I think the worst thing about the US one is the presentation. I don't think the actual food on offer is that bad but i would think that it would be beneficial to moral to package it in something a little nicer than just shades of brown plastic. I mean this almost looks more condensed and is of course stackable unlike those plastic bags and it also looks more like something you'd have while camping and not in a trench somewhere.
Army has a saying "Eat it now, taste it later." We never had a lot of time for nice little meals out in the middle of nowhere, but it sure would have been cute to sit around a table made out of a box without a tiny little meals all dished out, lol. I still crave an MRE every now and then. The blueberry cobbler dessert was on point!
