This was a real surprise treat. Damn Calli's such a champ. And comparing this to the previous episode Calli was in, Connor definitely shows the most change in his knowledge about V-Tubers
16:39 With the revelation that Calli was physically in the studio for this recording, I'd like to imagine she was there in a Filthy Frank style green jumpsuit, and the boys just had to keep a straight face the whole time
she doesn't have to wear green since vtuber rigging software uses facial tracking. as long as the camera feeding that information to the computer isn't blocked, they can just move the rig over her body in post
@@chipmunkm4n No green screen was used. All they did was take a image of the set from the wideshot angle and the angle from where Garnt and Calli would be sitting, edit those images onto the video and then overlay her vtuber model on top of it.
@2:03:03: Calli is quoting Coco's graduation advice. It's so touching to directly see that Coco is still in everyone's hearts until now. I feel like crying manly tears right now.

I honestly wanna see Chris Broad and Mori Calliope in one Trash Taste Podcast Episode.... because I wanna see how much Boomer Mentality can Chris Broad reach with the concept of Vtubing
@@rifalya8114 most likely yes they have previously mentioned how small the non Japanese TH-cam/streamer group is and as Joey said he and the boys have basically mett all of them and similarly Chris has aswell.
Just from watching the beginning of the podcast, it’s so great seeing how Calli has grown as a guest and streamer. I remember when it took her a while to get comfortable last podcast so it’s great to see her far more confident. My dad can’t be this cute. Edit: She herself mentioned her growth, you love to see it.
I noticed this too from having recently watched her last episode. She seems a lot less like she is playing a character and more just like her natural self which is really enjoyable!
I really appreciate what Calli said about not having a passion. I often feel low because there are certain things I feel like it'd be cool to do, like stream or play music, but I don't have the drive to pursue them. It was surprisingly uplifting to be reassured that it's fine to not have a passion, and just to enjoy your life how you like. Also it's nice to see how much more comfortable and relaxed Calli is now compared to the first episode she came on.
I'm really not into V-tubers but Mori is one of the most fun and relatable guest that's been on the show. Love to listen to you all talkign, hope mori will come back on sometime!
Even Calli knows of the incoming flex. You can't be friendly with Garnt until he tells you about the time he worked at the BBC. Then friendship acquired.
To every person asking if Calli is actually there or not, let me remind you of the first rule of Trash Taste. Every guest MUST be there in PERSON. No exceptions.
Not wanting to be rude, but video essayist are commonly known for being pseudo intellectuals that find deeper meaning of things because they create the second/hidden meaning
@@luizy6701 absolutely true in general but not for schraffilas imo, I wouldn't necessarily classify him a video essayist anyway but he rarely reaches for any deeper meaning and any deeper meaning he does extract is entirely plausible and could've been gathered by anyone. It'd be really cool if this started to become an annual thing. Just these cool overall updates on perspectives and large talking points these four bring are so great to listen to. They all bounce off each other so perfectly.
On the subject of Jump King: if you liked Calli on this podcast, her recent Jump King streams are a bit like this podcast! Just talking about random things with other HoloEn members.
Fantastic to see that Calli gets to be the first guest to be featured on the podcast twice! (Chris obviously doesn't count since he's the unofficial fifth boy)
Connor without his beard is reminding me again that he's the youngest in the group. 1:09:10 "if you're often not available, people dont invite you to things. If everyone knows that you're not gonna show up to stuff most of the time, people will stop inviting you" -Connor from this weeks episode of trash taste. Damn, he's right I preffer Bone Chicken. Mostly because I'm able to dissect it with a fork and spoon. The meat closer to the bone tastes better.
My solution is just... Show up anyway. Just walk in the door of a place my friends are, and they all assume that someone else invited me. Granted this only works that well because A) they're all too disorganized to realize whats happening, and B) they like me enough that they're okay with my sudden appearance, but still it works!
@@carton5235 I mean, if you're not invited, most of the times, you don't really know where the gathering would be, unless you're in a group conversation, but that's basically an invitation ;')
Calli: Everyone has a different idea of what "content" is _[remembers her "Cursed ASMR" stream where she scraped a fork on a plate for almost an hour]_
Calli is my favorite vtuber and I don't even watch her streams, she's just so intensely self aware and uniquely herself. The fact that she could admit that it takes even a smidge of ego to do what she does is something I don't think half the people making content on this platform would feel comfortable doing. Her headspace is one of the most interesting on TH-cam imo
Trash taste has been such a blessing in my life man, I don't know what I'd do without you guys. Like, none of ya'll are writers, but the struggles that you do go through are something that I can feel. The thing is with the advice the trash taste boys and Mori gives, it's a lot of the same advice you'd get no matter what field you're on. The circumstances are different but they can still apply and add, to whatever you have planned for the future. "Never stop trying new things" was literally what my father told me when we had a heart-to-heart talk, about me being a writer. "Spend your energy wisely" is something I had to learn because even if you're writing, and you'd love to write more, it's not like you can actually do it. And there are times when I can't work and do writing, and times when that's literally all I can do. At the same time, you can also just "Be yourself" when you are writing. And I'm sure it's the same with music and up and coming artists, because I met those people, and our struggles are the same. Sometimes we like to compare our works to other more established creators a little too much, and realize how dumb that is. At the end of the day, we're all vying for an audience to get people to see our works, be it acting or streaming, writing or singing. To anyone who has plans for the future, please don't sleep on their advice or experiences, because they genuinely work and I've made soo much progress in my own writing just because I'm able to listen to the trash taste podcast. And that's the thing, you can learn as much technical knowledge you can of anything, but if you don't actually set your foot down on something that *feels* like "This is something that *I* can do." then you won't get far. It helps to have knowledge of what you should be doing, but you're gonna need more than that, and it does help broaden your perspective on how far people have come in their own creative paths. Not just because they're successful, but because it helps picture just how hard people work to get to where they are, and how lucky they had to be. My writing has to be professional level atm, but if I can't finish a book, or get someone to publish it, AND THEN somehow keep up with the internet, how am I going to get out of this niche bubble as a writer? And that's dumbing things down. But would I still do it? HELL YEAH writing is what I live for man!

I understand Calli's fascination with yakuza movies. I remember this one series that I really like about this young kid who wanted to be a normal kid but was actually the son of a yakuza leader and then he got into this weird situation where he had to pretend like he was dating the daughter of a mafia leader. It was really cool!
I think she quoted Coco ay 2:02:00, Coco always says that trying new things leads to a lot better experience for yourself and for the viewers. Man that hits me right on the kokoro.
i would post that but i came to comments just to see....yeah that is coco words for the new vtubers (that can be used inside hololive and outside with smaller and indie vtubers)
I think it’s hilarious that Conor thinks 30 years old is “old.” I can’t wait until he hits that point and realizes that it’s pretty similar to your 20s… just more aches and pains and more responsibility depending on your life situation.
When I was in my 20's I was married and miserable. Now in my 30's I've been single and having a blast. I just turned 39 and recently got into anime and visual novels and I've been having the time of my life. I'm 39 going on 13 I guess, lol. I even got a Yui Hirasawa tattoo last year that takes up half my arm, lol. My patients at the hospital work at seem to enjoy it, lol
Fun fact: after speaking about death games series, Calli talks about Battle Without Honor and Humanity, which was directed by Kinji Fukasaku, who then went on and directed none other than the movie adaptation of Battle Royale, the grandfather of live action death games.
1:49:56 TBH, Joey you're a genius when it comes to building a fanbase(getting your intended audience to love you)and doing TH-cam in general. I think you had the talent and the hard work to be a youtuber without needing to try things out. You were a pretty amazing youtuber from the very beginning.
He looked at the bros looking for a reciprocal laugh response to the funny thing he just said, but he got none out of it, so he just subconsciously realized that he was the only one thinking that what he said was funny, and looked away to concentrate back on the conversation. It's just a simple, natural and healthy reaction to have when you say something cringe to your friends.
The first time she came on I recall her being uncomfortable and quite jumpy. Now she gives off very laid back vibes. Looking forward to seeing her again here.
Might've been awkward, because she had to behave as her character while the guys could actually see "her". Some might've also already known her as her previous persona. We'll add that I think she was also a fan of the show and... she wasn't exactly used to streaming.
Im always impressed how Calli commits to her reaper character, Gura sometimes cant remember what animal she is, and i actually kind of prefer that, but u respect the craft when u see it.
God, my whole day was made as i saw this. So happy to see her back, they talked about it now and then, how she should come back and talk about all the things that changed. The first episode was a real kickstart back in the days. Then she still started out the episode with this forced cutsy voice. Very interested in see how Calli interacts with the boys now that she got so much more experience and now that so much has changed
I find it funny that she was in impromptu podcasts during her Jump King streams, and now she's in an actual podcast again. But I agree that its really nice to see her back again without the forced character aspects from when she first started.
“Red” is honestly one of the best song of 2021 for me. The growth of her music from pre-holo to first 3 singles of holo to most recent is incredible look into a musician having talent and polishing it.
I was actually just like Connor when I watched their first Trashtaste with Calli on, from then that's when I actually got into Hololive and really enjoy Vtubers now. Great to hear more about Calli's creative process and she seemed pretty comfortable here too
Mori's collab with Ironmouse was so sweet. and in a totally unrelated note, if Joey were to do a series on current Japanese bands, it would be so cool if one were, say, totally unrelated
I remember Calli saying that they should premiere the episode or make it live so, people can do super chats and they'll read it. A year later after her first guesting, and it is now happening(AGAIN, I forgot that they premiered the previous one as well).
2:00:56 I actually wanted to say something about this topic too. Hearing mori's answer made me think about my own situation and stuff too and i gotta say that while yeah, when you have the same audience, some people can be jealous of you or you can be jealous of them but the thing which really helps change it all into a positive thing is simply focusing on yourself. Rather than being jealous of the person XYZ has become, you become 'jealous' of the work XYZ has done and the ethic XYZ followed and you try to make yourself better, you try to do it yourself. And tbh, as long as you put in hard work, you see progress(even if it isn't some huge progress) and just that feeling gets rid of the jealousy. Like, here's a good example: My 2 friends who i am studying with rn are both better skilled at a lot of things relating to the work we do. In theory, it should make me jealous. But, we have this friendly competition thing going on where we share ideas with each other, put in our personalitites to make our final work unique and stuff like that and the feeling of making something we are all proud of, regardless of whether 1 is comparably better than the other, just makes us feel good and connected rather than jealous. Jealousy imo is usually something that comes from miscommunication/lack of communication and lack of personal effort or effort that isn't giving fruit. As long as you don't have that, jealousy is really hard to come by.
Since the first collab with Mori, which made me fall into the rabbit hole, I watched approximately 10.000 clips and 100 streams. So glad to see dad again on the best non-anime podcast.
Talk to me a year ago about tea kettles, gorilla angels, thicc dragons, finger stealing dogs, etc....and I'd look at you like you've escaped an asylum, lol.
Man i just love Calli so much, she's the one who just feels most like a homie. She's a superstar in everything she does, but also feels like a real bro
It's crazy how the last time Mori was on Trash Taste, I didn't even know who she was or even what v-tubers were And now this time after seeing the title, I'm like : "Oh so Dad's back on Trash Taste" Time does go fast huh...........
Thanks to Trash Taste and Mori, Ive gone down the rabbit hole of Hololive, Mori still my fave vtuber. That and learning about current japanese culture from Trash Taste! :D
Can’t believe she’s coming back. I was just rewatching the first one and she said she’ll definitely come back. Can’t believe she kept her word, well done

That whole rivalry talk was so wholesome. In my experience, I never really tried to be the best in my friend group, but I do try to at least keep up with my friends. This proved to be a little difficult because almost all my friends were honor student during high school. It was very satisfying when I graduated with honors, albeit the lowest in my friend group.
@@jeppyjep well for context, Yabai translates to meaning Scary, or Dangerous(might be confusing it with Yabe, my Japanese is rocky at best and I'm going mostly by what I see from others when they use It) And IRyS, well- For someone who's Essentially "hope", some of her things don't leave people very hopeful that her words are "good"- Aka, she says some kinda scary things. Does them too, without meaning to alot of the time. It earned her the nickname YabaIRyS, cause it mixes both Yabai and her name- TL;DR It's just mixing a Japanese word for scary with her name.
I just watched the first Calli episode the other day and the difference between her in this episode and that one is like night and day. When she first debuted she felt kind of like she had to like. put on this act the whole time with like a certain cadence of her voice and it kind of felt like she was walking on eggshells a lot, but now it feels like she's a lot more comfortable and is able to do it with less thought put into the way she's saying things. like shes still very much playing a character but it feels like shes been able to mold it more around herself it's really cool to see
Knowing we have Connor who has already fallen into the Rabbit Hole, this was already emotional. Calli inspiring others with the words of one of the senpai who inspired her actually assaulted my emotions, though. The silliest thing that girl ever did was worry that we would forget about her.
The first episode w/ Calli made me look up her stuff! One year later I subscribed to all of Hololive+Holostars+Deticated clippers(to keep up). She's here once again rocking the guest chair with even more finesse . Calli is one of the best hidden talents that I wish I knew sooner, even before Hololive and she deserves all the love in the world! Can't wait for 3D,can't wait for OMOCAT merch, can't wait for the new outfit and can't wait for the world tour! I hope you come to Greece Calli w/ the boys as backup dancers(that would be DIVINE).
Calli is a delight. what a great personality! I've never even watched a Vtuber before so it was a little new to me but I would love to see her on the show again.
Damn, that episode was the one that finally pushed me into the rabbit hole of hololive, and I'm so grateful for that. I'm so excited for her return. Edit: this one was a blast as well, and I'm so happy seeing calli comfortable around the boys. Another banger episode.
Okay but Calli's return in Trash Taste makes me emotional. To be honest, Calli is the most perfect Hololive member to have during a podcast especially on Trash Taste. Glad to see her again!
On the subject of someday meeting fans in person, it could be possible one day. Lumi (Finnish wolfgirl Vtuber, goes "awoo") showed off her 'RTX Extreme Detail' model, which was literally just her, cosplaying as herself.
The EN Myth girls have done panels at coventions, where they stream to an IRL audience sitting in front of the panel. Kiara actually travelled to a convention in Germany and did a meet-and-greet with a selection of individual fans who showed proof of purchase of her merch, albeit still using her avatar and stuff. Probably just streamed from a secret room nearby or maybe even her own hotel room, dunno if she divulged where she was after the fact
That's probably not an option for vtubers in Holo. If you're an indie you can make that choice for yourself but there's no way Cover management will allow it. Also probably not the greatest idea for most big agency vtubers anyway, looking at the reasons for graduation of people like Suzuhara Lulu.
@@SirStrangefolk funny you mentioned that because person behind lulu is actually back to streaming without an avatar so it seems like her issues got resolved.
I really like their take on pursuing your passion especially Garnt's. You can definitely increase your chances with learning from different aspects like your mistakes, other people, and the system itself. Hard work is good but extensive learning and inputting it to your work definitely maximises your luck and chances to be successful. To those pursuing their dreams like myself, I hope you all well!
I would love to see Chris and Mori as guest in the same episode. That would be so much fun. I think I'd like to see Iron Mouse guest as well. It'd be cool to see a vtuber outside hololive and how they experienced things.
Trash Taste has a rule that whoever appears on the podcast has to be there in person (at one point, correct me if I'm wrong, I think they mentioned PewDiePie/Felix himself was going to come on the podcast but he couldn't make the trip to Japan last minute so it never came to be). After Calli's first episode (and I assume they've done the same trick again here), the boys revealed that Calli was physically in the studio, even if she may not have been physically on camera. Unfortunately the problem with Ironmouse coming on the podcast is her health problems that prohibits her travelling. Just recently she was able to try getting out of bed and walking to her window, which was a huge milestone for her. The only way I'd see Ironmouse on the podcast is if they change the rule, make an exception, or Mouse's health drastically improves in a miracle recovery which is quite unlikely sadly... But Mouse did do a stream collab with the Trash Taste boys in Runescape (Connor set it up) a couple weeks ago so that's the closest we'll get.
I think Connor has hinted on stream that they are not opposed to making an exception for Mouse to come on the podcast, but they are wary of it triggering a wave of just getting people on virtually whenever it is mildly inconvenient to have them on in person
@@TheDustyForest i think having immunity problems isn't just some "mild inconvenience" so anyone who uses that excuse should really have a nice good stroll across "bruh" street
She sounds so much more normal in this podcast compared to her first visit. Funny to see the changes between them. I could hardly sit through 2o minutes of her talking previously.
This is probably my favorite episode. Mori coming back and talking about her experience in her first year of this career, and comparing what she's learned against the boyz is really refreshing.
I've been getting into Vtubers over the past month after only kinda watching some clips over the past year. I saw a clip of Calli talking about a past job of hers, and a comment mentioned she went more into some of her past on the first ep of Trash Taste she was on, so I watched that one. Pretty happy to see her on again, especially after I listened to that last ep for the first time so recently! This was a very enjoyable ep.

That's amazing thankyou so much
For me, it works so perfectly because it's literally a bunch of friends talking about random shit, and that's what most of us miss I'd say

kson is live tho, she just evolved, but backwards
Like, here's a good example:
My 2 friends who i am studying with rn are both better skilled at a lot of things relating to the work we do.

1:31:21 and here's the legendary face of grief for nothing 😂💀
2:11:04 Salty Garnt walks out with defeat XD
Thanks to Trash Taste and Mori, Ive gone down the rabbit hole of Hololive, Mori still my fave vtuber. That and learning about current japanese culture from Trash Taste! :D
Vの文化がアニメみたいに海外でも広がってるのがホントに嬉しい!
一人ひとりの努力があってこそのことだから、外部との色々なコラボとかで成果として見れて幸せすぎる!
Vtubers became a huge thing last year
the podcast ep with calli last year was actually the beginning of me falling into this rabbit hole, seeing her here again is very exciting
Same mate, same. And I'm thankful to the boys for dragging me down that rabbit hole
She's awesome to have and be around with.
Just like a genuine human being, who would've thought human interaction was so..
Fun.

We gaming here bois
Can’t believe she’s coming back. I was just rewatching the first one and she said she’ll definitely come back. Can’t believe she kept her word, well done
Same, I was working while relistening to the previous Mori episode then this came out
love the fact that you can tell how tall calli really is
base on how garnts looks at her
Did they ever explain how they pulled this off? Very curious how they do it
@@zodiark619 its pretty much just IRL calli sitting there and infront of her is her phone capturing her movement for her avatar
then when it gets to mudan
he edits it out by erasing IRL calli to put her avatar in there
so if garnt decide to put his arm up to block calli's face
his arm would disappear
@@lawliet617 so she wear greensuit? or that black suit with dot than used in mocap?
@@Eric-iq8uo The tech the Holomem use works on a simple cellphone tracking your movement. No need for mocap.
@@Eric-iq8uo you only need the mocap if your avatar is 3D
1:45:00 The way he just says "wanna know where i worked?" is just so fucking funny. Followed by their reaction? I love it so much it's hilarious
I think her song "End of a life" really shows how much she has grown in her singing/rapping career!
It’d be great if they could get IRyS on an episode. Her and Calli live close to each other so it should be possible
Oh goodness, the thought of YabaIRyS with the trash taste crew is both exciting and terrifying
@@SpectralLumo It can only be good. Not for cover corp though lol
If IRyS comes on Trash Taste and goes full YabaiRyS then hope for Yagoo's dream has truly died and I'm all here for it.
Wait what is YabaiRys?
@@jeppyjep well for context, Yabai translates to meaning Scary, or Dangerous(might be confusing it with Yabe, my Japanese is rocky at best and I'm going mostly by what I see from others when they use It)
And IRyS, well-
For someone who's Essentially "hope", some of her things don't leave people very hopeful that her words are "good"-
Aka, she says some kinda scary things. Does them too, without meaning to alot of the time. It earned her the nickname YabaIRyS, cause it mixes both Yabai and her name-
TL;DR It's just mixing a Japanese word for scary with her name.
I just watched the first Calli episode the other day and the difference between her in this episode and that one is like night and day. When she first debuted she felt kind of like she had to like. put on this act the whole time with like a certain cadence of her voice and it kind of felt like she was walking on eggshells a lot, but now it feels like she's a lot more comfortable and is able to do it with less thought put into the way she's saying things. like shes still very much playing a character but it feels like shes been able to mold it more around herself it's really cool to see
Joey: "Certified BBC Employee"
Connor: Oh No...
Garnt and Mori: *unfazed*
Love to see Calli on Trash Taste, the energy of the bois+Grim Reaper is outstanding.
Calli is a delight. what a great personality! I've never even watched a Vtuber before so it was a little new to me but I would love to see her on the show again.
Welcome to the rabbit-hole.
Damn, that episode was the one that finally pushed me into the rabbit hole of hololive, and I'm so grateful for that. I'm so excited for her return.
Edit: this one was a blast as well, and I'm so happy seeing calli comfortable around the boys. Another banger episode.
Mori must actually have mad gains holding that mic up for 2 hours straight
It'd be cool to see a vtuber outside hololive and how they experienced things.
if mouse does happen ity will be a long time Trash taste only has on peeple currently living in japan not someone via webcam
They need to be physically present in the studio. I think.
My brain literally shot out currents when Calli was talking about passing on vtuber advice from a "senpai", I realize her words have stuck with me

I love the way he laughs hysterically
