    Kyle. You made me emotional , when you confirmed what I thought ..........it is the workers that made the trip worthy !
    Yes, for me, talking to the hardworking staff was worth far more than seeing the wonders of the caves.
    While it is employment for them, it takes a certain amount of hard work and dedication to make the visitors as comfortable as possible.
    The one time I went on a cruise ship, out of habit I got up early as I did at home. I got the chance to meet workers, talk to them, find our what is their native country, their family lives. All fun and games for the travellers, but very hard work for the crew. Very demanding work, away from friends and relatives for long periods. And yes, just like your cave crew, one person held a few jobs, depending on the time of the day. Ports of call were for the enjoyment of the travelers !
    At your age it is easy to be fit as the others.
    Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.

    One customer who signed up for Tu Lan Tour at our company tmr has just mentioned your channel in our conversation. This video of yours led him to Quang Binh, VN. Thank you, Kyle ^^
    I really enjoyed all of your talking in the video and your appreciation for the crew and I loved your story, feel like there's no filter in it bc there are not so many TH-camrs who would share the same thing in such an experience.
    You brushing your teeth and the guy playing ukulele in the next morning did cheer me up :D

    Glad that you decided to go and made this video for us Kyle 👍. You really document the trip well. I understand that Oxalis offers many different tours. How many nights did you spend in the cave? Explore this cave is on our bucket list. Thanks Kyle.

      Thank you for watching. I only spent one night in the cave. This was the first time I ever did something like this so I just wanted a basic introduction. The conditions were a bit extreme for me, the heat, the humidity, especially. However, this was such fun that I want to go through the same company in the near future to do more cave systems.

    Kyle, I'm now catching up on my YT watching. I FEEL your pain with the heat!! I might have gone only 500 meters and I would have had to be airlifted to a hospital. Heat is my enemy, but I like adventure. You made it and it's great for new discoveries. The team seemed to make a great community. Wow nice toilet setup too, looks promising. How was your 1sat time sleeping in a tent?
    Thank you for showing the human side of the guides, everyone usually just show the great tour, but forget that it's the people in the support staff that make your adventure a dream, so get to know them. Loft it. Keep up the great videos with it's amazing content.

    Great video Kyle. I did this in 2017, and you're right, the Oxalis crew are just awesome people. Here at least, tourism is a force for good. And yes, the climb up to the road at the end is hard. But I'd recommend Hang Én to anybody. Great crew, amazing food and you get to sleep in a tent on a beach in a huge cave in Vietnam. Not many places you can do that.

    The underlying ethos of spelunking/camping is to get out in nature and be self reliant, not travel with cooks and guides who make full course meals, empty your toilet, carry all your stuff, etc. This is no different than Mt. Everest climbers who hire sherpas to do everything

    • @kyleledotnet
      @kyleledotnet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Your logic makes sense for experienced people. But for regions like this with lots of thick jungle, finding this cave and actually exploring it by oneself is impossible and dangerous without guides.

    • @davidduong9939
      @davidduong9939 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They come here to explore the cave, not to play survival games and destroy the environment at the same time. Btw, Everest is full of garbage and dead bodies. I am sure no one want to turn this cave and surrounding jungle into the same situation

      The pool is actually a river that runs through the cave and the cave becomes flooded once a year when tours stop for many months. Also, visits are restricted and expensive to keep from over tourism.
