    pretty unfortunate that your frame had broken, Awesome video tho, my favorite track to watch was colour blind. super interesting :D

      I am 50/50 on whether I'm sad about it. On one hand that frame had sentimental value.. on the other, I'm now riding a Norco Sight! Yeah colour blind is super fun! Such a fast track and that hip at the end is amazeballs

      My favourite place to ride in Tasmania at the moment, and given the choice available, that has to be saying something! 😀

    Wow, nightmare material! Good thing it didn't happen on the local, or anything else faster, that's probably one of the 'safest' jumps for a catastrophic failure...
    How long have you had that frame for?

    • @IBCMTB
      @IBCMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For sure, could have been far, far worse! Frame is/was pretty much spot on 1 year old since first being ridden, with only a handful of Derby/Maydena trips on it. Have me eye on a new frame already, this one should hold up better hopefully 👍

    Nice edit. I’ll be going to Derby and Maydena for the first time this April so great to see the trails. I have a Remedy, how did the demo ride at Maydena, enough travel?

    • @IBCMTB
      @IBCMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry about the late reply, you'll love Tassie! I'd say 150-160 travel is probably about the sweet spot for Maydena & Derby. Demo Remedy was great, if not slightly small for me. You'd probably be able to charge harder and be more confident on the harder black/double black trails with a longer travel bike at Maydena (170+), but it's definitely not required. Derby you almost wouldn't want more than 150/160 as there's a lot more climbing involved to get to the better trails (Kumma Gutza, Trouty, Detonate, Roxanne etc), so you don't want to be lugging a full enduro bike around all day anyway.

      @@IBCMTB Thanks for the info, I will note down those trails as well. Crazy frame break, by the way, it didn't seem to affect your confidence on the demo bike though.

      Yeah was a bit of a shock hey! Had been saying I was hoping the frame didn't break earlier, but man, I wasn't serious haha 😯

    Wow bro. Sorry about your bike. You were sending it pretty hard. Was that the bike you took down Detonate? What are they rated? Cat4?

    • @IBCMTB
      @IBCMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah, Detonate was much more recently, on my new frame (2021 alloy Norco Sight). Not sure what you mean by Cat4?

    • @drappennen5704
      @drappennen5704 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IBCMTB ahh cool. These “Cat” ratings are to do with intended use. For instance my Canyon Strive is rated Cat4 for jumps, drops and trail conditions to a certain level. A DH rig would almost always be rated Car5. But we all take our enduros down DH lines don’t we hahah?

    Have you thought about doing the tas gravity enduro?

    • @IBCMTB
      @IBCMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Had a few people suggest it, and have definitely thought about it... just haven't got around to it! Probably not this series.. maybe next?

    Looks bloody steep, even with the GoPro effect...

    • @IBCMTB
      @IBCMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's ridiculously steep and relentless on some of the trails, watching the GoPro footage back it really doesn't look too bad in comparison, and this is only on the single blacks! Some of the double black and pro line trails are utter madness and I doubt I'll ever be able to even attempt them. Check out videos of "OTT" if you can, that last chute into a right handed scares me even just watching the video!

    • @IBCMTB
      @IBCMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have been assured that frames produced since mine have an additional gusset and strengthening in the area of the break, and I haven't seen any other failures of this type (that I'm aware of), so I wouldn't not recommend one. They're great value for what they are, I guess we just have to remember that in the end it's not a large manufacturer with the ability to do large amounts of QC and testing.
