- This video shows the progress of the first train through Stow on the Borders Railway. I have missed out the track laying in between train moves this will feature in a later and longer video as I did manage to get some close up views of the machine.
nice to see cant wait to come home and see this railway, I have pictures of a recovery train in the early 70's lifting track in this area. What a turn around. Good vids as always
We laid 1296 meters of track a day, a full load each day
How do they gett the curve in the track? Presumably the sections of track on the train are straight.
What length of rail is laid in one hour? How far apart are the sleepers? I am amazed!
They laid 1100metre of single track per day (ie a single shift). I think this is the quantity of rail held on each train. the sleeper were positioned in advance.
