The "old" elements are cool and fairly scary.
The "new" elements are quite out of place and having comic characters in the ride is just bad design.
The spinning of the cars is quite nice and it goes up and down more often.
And sometimes they introduce little water-spraying gargoyles and stuff that actually surprises you, and what i like the most, not all elements trigger at the same cars, so if you ride it multiple times, some different stuff might get you, thats wonderful.
i like it! it really is a mesh mash of Haunted Mansion and scare attractions you'd see at a carnival.
only thing, much like the issue imagineers had, they don't seem to either want to commit to a scary theme or a spooky theme so the whole thing comes out incohesiveness. still fun though.
I love the fact that in THIS version of the "haunted mansion" they actually thrust a hanging guy prop into the stretching room
As a lot of people say, it looks like a cheap version of Haunted Mansion, but what's saddening is that it looks like people who made it had some very good ideas, but combined them with cartoon antics that don't fit well.
I've seen videos showing older versions of this ride and while still quite confusing, it looked much more charming... It's too bad they decided to make it so silly.
Luckily it will be getting upgraded next year (presumably) with the park saying they want to restore it back to one coherent storyline, without the cartoon characters (those were added to promote a movie a while back, and it seems the park is also not happy with the implementation anymore)
Don’t make it silly
@Mark
Oke what movie is that?
Yes, but I don't think they had the singing busts/heads in the old version which is my personal favorite part of this ride.
Just to point it out. This ride was built in the 80s. Like many attractions in the park. Europapark used to be a small local park and there was no Disneyland Paris. They wanted to bring some US ideas to Europe. But now the park has grown with its own reputation. Newer rides and areas are original.
A better attempt than most Haunted Mansion clones but still seems really cheap and generic. Basically Spirit Halloween: The Ride
It might look cheap and generic because its one of the oldest rides in the park. If you look at the parks latest dark ride (pirates in batavia) you'll see a huge jump in quality.
The low light does add to it looking cheap.
Hi, John! 👋☺
Wow!😃 I'm impressed!! Obviously, they took some ideas from Disney, but combined those with their own version. I'm usually not impressed with most Halloween attractions, other than Disney's. But this one is pretty cool!👍👻🎃
Btw, you really need a stabilizer, or gimble, for your camera. Too shaky. Otherwise, a great video!!👍🎥
Definitely feels like a love letter to the Haunted Mansions. There's only a few things I would change. In the elevator, I don't want to see the portrait's testicles. That's honestly just...so freaking weird.
And this part at 4:49 - 4:54 I've seen cleaner/more terrifying projections in home Halloween displays. They just don't fit with anything else going on and come across as really childish. Their loading bay platform is actually really cool with those statues lining it and the skeleton chandelier.
This seems awfully familiar. 😂😂😂
I kept saying this while walking around the whole park. They even have a soaring ride.
JohnYChen I have a friend who went recently. It's a beautiful park, but almost no originality.
@@Lap_Bar_Down Plenty of rides and shows there that are original
Don't forget Spaceship Mountain- oops, sorry, Eurosat!😂
How the heck has this park not yet been sued into /oblivion/ by Disney..???
I was there at the end of 2018, if I remember correctly. Always wanted to see it personal. I like it, though for one, a lot of scenes are very crowded.
The library at the beginning, for example. There are the skeleton ladies reading, a weird butler couple and the, I presume, living woman beging the guests to help and not leave her.
Then there are the characters from the book "Happy Family" by David Safier that was also turned into a movie. And the characters just clash with the overall premise.
Would ride it again, though. It has a certain charme to it I really like.
I hate the fact that they put these ridiculous comic characters into a haunted house.
CptCyberPunk lol I even saw some that you can buy at the spirit Halloween stores in the USA 😂
@@sachaconcerts8953 wait seriously? which ones????
That's what it would be like if you bought The Haunted Mansion on Wish 😆
Loool
The Haunted Mansion, but it’s a Six Flags ride
Theme Park Nerdo lol six flags wishes they were on europa park’s level
Six Flags suxs
This place looks like a love letter to The Haunted Mansion. If I ever get to travel there this is a must ride for me.
The older version was far more creepy!
Yes, but I don't think they had the singing heads in the old version
This is a haunted mansion rip off
To be quite frankly, the haunted mansion is very boring.
@@businessofseyy3512 you're boring
Doyoing you’re boring
Business Of Seyy ... but this is a rip off anyway.
It’s a lot “scarier” than the Haunted Mansion though
At 7:33 I love that they made a literal (non-special effect) bust that follows you.
what does the "ghost host" say in the stretching room?
I think he says something like "Welcome my friends, you will have fun here and stay with us forever in this world of catastrophes." Something like that, I think.
Is this like the Germany wannabe Disneyland? Looks like some cheezy cool fun and I’d love to go visit this place!!
It got cut off at the end....does this ride empty out into a store that sells Geisterschloss merchandise?
Yes the ride does exit into a gift shop
@@johnychen a haunted gift shop.
Meine Frau sagt das es die Beste Aufnahme ist.
haunted mansion… except: a million things happening in each scene and it’s scarier 😂😂😂
It looks interesting despite it being somewhat of a haunted mansion rip off
A nicer ghetto Haunted Mansion
how dare they ripoff disney haunted mansion
Ok this is definitely a ripoff of the haunted mansion
Well it's better than most generic "haunted house" dark rides. Plus the fact that the ghosts speak German is pretty cool. But The Haunted Mansion is definitely better.
They ripped off Disney's Haunted Mansion completely. But, it looks like fun!
Thoroughly surprised Disney didn't file a lawsuit
If I were Disney I would sue. However, even if Disney won this place looks like they wouldn't be able to afford to pay much
Sur for what? Building a hauting house before the existence of disneyland ?
They get around 6 million visitors a year and won the golden ticket award for "best theme park in the world" 5 years in a row. Many of their newer dark ride attractions like "pirates in batavia" are on par with disney in terms of quality and charm. Im pretty sure they are doing just fine. Sure, this attraction is a haunted mansion ripoff, but it was the first proper "e-ticket" attraction they built back in the 1980s when disneyland paris didnt yet exist, and they wanted to bring some us ideas to europe.
