There is a proper way to drive a CVT. It’s not about keeping your foot flat on the gas and revving the engine all the way to 7,000 RPM. You need to slightly lift your foot to allow the CVT to shift. The way you were driving is more like how you’d handle a torque converter or possibly a DCT. Every type of gearbox has its own driving technique, and understanding them is super important.
Perfectly said, in fact we need to release the pedal for allowing gears to shift and RPM to go down. If you have driven Manual car, you can very well guess when to leave the pedal for gear shift !!
Agreed, in the drag race even if he had driven in D mode the gear shifts atleast could happen at some point. But instead he drove in S mode (which doesnt upshift until redlining the RPMs) and didnt bother to use paddle shifters to keep the engine in optimum power band.
Wrong. You have no clue how CVT works. When he puts his foot on the pedal, the CVT remains at 5500 RPM as that is the point of peak power. CVTs don't shift. The real reason why CVT is lethargic is because of belt/chain slippage.

It is not sports mode, it is "Standard" mode which basically is "Manual" mode. In the drag race you should have either kept it in D mode so that upshifts could happen when needed or in Standard mode u should have used paddle shifters to upshift gears. U basically drove it in first gear during the drag race whole time, thats the reason of CVT lagging behind so much and creating so much noise. In Standard (/manual) mode driver has to change gears using paddle shifters as and when required. This is also the reason why u felt better performance and noise levels in Manual version, because there u were upshifting gears while accelerating.
I bought previous generation 2024 Amaze VX CVT 9 months ago. Its just awesome car. Great driving experience on highways. Even at 100 to 140 kmph speed, its very stable with great comfort and control. Great steering control with super CVT gearbox. What an effortless and easy driving! Super smooth silent engine with 19-21 kmpl highway mileage. I am extremely happy with Honda Amaze. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

As you are experienced driver, that jerk when shifting gears in manual car is not expected from you. And even in automatic you have paddle shifters to get instant pushback so you missed that.
Buy base variant, just add a rear camera and ask them to replace rear windshield with the one which comes with VX(if you need rear defogger), then you are all good !!
Sir sports mode main aapko padel shifters use karne hain tab you will be able to drive it properly. And also normal D mode main you can use padel shifters to change the gear if you need to downshift suddenly. Coming from a long term Honda Owner.

Bhai sahb when driving in sports mode use paddle shifter to get performance. Just don't push the accelerator without using paddle shifters in sports mode in amaze.
भाई रवी, अगर आराम से 60-70-80 पर चलाई तो इसका इंजन आवाज नहीं करेगा, but बस 3 समस्या हैं इसकी 1) गाड़ी के बाहर कोई पाद भी दे तो ऐसा लगता है कि वो मेरी गाड़ी के अंदर पादा 😂 plus the crazy road noise at high speeds like you pointed out correctly. 2) मेरे model में Body roll तो है 3) Unstable feel after 110 plus speed. And over the years केवल 20 हजार के चलने के बाद इसके shocker आवाज करते हैं और पिछे बैठने वाले की कमर में दर्द पक्का हो जाता है। मेरे पास 2016 Amaze मैनुअल है और में 1 साल से Brezza के नए Model की wait कर रहा हुँ। मेरी 2nd car 6 महिने पुरानी बीस लाख वाली Kia Seltos Automatic है।
I think visibility would compromise if you put a dashcam on this car as something (ADAS camera ?) occupied the space behind the IRVM. Not sure but to me it looks like that.

People hesitate to admit that an AMT is more versatile than a CVT. It (CVT) may be the best when driving with moderate accelerator inputs, but it is definitely the worst under hard acceleration.
@@vijaykumarc.a.4677 Head nods happen in manual too; it's just the driver that doesn't feel it because he is changing the gear. In AMT too, the driver can switch to the manual mode and then he won't feel the head nod. Passengers feel the head nod in both cases unless the driver is a pro and can shift really quickly like a racer.

Sir- I have some queries. I have been driving for 10 and half years small car- Hyundai Sportz EON- Home-Ofc Home, average distance is both ways 30 km- fully satisfied. However I want to upgrade and shortlisted Baleno Alpha (Top variant) MT petrol - it has head up display, auto dimming IRVM etc and another choice is Honda Amaze (either new or earlier model) top model- manual MT. a) Which one to use you suggest please- Baleno or Amaze and b) Comparison between Amaze (new model top variant MT Petrol and just the earlier model same type) which will be better? Factors - reliability, peace of mind service, less cost maintainence. My EON car is indeed cheap in maintainance and is not at all trouble some inpsite of near to 11 years old. Awaiting your kind suggestions if any. By the way I stay in Kolkata- bearing the traffice volume and parking factor- Hatchback perhaps will be more suitable! Many Thanks. Happy new year 2025!
Manual and CVT k saath Honda ko AMT gear box bhi provide karana chaiye because AMT is less expensive than CVT and repair cost is also low and in AMT you will not feel any rubber band effect

I have Brezza and 3XO. I would suggest to go for the one which provides best average and have better support since both the cars are safe. Go for DZire... Otherwise, these cars feel like they are drinking your blood.

As someone who has driven both New Dzire and Amaze I can confirm that even 3-cylinder Dzire has way better performance and refinement than Amaze's engine. Also Dzire has better Noise insulation too. Dzire's Engine Pulls nicely beyond 1800rpm and has a good linear midrange, while Amaze's engine flat all the way from 1800-3500 rpm which makes Amaze difficult to drive and underpowered. However Amaze only show good performance beyond 4000rpm to 6500rpm but in Daily driving this performance is useless. Comfort in both cars was good but front seats in Dzire were bigger. Dzire has better safety rating and it also reflected in driving dynamics too where I felt Dzire has much better stability than Amaze. The Cabin in Dzire was also silent compared to Amaze. Also in terms of looks and Modernity Dzire feels a better car. So Dzire is a better car than Amaze.
bhai 3 cylinder engine 4 cylinder se smoother kaise ho sakta hai. Also low end performance of Dzire suffers because of 3 cylinder. gazab ki fekam faank ki hai tuney.

भाई रवी, अगर आराम से 60-70-80 पर चलाई तो इसका इंजन आवाज नहीं करेगा, but बस 3 समस्या हैं इसकी 1) गाड़ी के बाहर कोई पाद भी दे तो ऐसा लगता है कि वो मेरी गाड़ी के अंदर पादा 😂 plus the crazy road noise at high speeds like you pointed out correctly. 2) मेरे model में Body roll तो है 3) Unstable feel after 110 plus speed. And over the years केवल 20 हजार के चलने के बाद इसके shocker आवाज करते हैं और पिछे बैठने वाले की कमर में दर्द पक्का हो जाता है।
मेरे पास 2016 Amaze मैनुअल है और में 1 साल से Brezza के नए Model की wait कर रहा हुँ। मेरी 2nd car 6 महिने पुरानी बीस लाख वाली Kia Seltos Automatic है।

I think visibility would compromise if you put a dashcam on this car as something (ADAS camera ?) occupied the space behind the IRVM. Not sure but to me it looks like that.

People hesitate to admit that an AMT is more versatile than a CVT. It (CVT) may be the best when driving with moderate accelerator inputs, but it is definitely the worst under hard acceleration.
head nods will ruin d daily drivers' everything (mood, comfort....etc..)...and your claim is not full true..check out the cvt drive fully pls
@@vijaykumarc.a.4677 Head nods happen in manual too; it's just the driver that doesn't feel it because he is changing the gear. In AMT too, the driver can switch to the manual mode and then he won't feel the head nod. Passengers feel the head nod in both cases unless the driver is a pro and can shift really quickly like a racer.

Ravi Bhai, Altroz XMA+ DCT jo 8.40 Ex showroom price me hai wo 8.70 me on road mil rahi hai after discount. I want automatic & safe car. Very less running. Budget is less than 9 lakhs. What's your advice? Tiago EV they are giving in 7 lakhs. I am also thinking about Magnite. Agar Kylaq automatic 10-11 me bhi mil jati to wahi final kar leta.

Sir- I have some queries. I have been driving for 10 and half years small car- Hyundai Sportz EON- Home-Ofc Home, average distance is both ways 30 km- fully satisfied. However I want to upgrade and shortlisted Baleno Alpha (Top variant) MT petrol - it has head up display, auto dimming IRVM etc and another choice is Honda Amaze (either new or earlier model) top model- manual MT. a) Which one to use you suggest please- Baleno or Amaze and b) Comparison between Amaze (new model top variant MT Petrol and just the earlier model same type) which will be better? Factors - reliability, peace of mind service, less cost maintainence. My EON car is indeed cheap in maintainance and is not at all trouble some inpsite of near to 11 years old. Awaiting your kind suggestions if any. By the way I stay in Kolkata- bearing the traffice volume and parking factor- Hatchback perhaps will be more suitable! Many Thanks. Happy new year 2025!

One salesman in Jharkhand could not explain why the price difference between vx vs zx mt is 60k and vx vs zx cvt is 100k. Amaze is over priced. As someone who has driven both New Dzire and Amaze I can confirm that even 3-cylinder Dzire has way better performance and refinement than Amaze's engine. Also Dzire has better Noise insulation too.
Dzire's Engine Pulls nicely beyond 1800rpm and has a good linear midrange, while Amaze's engine flat all the way from 1800-3500 rpm which makes Amaze difficult to drive and underpowered. However Amaze only show good performance beyond 4000rpm to 6500rpm but in Daily driving this performance is useless.
Comfort in both cars was good but front seats in Dzire were bigger. Dzire has better safety rating and it also reflected in driving dynamics too where I felt Dzire has much better stability than Amaze. The Cabin in Dzire was also silent compared to Amaze.
Also in terms of looks and Modernity Dzire feels a better car.
So Dzire is a better car than Amaze.
