Yamaha THR10x is the best-sounding digital amp I have ever had. It sounds excellent both through the speakers (stereo) and using headphones. I have been testing several amps or multieffects for bedroom volumes, including Fender Mustang, Blackstar HT5, Marshall DSL5, Tubemeister 5, BOSS ME80 and Pod Studio and for tube amps you need to crank the volume to make them sound good (your family/neighbours won's like it) while the digital ones (Fender, pod, Boss) sound...digital and crappy (unless tested on YT:)) It's likely that Kemper or Fractal may sound better than Yamaha but considering the price... This is indeed more like a practice amp rather than a device for home recording, however you get a nice DAW (Cubase) for free so you can play a bit with if you like, as well.
@Bartek You can sound like Kemper or Ax Fx even better with a Pod in terms of simulation of amps, with some practice you would have the same tone as your favorite band without spending thousands of dollars on these teams. What I see higher is in effects like delay, reverb etc. If you like high gain tones and you could never have something like this with a Pod I can help you and you will realize that Axe and Kemper are overrated and with something much cheaper you can have these tones.
@@butcher_0392 Thanks! I've never tried Kemper or Fractal myself - just heard good things about them from those who did. First off it gives access to the ability to mix effects that you can't when using it as a stand alone practice amp. The true beauty of this amp is it's ease to connect to a DAW for recording proposes, with zero latency I might add, the interface is bullet proof. Well this amplifer can be more than a simple practice amp. I use it for playing blues / metal / djent and it's working pretty well. To be honnest the best tone are the bluesy ones. But it's been like 2 years I'm using it and a drop F# 7 strings guitar can totaly match with it ! I mean for the money and the size of it (do not expect a mini mesa for 200€). This review is well done but you don't show its real sound potential... But anyway maybe we will see that lil guy in some another videos ahah
the amp modeling is for your... USBBBBB. As a practice amp yes, the speakers are what they are, but as a usb recording interface, the software and modelling that Yamaha provides as a basis for building your recording tone is POWERFUL, making it well worth the price new, alone... but your dont even need new cause the market is saturated with used models and they are made by yamaha so are built like tanks. listen to the preamp models through a headphone amp into your reference headphones or computer monitors and talk about bringing the tone in all the right ways to your ears. The preset tones ARE NOT FOR YOUR DINKY MICRO SPEAKERS, even though they still sound way better than other practice amps of similar ilk.
Maybe you do not know that the output of the headphones is a true output that you can connect to the Focusrite and monitor speakers without having to microphone cabinet etc. .. I prefer it to my Mesa Mark V .. sometimes I use the integrated sound card that sounds great! Regards
Hey quick question. If I plug into computer using USB port, would I be able to hear through headphones both what I’m playing and also the track I’m playing along to on computer all through headphones? My dilemma is wanting to play along to tracks on computer but hearing both the song and my guitar only through the headphones because I don’t want to bother my roommate with the noise. Thanks!!
Is it possible to play to get sound out of the headphone jack without getting sound out of the internal speakers? For playing at night for example? I don't want to need to connect it via USB to my computer.
Hey man.Have you checked out the new reverse headstock guitars coming out from Ibanez this year. They look pretty sweet. And I have a crazy question. I'm looking to getting back into guitar this year and I'm loving the down-tuned Djenty stuff. Should I get a 7/8 string or just 6 string and tune to drop A. Any advice will be appreciated.Help a guitarist in need.
I would recommend you go to a guitar center or music shop and try a couple 7/8 strings before you commit. but when you decide check rondomusic.com . they have some great deals. you can djent on 6,7, or 8, string guitars. it depends on what youre comfortable with. good luck.
I have thr10x for years .I love it and it's perfect for a bedroom guitarist. Also, you CAN get nice bass out of it, just need to place the amp in front of a wall. If it stands in the middle of room then bass is not so strong
Hey man, I am creating a new band (modern metal/Djent) after a long time and I've sold all my old gear, pedals etc. What would you recomend on a budget of 400-500e, mostly for live use? (for recordings the other guitarist has a kemper, so we are good xD). I am trying to decide between the pod hd500x, mooer ge200, eleven rack and a boss katana head, what is your opionion? Thanks and amazing videos by the way!!
Depends if you want to play through a cab (on rehearsals for instance) or not. I'm almost in the same situation than you are, I've sold my HD500 but I'm starting to rehearse again soon. I'd get an HD500 again and then probably a super cheap head with an FX loop so you can amplify your HD500 tone!
Absolutely use the computer you can edit in dialing sounds a lot better then without using the computer it still sounds great without their computer but let me tell you using that computer makes that sounds so much better and it's so much easier to play the guitar without straining using that editor so I definitely recommend downloading that it's pretty simple I have to get this guy's name it's Cameron something if you ask your phone how to use that thr10x you will see Cameron this guy come on there and he will show you five of his top settings and you can copy it off of him and it sounds awesome I don't think it's too good when someone he says something that they don't know much about recording another situation has nothing to do with editing that's a Cubase disk that comes with the amplifier that you download if you want to record two different things

the amp modeling is for your...
Regards
So it's a simple headphone output?!
Thanks!!
Heard that those thr are not bad at all for recording purpose
Hi, how does rgr321 feel very different from prestige?
Is it possible to play to get sound out of the headphone jack without getting sound out of the internal speakers? For playing at night for example? I don't want to need to connect it via USB to my computer.
Yes absolutely, you can play over headphones without any sound coming out of the speakers!
Ray Amukwaya if you like 8 strings, check reverb.com, plenty of used ibanez 7 and 8s for under 400 USD
Alex Davies Thanks...Love the white RG8
Ray Amukwaya i just ordered an RGA8 with Blackouts in it from Reverb, theres a review of that on this channel
I would recommend you go to a guitar center or music shop and try a couple 7/8 strings before you commit. but when you decide check rondomusic.com . they have some great deals. you can djent on 6,7, or 8, string guitars. it depends on what youre comfortable with. good luck.
Thanks for all the advice😊
Been wanting one of these amps for a long time. Hell I'd even get one tattooed on me if the company would send me one.
I think the Yamaha is cheaper than the tatoo.
Please don't do that.
What's the difference with the normal thr10?
This one is more focused on high gain/heavy metal amp modeling.
buying this because of this video and lampr3as guitarrist borja mintegiaga recommendation
I have thr10x for years .I love it and it's perfect for a bedroom guitarist. Also, you CAN get nice bass out of it, just need to place the amp in front of a wall. If it stands in the middle of room then bass is not so strong
Great videos ..Keep it up
Hey man, I am creating a new band (modern metal/Djent) after a long time and I've sold all my old gear, pedals etc.
What cab did you use here?
I use my dead horse o.d. to boost it and it sounds killer
Try out the tubemieister 18, I been wanting to see a review
I will, my friend has one!
Soulhenge Gear Reviews awesome :) if all goes well I might have to get me one
Can you use any pedals with this practice amp
Brootal Izzy of course you can, you can plug anything in between your guitar and Yamaha
if its not Djenty enough
which amp is the cheapest and best for Djent?
dude maybe the other version would've fit ur liking better, i have it and love it, great video btw
other version? I hate people like you that dont give context. There are like 5 different versions. be specific.
Can you use the USB to power the amp?
no
i read your background poster like Accept, an old-school German band, you know)
Is this tube or solid state amp?
Solid state.
all the riff is your Origins?
Some of them sounds like The Dali Thundering Concept you notice?!
Did you use any pedals or is the sound just the guitar and amp?
It's just guitar and amp!
Which RG is that exactly? Never seen one of those with a reverse headstock.
J. Stormer looks like an MTM2
..."it's a nice object" lol
That adept poster though
400th like!!! 🎊🎊🎊🎉🎉🎉
"subbosed" Lol all good m8
That sucks it’s so plasticy. It looks like it would be solid.
Amp casing (the green area) is metal.
Get your own hands on it. It's a nice amp for the price
What's up is a refund for that haircut.
What tasty sounds that jesus😋
yuMA-ha
Much yapping.
I hate the sound of the strings. bad review.
Can you use this amp with an acoustic guitar?
