Connor Bunch It's not. Most, if not all cars built in the last 15 years have a dual mass flywheel. The fuckers are expensive. Most people replace them with an aftermarket single mass flywheel when it comes time to do the clutch.
Depending on the flywheel and clutch material, you may not even have to resurface the flywheel. Organic clutches are very easy on the flywheel. Plus, resurfacing is a lot cheaper than getting a new wheel. I had one done for $60, and the operator of the shop did it dead nuts flat.
it depends on how flat you want it to be.. there are more worse ones than easy this one was pretty easy. i would leave it on there longer so it was extra flat
it uses a diamond wheel so you dont have to account for it.. generally it was around 3500rpm stone wheels you could only use certain ones at certain speeds

i worked for a truck parts and service company i did this a lot. we also rebuilt clutches and ground a lot of pressure and center plates.
Paul, We very rarely have to replace a flywheel. Resurfacing with a grinder will restore the surface.

its the camera they were yellowish when the sparks flew
