I’m Jamaican, and we refer to this as sorrel. We ALWAYS boil it with ginger. Sometimes I add pineapple to mine. We add red label wine and some J. Wray and Nephew white rum, and some sugar. If we ferment it we add a little clove in the bottle. Best drink ever!!! 😋

That's amazing! I never try it with rim before, but i will give it a try. Thanks for watching. Appreciate it 🙏 💯 🙌

The sorrel, a native plant of West Afrika, is the flower of a plant belonging to the hibiscus family. It was used by our Afrikan Ancestors for its health benefits, and also served like wine during celebrations and feasts. Sorrel has far more health benefits than cranberries because it’s a natural blood thinner, regulates blood pressure by relaxing the arteries and blood vessels, as well as contributing to the alleviation of several cardiovascular issues. It is also rich in vitamin C. Drinking it pure is best, but adding ginger/a dash of cayenne and adding a natural sweetener is also good. TFS.😊😋

This looks so delicious. I make a winter version by boiling it with ginger, cinnamon, cloves and a few cardamom pods. It's very warming if you are looking for a less boozy version but still feel some warmth from it. It's delicious!!!

Add water depends on how strong you want it and how much sorrell leaves you use. Roughly I will say 1 cup of sorrell leave to 3 cups of water. If it's too strong, you can add more. Thanks for watching. Appreciate it 🙏 💯 🙌
