This was awesome to watch, I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing as I actually hate lectures, they are boring and slow. BUT the thing that has kept me from doing it is being afraid that I’ll miss stuff and not know what I should know. How do you know that your learning outcomes haven’t been affected? Curious, as we only have one exam in the end of the semester so there is not so much time to evaluate. Would love to hear it! Thanks for the vid!

Thanks man! I don’t how it is in Sweden, but here we mostly don’t get tested on stuff outside of the lecture pdfs. And in the clinical years, it’s mostly the same stuff, symptoms, diagnostics and treatment. So there’s not really much to miss out on!

You didn't factor in the commute time/money a lot of people would be saving too by not physically going to lecture. And personally, I think the missing social factor angle is over exaggerated. With that time your saving you can opt to put some of that towards joining clubs or going to professor office hours. If no office hours are available, you can still choose to attend some (not all) lectures with the express purpose of asking or discussing questions from your self study with peers and prof.
Self discipline is hard in general, I think just as hard even when you do attend lectures. If your not an auditory learner, you waste a lot of energy straining to listen and understand things during the lecture. And that means less energy to put towards self discipline. So in the past after lectures I would often find myself exhausted and wasting time after my lectures were over instead of reviewing.
