in the mag, and due that it is a heavy it also has some advantage on the armour side (not much, but it has).
It has a high skillcap to get the most out of it. Do NOT play aggressive. The armor doesn't hold up to it. I like to think of it as the fat, clumsy brother of the Bourrasque. I The pen value is good, the clip potential is more than adequate and it will punish over-extending enemies hard. Keep your HP together through early battle and during mid and endgame, trade wisely. Mobility let's you show up in unexpected places. Send your clip and relocate to the other flank. Gives you time to analyse the map, form a plan, get into position... rince and repeat. I think in good hands, cautiously played, it is a real threat.
Its in a better place then when it was a T9 at least, and when its T8 max MM, its a truly delightful tank. But, once T9+ armor comes into play along w/ the VR disparity comes into play where EVERY tank has 445m VR, this tank just struggles. Yeah it can sometimes shine, but I felt great getting a 2.5-3k combined game while working on my marks. Its perfectly average, but theres just too many other tanks that offer more comfort in the same role (Hello, Prog 46)
This and the AMX 50 100 need some gun handling buffs and they'd probably be decent again. If you're gonna have bad gun handling and a big clip, might as well play something like a Somua and at least get some armor out of it.
My 2 cents before Skill. I like this tank, i even used it in Frontline, but now its getting bit dusty, because of Progettos, Borats, Shpkt, Scorpions and other great tanks. Its getting hard to squeeze it into my tank rotation.
I used to love this tank but it does feel a little overshadowed these days. Its a great support tank and the speed really helps it get around the place to fill in any gaps or perform a quick flank and retreat. Gun is a little derpy so its not a fantastic sniper. 6/10 would play again
Lorr 40t is one of my best win-rate tier 8s I've got. Maintaining around 62% playing nothing but solo. I don't like spamming gold like all these toxic-ass tryhards on NA server do, so the 232 standard pen is a blessing. The gun handling is kinda meh at times, but other than that I don't mind playing it. Honestly I prefer it more than my Borrat. I struggle to keep around a 56% WR in my Borrat. To me the gun handling on the Borrat is worse than the Lorr 40t, at least it is in my experience. And since I hate spamming gold, that's also another reason why I don't like playing the Borrat. One other thing, with the Lorr 40t, and any autoloader I have, I don't EVER bother loading any high explosive shells. HE has been so horribly nerfed that to me, wasting 4-6 seconds on an intuition switch to try getting a full clip off a lightly-armored TD or light tank is pointless, especially when HE doesn't always pen even THOSE tanks. I'd rather just dump the AP or APCR mag into them and go reload. At least then, if I bounce then I bounce, but if I pen, I'll be doing full damage and none of these 19 - 23 - 412 - 0 clips I've seen with HE. EDIT: I play my Lorr 40t like a tank destroyer for the first part of the match, conserving as much of my health as I can for use in the late game where I can go all-in and dumpster wounded tanks. I can empty the whole clip, send them to the garage, and only take 1 or 2 hits back.
my first opinion it's a good tank and it's hard to play the 2 key makes it a bit easier :) you need to calculate your life choices with MOE which I'm doing the past days
I may be a minority here, since I played it when it was a tech tree tanks, when French has AMX 13 90 at Tier 8 and get this Lorraine at Tier 9 before progress to the Bat. Back then it's even worse than this as it is practically the current AMX 50 100, but at Tier 9! Sure, anyone with less than 1800 hp (which is practically almost every Tier 8 tanks in the game and some Tier 9 back then!) will likely get sent to the garage in a single clip if they were caught unprepared, and I shamelessly admits that I get caught by one several times too. But if they caught you reloading, you are also get sent to the garage before you can reload as well as it was a minute back then. (Even the current AMX 50 100 took almost 50 seconds.) Oh, and did I mention that back then AMX 13 90 can kill IS-3 in a single clip if the dice rolls even slightly in the favor, which isn't that hard to get with its 240 avg. alpha and IS-3 1500 HP back then. People crying so much about their OPness back then despite that version of AMX 13 90 get only 170 pen on their best gun. So much powercreep these days that 170 pen at Tier 8 is consider terrible by now.
I bought this waaaay back when it was new'ish. At about the 6 month that it was out, I think it was just before Christmas and new tanks were coming out, it went from a 64% Win Rate (in about the first 200 battles) tank in my hands to something much less. I went from hitting and pinning 4 of 4 shots pretty consistently to maybe hitting 3 and pinning 2. It was good before the unpublished stats were changed to favor the new tanks that followed it. Loved it when it was blessed by WG, but generally frustrated when it fell out of favor. It seems very out classed these days.
Uum, this tank used to be the tier 9, leading to the Bat-Chat 25t, but at some point (maybe in 2015-2016) got replaced by the B-C 25t AP and then Lorraine became a premium tier 8 (what a surprise). So it was technically never *new*.
@@veselindimov307 I started playing in 2016 or 17. I got the Lorr 40 at some promo event in Oct 20??. It was fairly new as a Premium. About the time it lost its "luck factor" was approx 1 year into that T8 Premium release. Not sure on the dates. Long time ago.
Before watching the video: Personally, I think it is still pretty good. Is it as OP as it was when it first was introduced? No, but it still has decent enough stats to get the job done in the hands of a capable player. I've long thought about getting it, but the price tag was always high enough for me to question purchasing it. Back when I used to see two, three, or even four of these things in a game... it was absolutely NUTS... or as Skill says, "BANANAS." After watching: I still believe it is a good tank. Skill was making all of the right calls. Even though it is a bigger tank and the gun handling isn't good, it is meant to be a support flanker. You rush in next to your teammates and then light up the enemy. For those games where you are spotting/alone, it still does a decent job.
I’ll never understand why teams keep going to the beach on Overlord map. There is NO benefit to sending majority of the team there and giving up control of the map. Even if they win the beach, they now have to climb choke points to get back up while, most likely, the enemy has majority control and can just farm you climbing up. I’ve seen loss after loss caused by lemming trains to the beach.
It's a challenging tank to play... Especially in the current meta which makes unarmored tanks less effective than ever before. But... It can be effective it does have a niche that isn't exactly filled by any other tank and I enjoy it when I play it. More difficult than ever to play, but I like it and I can't call it bad.
quit playing WoT 2 years ago. I always loved the Lorr 40t in Frontline, probalby still my most played tank there. stopped playing high tier randoms ages before I quit so I don't have much experience with it there.
Right at the start, the Lorr. 40t, like the M4A1 Rev., is good for credits, and that's the most important thing for me, as my WR demonstrates... Don't have it, and may never, but it looks a good earner? "Let's see, shall we?"
I say it is for high skilled players, it has a very large clip and mobility, sure the borrrrrrrrrat is better, but the 40t is much better at being a support medium/heavy with great pen and 1200 damage clip that doesn't take 5 years to dump in comparison to the astron rex. Then again being on the very skilled side of players it allows a bit of privilege in our opinions, its not beginner friendly, indeed likely more difficult to play then borrat, long reload, large, less camo, but can brawl much better because of the clip.
This tank still good i'd say. Nice for flankings and supporting allied tanks. The only real bad thing about it is the camo and derpy gun, and that makes it kind of bad in open maps, but the rest is pretty decent even nowadays. Lorr is a flanker and heavy tanks supporter for mid to close range, classical peekaboo hit and run tank. It gets the job done in maps with flanking opportunities. Also best tank from bond store imo. And good at ramming other paper tanks, since it is heavy at least 🤣
I still love my 40T. It isn't necessarily a tank that can carry a game, but I do well in it with consistent dmg in support of other tanks which have better carry capacity.
I am kinda begginer (12k battles) and I dont find Lorr 40t bad at all. I agree its average but I think gun handling is not as bad as you say, I am using standard equipments and gun is working. My record is 5.2k dmg and this tank make credits so its good for f2p players as well
The other day I had a Lorr 40t in my team, and the guy was marvelous. He carried the whole team and scored almost 5k. I find it very hard to play the Lorr 40t, but I guess that‘s because I am only slightly above average.
The 40T is a great tank to play if you want to know how to play French autoloaders. Sure the Borrasque is a meta pick and more capable than the 40T, but if you truely know how to use the 40T to support your frontline and flank, you can become a true menace on the field. The only thing that holds the 40T back is the large profile and the long reload. but other than that, its a solid tank.
Before skill said anything: I have it, and I love it. It's not the greatest, but the clip potential is pretty solid and the standard pen isn't half bad either.
Totally agree.
Not the meta these days but no reason that u cant make it work no reason that u cant love it
Pen is very good, but read my comment about the original above...
And I have this tank too so I have something to compare with...
I have it, 200 battles 2100wn8, and the tank just performs beautifully
It's a big soft easy to spot target. However, it's relatively fast and the clip potential is good, making it a strong support tank for skilled players. In the end game it becomes very dangerous because it has the potential clip out the remaining low health tanks.
I think exactly the same about it. You have to rely on others and brawl yourself at all... there is absolutely no armor what so ever.

Lorraine never...
good tanks are never in tech trees, they are premium or cost irl money
NEVER is a *bit* of an overstatement, but I get your point. They rarely match up to their premium/reward counterparts. But, there are a few exceptions...
in my experience, in every random battle, you lose while your team had more tanks (especially all Hts) rushing to the beach at the Overlord map than the enemy does.
Funny, because in my experience, every time you win the beach, you win the battle.
The intraclip reload also sucks when tanks like skoda t 50 and tvp are in the game.
i absolutely love lorr, i recently got it from the bond store because i wanted an autoloader i have 174 battles and i average 1.9k damage with 56% win rate which might not sound so impressive but keep in mind i dont use coffee or gold ammo at all, and i play rather risky and for some reason it seems for the most part to be paying off, my max dmg with it is 5.8k on cliff, it seems to be a combination of me being lucky i guess and my playstyle. and its not like am some amazing player either, i have around 2.1k wn8
favorite premiums Skorpion G, T44/100 and Lorr 40T hands down.
A lot of options in battle, but mainly im going heavy lane with this
Hahaha, go heavy line and get one shotted by BZ176
@@latvius7600Play it smart, as a flanker and returning fire when your allies get shot, and you'll be fine. You can play like that with alot of mobile paper tanks in many maps and do well, especially autoloaders.
Ok my friend, but if I go with this tank to an Tier X battle, then no matter what this tank is utterly useless. Those only good games with it comes an full equal Tier battle or as a Top Tier and nothin else.
AND IT MAKES CREDITS ONLY FOR A QUITE GOOD PLAYERS... who can play with everything anyway...
Loved the extra commentary on the last game...pointing out positions and strategies to possibly decap/carry is most appreciated.
Overlord - it never ceases to amaze me that even at higher tiers you still see lemming trains to the beach. The beach....you know the lowest part of the map, wide open, with three choke points to get off it.
"Take the low ground" said no good general ever in the history of warfare.
Lorraine 40t is one of my favorite mediums in this game
i believe at the end, the BZ was hiding behind the unspotted arty - that's why the first two shots missed
They just released it into Cold War on the console version of World of Tanks. The WWII version has always been a beautiful classic
best strategy ive found is to stick by the heavy tanks on your team. they will find enemy heavies, and you can use your good pen to clip them out while they have long reloads
Coming close to 3 marking Lorraine is impressive. Well done dude
His equipment setup is probably exactly as he has the tank outlined on his INDEX page to be fair.
@@CrossTrain actually I've seen tanks on which Skill has a different loadout than suggested on the index page
My viewpoint:
Overall - Good for above avg players but a tough tank to work with.
Pros:
Great credit earner, fun play style
Cons:
Derpy gun, no armour, log interclip reload, outclassed by all new tanks (borat, progetto etc.), bad base view range (Optics mandatory unless u use food)
Almost all of the old French autoloaders are outdated. Imo they would need a buff to their gungandling.
As Churchill said, “you can always take one with you”, even if I have a poor game in this, I typically get a free extra 1.2k dmg at the end of game
All in all you need to plan your game properly but having good games feel more rewarding
that lorr 50T who rammed you at the start.. made me remember why you lose games.
Lorr 40t Tip: *Use true french blood and raise the white flag before the battle starts*
Not that bad for noob like I am 😊
really glad you stayed in the last game for the high level commentary
Meta changed with this since I had it, so playstyle had to change too. I play this like Panther 8.8 now like support flanker. Mobility is still fantastic.
I don’t play the game over 1.5 year now but this one was back then one of my best credit printers
YES be sure we're always ready for our daily dose of skill
This explains today, I saw dozens of these.
They were rather rare, OP premiums, a long time ago.
Now they should have pref mm.
"Clickorus without keybordus"
Haha
My opinion before video starts (per skills request): I bough this when it first became a premium (I still remember when it was a tier 9 tech tree tank lol). I love the Lorr, and I still have good games in it, but it is very outdated in the current meta. Equipment 2.0 did help a bit, but it’s very outclassed by current/newer premium mediums, the gun is super derpy and unreliable, and you’re huge with no armor (arty will miss you and still do 400+ damage). It’s a struggle to play, but It’s way better than the M4 Rev tho lol
I love this tank whenever I can kill a full borat in a clip, but I hate it when the gun misses everything.
The pen value is good, the clip potential is more than adequate and it will punish over-extending enemies hard.
With the introduction of bourrasque it became outdated, still a decent tank tho
I had best battle on Overlord map with Lorr40. I was alone on maybe 100 hp vs 2-3 shot Defender :D He hit my tracks with his shot. Lucky as hell
My 2 cents before Skill. I like this tank, i even used it in Frontline, but now its getting bit dusty, because of Progettos, Borats, Shpkt, Scorpions and other great tanks. Its getting hard to squeeze it into my tank rotation.
meh was awesome when it came out then it got taken out. war gaming did their special treatment and came back a premium then it got power creep
(Even the current AMX 50 100 took almost 50 seconds.)
Oh, and did I mention that back then AMX 13 90 can kill IS-3 in a single clip if the dice rolls even slightly in the favor, which isn't that hard to get with its 240 avg. alpha and IS-3 1500 HP back then. People crying so much about their OPness back then despite that version of AMX 13 90 get only 170 pen on their best gun. So much powercreep these days that 170 pen at Tier 8 is consider terrible by now.
The last Lorraine should have tried to ram the arty. He doesn’t need to kill it, but just deal a bit of damage to the tracks to reset the timer.
Back when I used to see two, three, or even four of these things in a game... it was absolutely NUTS... or as Skill says, "BANANAS."
After watching: I still believe it is a good tank.
I have a great deal of respect for this tank because I've been hurt badly in game by it
It's a challenging tank to play...
By the way: What is the constant eagerness to drive on 'Normandy'-map to the beach... I call them 'Beach Boys'...
If I could work my tank as good as this,, I would be happy to just have only this tank in my garage. Good work man.
Right at the start, the Lorr. 40t, like the M4A1 Rev., is good for credits, and that's the most important thing for me, as my WR demonstrates... Don't have it, and may never, but it looks a good earner? "Let's see, shall we?"
Just my favorite tank in War Thunder!
If I had to buy something for bonds, it would definitely be lorr. It's pretty average, shame the french 100mm guns are all so unreliable.
I say it is for high skilled players, it has a very large clip and mobility, sure the borrrrrrrrrat is better, but the 40t is much better at being a support medium/heavy with great pen and 1200 damage clip that doesn't take 5 years to dump in comparison to the astron rex.
Then again being on the very skilled side of players it allows a bit of privilege in our opinions, its not beginner friendly, indeed likely more difficult to play then borrat, long reload, large, less camo, but can brawl much better because of the clip.
this tank actually a pretty good credit maker.
even im on loosing team, i make more than a winning team in a something like amx 30.
I used to love it, but haven't played it in a long time
This tank still good i'd say.
I think the tank still works and I like it. I got Bond Vert Stabs on it and it works for me.
I definitely noticed that this tank doesnt work that well for me anymore.
I am kinda begginer (12k battles) and I dont find Lorr 40t bad at all. I agree its average but I think gun handling is not as bad as you say, I am using standard equipments and gun is working. My record is 5.2k dmg and this tank make credits so its good for f2p players as well
keep it up!
The other day I had a Lorr 40t in my team, and the guy was marvelous. He carried the whole team and scored almost 5k. I find it very hard to play the Lorr 40t, but I guess that‘s because I am only slightly above average.
had a 6.3k dmg game in Lorr 40t against Xs on Lakeville encounter. Was surprising ngl
gg
I was used to be afraid of lorr 40t before, now it looks like a good farm
I love Lorraine 40 t from first day, from Tier IX..
Played the 40T and found it fast ideal as a rapid sniper. No armor is the week point.
Comment before watching. Had similar when it was a tech tree tonk. Was very happy to sell it but prefer single shot gameplay
I got this while it was in the tech tree. Always had fun with! Like it 😊
The 40T is a great tank to play if you want to know how to play French autoloaders. Sure the Borrasque is a meta pick and more capable than the 40T, but if you truely know how to use the 40T to support your frontline and flank, you can become a true menace on the field. The only thing that holds the 40T back is the large profile and the long reload. but other than that, its a solid tank.
I like it, best option of bond shop but that's not saying much.
Well speed is very good, it has no armour and gun is very durpy. But you can make it work.
I don't have it, but I'm afraid to buy it for bonds because of how much I hated the gun on AMX 50 100
Paused the video after 27s. I liked the Lorraine when it was the Tier 9 medium before the Batchat. That was the last time I played it so .........
Don't have luck with this gun. Was frustrating.
