the babyape ii has this little PCB with LEDs in them instead! the wires are soldered into both sides.

This is what I do too! I still haven't figured out why bnf manufacturers don't use a flexible TPU printed version instead, they'd get messed up but it won't shatter and would probably be lighter

thats all what I did is just put electrical tape on it.
I would just cut it off and put tape instead lol
If you have actually ever tried that, you'll know that removing them is quite difficult.
@marblekitfpv you're right, I did it once on my Mark5 and that adhesive was on there good 😆
