@jluchette Diz's rds for Canibus, Iron and Danny can stand up against ANYONE. Very few performances are at THAT level... Mooks 3 for Roc, Lux vs Hollow, that's really the only situations where I see Diz' Canibus rounds resulting in a loss. But Diz vs Lux would be a fire battle.
I WILL give you this tho: Diz always chokes on URL, so we wouldn't GET that Canibus Diz vs Lux, unless they battled on KOTD

Diz at his best here... where he mixes aggression with humour, it creates more dynamic range. Only spitting aggression creates a monotone performance. Another great example of Diz at his best is against NoCando

Once you’ve been watching battle rap for a while, you’ll realize why he’s battled everyone everywhere, yet isn’t in the goat conversation.

I've been watching battle rap for damn near 15 years lol Diz is incredible, but you're right, he's not in most people's GOAT conversation. He's not in my top 5, but I don't think anyone's done as much for battle rap as Dizaster.

This is Diz at his finest.
Diz has had one really good performance in his career, against Iron. Solomon could smoke Diz, but he was just getting back into the game at that time. The Iron that showed up against Nitty? Forget it; Diz has never had a performance close to that level.
In fact, I forget the last time Diz beat any good rappers.
He got smoked by Hollow in one round, realized it, got furious and… you know what happened.
He lost to Frak & admitted it (biased judges), he lost to Danny, he lost to Tay Roc… who has he beaten since Iron?

Apart from 2 or 3 people in there, the crowd actually fucked with Diz heavy from the jump. I'm not sure why there was so much discussion about them "not wanting to fuck with Diz". It was literally two people that talked shit. My cousin was at the event and he said most people in there couldn't wait to hear his rounds and thought he was dope.

random thought but a real cool video to do would be Diz vs Daylyt, but not in the traditional way. It'd be like their perception of the other in a more storytelling type way and they each get one round. Both of them rap really good so I think it would be real nice. And of course they respect each other, so they'll bring their best without totally killing each other. Ergo a classic.
Diz took the battle but honestly Swave’s first round is probably one of my all time favorites.

Diz was much more engrossing back then because he polarised his style with aggression and comedy, which created a greater dynamic range. Even his gun bars are tongue in cheek which was a pisstake to the east coast rappers at the time. Since then diz tried to make his whole delivery serious which takes away the whole diz. Another good example of diz at his best is against nocando.

He's still got some bars, but he gets thrown off so easily now...when you look back at this battle he was smooth and didn't let shit throw him off. He was able to freestyle his way out of it and still sound smooth. He just can't seem to do that anymore
