It's scary how easy someone can walk up to your kid(s) and convince them to go with them. Kids need to be educated a lot more so real kidnappings don't occur, I hope this video can spread awareness!

Ironically, when a child grows up around people who are loving and caring, that child will likely be LESS aware of the dangers that strangers can pose-because they’re used to seeing adults as loving and caring.

Not always necessarily true.. My nephew is my dad's only grand child. My dad had 8 kids. So my nephew has been brought up as our king. However all my brothers and sisters really emphasise safety awareness. We do go about over board with it but he's precious to us. ❤️

I don't think there's much basis to support that, and is presumably based on assumptions.
Kids growing up in a safe environment are much more timid/wary on average, as they haven't been exposed to the same things. They're also much more likely to be educated on safety.
Conversely those with a rough upbringing may be somewhat numb to normally stressful situations, while also more desperate for attention/perceived care, and may be used to being put under the care of people that aren't well known to the family.
As an adult, I've consistently found kids from rougher households to often be overly friendly to the point of it being uncomfortable for me. When I moved into my house, a kid kept following around my father and I, despite trying to gently dissuade him from doing so. The kid was clearly from a rougher family.
Similarly a former neighbours kid(and to a somewhat lesser extent his siblings) would always talk to me unprompted, and want me to help with things. I barely saw their mother, who also barely spoke to me.
I found out later that the mother was using drugs, and that her kids had several different fathers.
      There were also other examples.
Kids from stable households are still friendly, but more careful, and much more often with their parents or at minimum their friends.
Gangs target young people from unstable households(to be new members) for similar reasons, they're vulnerable. I'd always suspected this, but confirmed it when I picked up a hitchhiker who was a former gang member.

I like this type of content because it brings awareness to the parents to teach their kids more about the dangers and not just to rely on that the school teaches them, yes they might teach not to follow strangers but not enough that the kids remember you have to be consistent with them as they are young and might easily forget.

      @DoubleMonoLR ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@4minutesavedme Those numbers are thrown around a lot, but I think reports are conflating two different statistics.
About 70,000 are abducted by *one of the parents*(such as after a divorce), which is very different than a stranger.
Kidnappings by strangers are estimated by Chinese officials as 10,000, the US state department estimates 20,000 in China. Obviously still very high numbers, but much lower than 70,000.

This is terrifying, because what it means is that the sweet, innocent and trusting kids are the ones who get taken advantage of. But that is exactly one of the most important things a parent must do, to raise their children to be adults who trust and care for each other in a world that is often not so. This is a thin line, and I appreciate the parents who have to do this almost impossible task.

this shows how important it is to teach children about dangers! my mom always told me the exact same things used in the video, like „i know your parents, i’m an uncle/auntie, i knew you since you were this little, i even held you, your mom told me to pick you up, i have toys/games/candy at home, wanna come over?“ etc.
all the parents were confident that their child will not go with him, but it‘s very easy to gain children’s trust and make them believe! you can see that even the elder kids will fall for it, not just the younger ones.

I feel like a reason kids often go with the stranger and accept it even if they don’t recognise them is because kids are told to always listen to adults and not to talk back. They don’t want to get in trouble for falsely accusing them of being a bad person.

I kinda want to point out that the last girl had the advantage of having technology to call her mom to confirm whether it's true or not or to tell her mom she might be in danger. The other kids (although also easily influenced because they're younger), only had access to the information they were told by the guy and their own memory which is unreliable.
I know parents feel reluctant to give their children technology but this case really shows how it could have become a lifesaver to call for help. Bonus if you can see their location with it.
It's also really important to tell kids the plan ahead of time, tell them who is authorized to get them and make sure the kid is familiar with them, enough to immediately recognize them.

I had lots of anxiety (I still do) and would never go anywhere without one of my parents. In this situation I probably would have just stayed there and cried until my mum came back. Sometimes when I was a kid my mum would have an emergency and would send someone else to pick me up from school, but whenever that happened she would phone the school and get them to tell me so I knew it was safe to go with them.

This is the terrifying truth in a lot of countries and scenarios. I saw an America social experiment where a man used a puppy to do it, all the children left with him.
No one ever thinks their child will leave with a stranger but so, so many of them will. They're taught to respect older people and listen to them, even when it makes them uncomfortable.
So, so important to really make it clear to your child what they should do if something like this happens and they don't have to follow strangers just cause they tell them to.

Kids actually have a strong sense of their feelings, I'm sure they went with you because you didn't have a malicious aura around you. Like when people feel awkward or uneasy talking to someone they just met. But then again they are children if it wasn't you they were talking to that would be very dangerous.

It is so scary the lengths that these predators will go through to get your child. A common one now that they are using is to lure your child away saying their puppy got loose and will show the child a leash in their hands and ask if they can help them find it and begins to tell the child all about the puppy and will pull up a picture on their phone of a puppy saying they need the child's help and then lead them away. Over here in the States the police say the number one mistake is telling the child to "look out for strangers" it puts a scary image in the child's head of a mean person when the bad person could easily be a family member, friend, etc. The child is busy looking out for "bad person" and does not realize that they are the bad person. It is horrible the lengths they will do to try and take your child.

Kids don't know. They're kids. That's why parents need to be very careful in teaching them awareness

As crianças são muito inocentes e indefesas. Independente da inteligência do filho, os Pais devem ficar atentos.

The kids live in a safe environment. Thus, their safety awareness are low. Can't take it for granted though.
