Based on you checking the armour % difference at 42:50 I'm assuming you don't know how the armour calculation works, and thought you might be interested in knowing. Effectively, every point of armour reduces your damage taken such that it's as though your had that % more health. i.e. if an enemy deals 10 damage and you have 100 health, then you die in 10 hits. If you then got 10 armour, that reduces the incoming damage such that you effectively have 10% extra health, so it would now take 11 hits to kill you. Some specific numbers make it easier to see this. e.g. at 100 armour you take 50% less damage, which is similar to having twice as much health, since +100 armour is +100% effective health, and at 200 armour you take 66.66% less damage, since taking only 1/3 of the damage is like having 3 times as much (+200%) health. An interesting thing about this is that it means, that while it looks like (if you only look at the damage reduction number) armour has diminishing returns, it actually doesn't! I hope I've explained that well, and sorry if you did already know. Great videos!
@@sk8sheep24 Ahh thank you for this, I had a pretty good understanding on how armor works, but there’s some nuances here that are cool to know. I was mainly just checking to see the damage resistance change in those higher numbers. But I like how you explained it, that explanation also helps me explain to people why having armor makes most of your healing better
That looked super fun, gg! Wukong is my least played character, so I will start playing him more to get a nightmare run clear. Would love to know if you'd recommend this or some other build for someone who wasn't played him much? I'm not sure how easy or hard it will be to get that parry timing down :D
@@marijapizdarija7781 Thank you! Getting the parry down can be tricky, I’d recommend trying like 10 minutes where you completely focus on the parrying, maybe take stone monkey and try to kill everything with parries to get the timing down. Other than that I’d suggest taking airbender + focused strikes + thunderstorm. With enough power damage increases this build destroys the game and keeps you intangible for a long time
i've noticed that mantra of balance in yang stance makes stone monkey worse since SM deals % of the blocked dmg and MoB weakens enemies. what other harmful non-obvious interactions between talents you can think of besides attack talents overlapping each other?
@@pistoletikov Similar effects with sparkling shield on Beowulf but if you set the modifier that makes enemies deal more damage to you sparkling shield becomes even better. The other one isn’t the same but explosive rats just being worse for the rat build because of stimulant vibes and freezing trap is funny to me
This looks fun. But then I try it and get 2 tapped by an orc trying to parry lol. The parry is a lot harder than it looks here. It's one I have most fun doing though. Trying to see how many things I can parry. Then you mess up once and get destroyed haha. I noticed you were in the blue side (yin? yang?) a lot. I tend to go into the attack more than the blue because of the lack of damage that comes out usually. I'll only use it to activate a talent, get some armor to preactivate the attack side or to I'm trying to heal. I'd like to see you do a few more Kong builds. He has some really cool stuff!!!
funny thing with how I unlocked the hidden skin, all of my boss kills was from sacred seal (special makes an AoE explosion). What happens is I forget that I have sacred seal when I activate the special and when the boss is at low health that's when I transform, the sacred seal activates and kills it. So maybe it's not strictly from the transformation's last hit, it just has to be in transformation when the killing blow happens.
Hey, i recently bought this game and have been enjoying it a lot. I just got my first nightmare victory on melusine, and after watching many of your videos, now i feel like i want to take on 5 negative modifiers. I noticed from watching some older videos, like from around 5 months ago that some of the items are different but most noticeably that grimoire rewards are a lot less. Is the game generally harder now because things got nerfed? Is 5 negative modifiers still feasible without insane luck?
@@user-sy8on2lg6z Haha best of luck, 5 negative modifiers does become a lot harder and some of those challenges have took 15+ tries depending on the character. I think the game is harder overall, I did all my challenge runs right before 1.0 when the game was relatively similar so it wasn’t too different. It’s feasible and the amount of luck you’ll need will depend on the modifiers for sure but they’re possible, I think my video is going to be one with Carmilla
Thanks for the Wukong video. For me the best build for him is kamehameha build. Everything else just feels too fragile and too dependent on hitting oarry
Another sick build, she didn't stand a chance. I'm just a little sad about the anti-synergies between some of his attack talents. With Beowulf, you can Fiery Slash as part of the combo, but Stick Twirl blocks it, feels off.
@@torpor8652 Completely agree, I feel like stick twirl should just replace whatever attack you would have been at in the combo and let you continue from there. Almost never saw celestial pillar work because of it
I'm trying to practice the defense build…. How do you make it so you don’t take damage? I'll be hitting the defense successfully over and over during a mass attack then they still get a hit from another angel it feels like but still is successful defense?
