Congratulations! It only took man 100+ years to think, “Gee! If I want to make a flying machine, maybe I should look at how birds do it!”
The only thing I would change is to have horizontal tail feathers only, and make the tail rotate a bit.

And also - for "better controllability" they use a "controlled thrust vector". In any "drones" and other similar "models" this is expressed in a variable pitch of the propeller (both positive and negative) and even in a variable position of the propeller in two axes!

I'd imagine this technology would be favored in the military over quadcopter drone designs

You tell those "British scientists" there that what they came up with is called "variable geometry of the bearing planes". And they invented it in the 60-70s of the LAST CENTURY!

Yeah, I think they are just using this knowledge to further develop drones for more specific & safer to operate scenarios.

His wish is a few years to late. This technology has already been designed into next gen secret craft. I've seen them on their test flights through this area which has several high-tech sites with secret satilite detection super computer systems.

You know what the difference is, when some secret company developing such technology without patent, because they dont want to show the world their technique, to a university that develop this stuff? The University publish their research and the company cant make money because everyone will know about the technology thanks to universities.

Gosh that's what I call silly design. ++And just before calling me stupid hater please provide me with tech specs of this plain: chances are it would be topped by existing toy plains

Not as agile as a 3D rc plane.
