Save me from myself is Hwasa and Solar's song. They've mentioned in this same vlive that they've practiced this over and over during their trainee days and the song means something to them. They also sang this when Hwasa appeared as a guest in Solar's solo concert.
Aw, that’s so cute! I bet they had lots of time to sing together and perfect it during their time sharing a room together. I’m so glad I stumbled onto this because I never imagined I would see them doing a duet together and sounding just like two halves of a whole. A HwaSun team-up was something I never knew I needed.

They did this during Christmas in 2016 and this was where Hwasa told Solar how grateful she was when solar decided to spend Christmas with her instead of going home because Hwasa had nowhere to go to. They stayed in their practice room the entire day rehearsing this and went home together when they experienced the first snow of the year. One of the reasons why this song meant so much to them. Hwasun is my favorite subunit but sadly, we rarely get content like this from them. This is the only live they have together.

Honestly I've never even heard of My Everything, this is completely new to me. I'm not typically a fan of ballads and esp OSTs because they're so melodramatic like you put it. Too much cherry-blossom-petals-falling-in-spring energy for me. But their voices here made me surprised I hadn't heard of it before 😳 also, speaking of OSTs, Solar dropped one called "Adrenaline" a couple days ago and it's nothing like a classic romantic OST. Dark and ominous and low-tones, very James Bond (kinda like Skyfall). She has a special clip on her channel but man.... I generally have your reaction to OSTs. Any Mamamoo related I want to hear but I don't usually go back to them. One exception is Solar's Bluebird from a few months ago. I find it enormously comforting. The one she dropped Adrenaline (this one on Solarsido) may also be an exception. I love the cover of Save me from myself though I usually listen to a different version from a radio appearance in 2014 that includes Wheein. I love when Solar gets to flex her alto range.

I love that Christina Aguilera cover, their voices sound amazing together. One of my personal dreams for Mamamoo is a Solar/Hwasa subunit, I think it would be epic! And I totally get what you mean about OST songs. Usually I won't listen to an OST a lot unless it's something that strays from that typical melodramatic ballad sound (something like Minnie's Getaway for example), but then there are some OST ballads that will really click for me if I love the vocals and the melodies enough. Jinsoul's is a great example, I've listened to that song a TON since I got into LOONA. While I adore Mamamoo's album ballads, I honestly don't come back to My Everything very often. I do listen to Wheein's OST ballads a lot though. There's something about hers that feel very special every time, even if she doesn't really enjoy singing them 😅
If you want to listen to more wheein doing ballads that are less dramatic yet soulful, go for shine on you, and with my tears from record of youth and hospital playlist. These two osts of wheein are mind-blowing and I am not sure if you haven't checked them out or not but if you do, you won't regret it.

Actually theres so many diverse kdramas but the romance normally get a crazy level of clout. My favourite Kdramas are (and I genuinely recommend them) are normally Crime/Corruption/Suspense etc 1. Stranger (S1 and 2) 2. Signal 3. Tunnel 4. Beyond Evil 5. Voice And more...
3:55 kdramas have all kinds of genres, i mostly watch crime or fiction, the action and production is next level, like my favs include NETFLIX's EXTRACURRICULAR & SWEET HOME, i really like like Prison playbook too, its an amazing world to explore; these dramas have more dramatic osts or even rap osts, like BEWHY's ost for sweet home is such a sick track! you should deff check it out, i hadn't commented about this since you didn't seem all that interested but i got into k-hiphop recently and i'm loving it. i never listened to rap before in my life but they make it so fun to listen to and its a whole other genre with a different artists all having their own unique colors. like u mightve heard loco on that track with hwasa or sik-k featuring on wheein's song, there's so many more, my personal fave is lee youngji and wonstein.... wow i got excited and ranted when i already mentioned u prolly wont be interested :P
Hip-hop uuuuusually doesn't interest in me, but not always! Depends on the beat honestly and the style of the performer. As long as they don't come off as obnoxious I'm all for it

Non-romance based dramas: Here are my faves SIGNAL - time travel + crime stories inspired by real-life unsolved crimes in Korea PRISON PLAYBOOK - goes from serious to heartwarming to funny to super hilarious without warning. This drama reminded me not to easily judge people. Bonus: Krystal from F(x) is part of the cast. SCHOOL NURSE FILES - needs its own drama category. It is weird. Trust me. Also, it's only a few episodes (8?) OSTs for this drama is so badass. THE GUEST - is not for the faint-hearted. It's about the friendship built by a priest, a policewoman, and a shaman... trying to destroy a powerful demon, even at the expense of losing their jobs and their own lives.
Agree, signal and the guest my faves all the time. And if u really like some kind of realistic or slice of life drama I would recommend My mister (IU). Super good

Oh wow, i'd seen the version of "save me from myself" with wheein but not just hwasun and...wow. esp hearing the story about it as mentioned in the comments here As for osts... i'm pretty much in the same boat but there are times i find myself needing to go on a mamamoo ost spree, both group and individual works. And some songs are also in differwnt personal playlists, like wheein's "with my tears" in a sad/relaxing one or the group's "wow" in one encouraging action or empowerment. And the two solar ones others mentioned really don't sound like standard ost fare, same with hwasa'a "orbit" though you can hear a bit of it there. As for non-romantic dramas...i swear even those that are focused on other things feel they need a romance subplot that gets a huge focus, sometimes to the point that it ruins the drama for me (i generally dislike and avoid the romance dramas, though there are some exceptions). One of my absolute favorote dramas is 'search: www', the one "wow" is for. It's about the interactions between three powerful women in a tech industry as they work with and against each other and does a good job of humanizing some of the villains (though not all) without trying to redeem them (though there is redemption, of course). There is romance and, while the main character's annoys me sometimes, it also feels so much more realistic than is usually depicted
There are all kinds of kdramas. Not all are romance centered. Korea likes romance...so there are a lot of them. The ost’s have all kinds of different feels too. Depends what part of the drama they are on.

I got Netflix to see the blackpink documentary and still have it. Theyve got lots of kdramas. I've only seen one so far, the kingdom. Its an amazing zombie horror show. But I started watching vincenzo, about a korean consigliere working for the Italian mob, I'm into it. If you boil down any show it does come down to some kind of romance. Got, Lotr, star trek.😂 I love anything mamamoo, they really are one of the most amazing vocal groups in all music. It was interesting during christmas when I saw solar's christmas medley and then caught Christina Aguilera on seth meyers afterwards. I dont know much about her but have heard her in her prime. Having heard solar and then comparing her to christina...not a lot of difference, but I preferred solars performance more. Great reaction.👍

there are dramas that aren’t especially about romance!! i realised a lot of dramas portray more and more realistic (korean) issues such as bullying, the corrupt political system and school system, etc. i’m watching The Uncanny Counter right now (with Kim Sejeong, former ioi member) that covers a lot of these topics, it’s on Netflix, and even having this ‘serious’ side, it’s also very fun to watch. its OST is great. another one that i recommend is Angry Mom (i enjoyed it sO much)

As for non-romantic dramas...i swear even those that are focused on other things feel they need a romance subplot that gets a huge focus, sometimes to the point that it ruins the drama for me (i generally dislike and avoid the romance dramas, though there are some exceptions). One of my absolute favorote dramas is 'search: www', the one "wow" is for. It's about the interactions between three powerful women in a tech industry as they work with and against each other and does a good job of humanizing some of the villains (though not all) without trying to redeem them (though there is redemption, of course). There is romance and, while the main character's annoys me sometimes, it also feels so much more realistic than is usually depicted

There are all kinds of kdramas. Not all are romance centered. Korea likes romance...so there are a lot of them. The ost’s have all kinds of different feels too. Depends what part of the drama they are on.

I got Netflix to see the blackpink documentary and still have it. Theyve got lots of kdramas. I've only seen one so far, the kingdom. Its an amazing zombie horror show. But I started watching vincenzo, about a korean consigliere working for the Italian mob, I'm into it. If you boil down any show it does come down to some kind of romance. Got, Lotr, star trek.😂
I love anything mamamoo, they really are one of the most amazing vocal groups in all music. It was interesting during christmas when I saw solar's christmas medley and then caught Christina Aguilera on seth meyers afterwards. I dont know much about her but have heard her in her prime. Having heard solar and then comparing her to christina...not a lot of difference, but I preferred solars performance more. Great reaction.👍

there are dramas that aren’t especially about romance!! i realised a lot of dramas portray more and more realistic (korean) issues such as bullying, the corrupt political system and school system, etc. i’m watching The Uncanny Counter right now (with Kim Sejeong, former ioi member) that covers a lot of these topics, it’s on Netflix, and even having this ‘serious’ side, it’s also very fun to watch. its OST is great. another one that i recommend is Angry Mom (i enjoyed it sO much)
