If you know what to listen for, you can hear baby pigeons even if you can't see them. I used to work in the back of a grocery store that had a pigeon flock on the low dock roof. You could hear the baby pigeon squeaks all the time. Pigeons make nests that are pretty pathetic looking, a small amount of sticks compared to the "typical" woven bird nest. Looks like it'd get torn up by even the slightest gust of wind. But, they also hide them pretty well. They seek out hidden cracks and crevices when they can, so it makes sense that you don't see the babies much. In fact, I never saw actual babies while working there, even though I could hear them all the time. I also had 3 pigeons as pets growing up so I knew what they sounded like already. Pigeons are cool, they have personality, and are smarter than people realize. My mom even potty-trained them, no joke! They'd roost in a large cage over night. We'd open the cage doors every morning and they'd fly into the bathroom, perch on the toilet seat, and poop. Turns out they'd actually prefer NOT to sleep where they poo. Their "gross" reputation comes from perching up high, and pooing down onto the ground where we people happen to exist.
