this style of video is exactly what i need. no nonsense, just sincerely helpful information. you manage to keep things concise while also elaborating enough to make things understandable. wonderful!
Ahh its refreshing to watch a good, clear, concise and to the point tips/tutorial that is not full of video footage where the video author is just bragging about how good they think they are and don't tell you anything. As a "soon to purchase" viewer, I found your video content extremely useful, an excellent tutorial, thank you
What is not being said in this video is this video is enhanced by Topaz Ai video enhancer with this device its not possible to get this kind of raw footage, buyers be warned
Great information and straight to the point. I just bought a Insta360 X4 and it had been a headache to figure out but your videos have helped a lot. Getting easier every day. I will try out the low light situation soon here vlogging from Mexico/Belize.
Thank you for the tutorial! I got the Insta360 X4 a couple of weeks ago and I am amazed by how easy it is to create a video with its 360 shots. A couple of years ago I had the GoPro Max, which was a great 360 camera, but editing video with it was a real pain. I'm happy to see that the X4 is also capable of good-looking low light videos. I might be able to combine the X4 footage with my AcePro footage.
Thanks for the video. It's wild to me that they don't sell an add on light accessory. I am new to this camera and thought it'd be better than it is in the dark.
Thank you very much! I'm probably going to buy an X4 soon and your video is very helpful for teaching me how to optimize its settings. I'm sure I will need to play with the settings and learn myself, but you gave me a good starting point. Keep up!
You make great videos and your instructions are very clear. Well done! I wonder what is the EV value for low light situation? Should leave it at zero or -0.30?
I'm using on my plane cockpit dash for front and pilot view. The view back into the cockpit is very dark and unusable. suggestions ? love the videos thanks
Can you recommend a gimbal for the X4? I think it would benefit a lot from a gimbal in low light. Ideally a gimbal that can be mounted on the end of a long invisible selfy stick, or includes a long selfy stick.
Hi, manual exposure - just like explained in this video - you just have to choose the field of view you like best - for real estate choose for example Dewarp
I'm curious, the Active HDR mode is only when there is low and bright light at the same time. What if there is fast movement that transits from low to bright and low again in fast-constant sequence, how would it perform?
I found your recommendation of 25FPS at 1/50 shutter speed (shutter speed exactly twice the frame rate "rule") suboptimal. Increasing the FPS to 50 while keeping the shutter speed at 1/50 s gave me higher quality, higher bitrate results. I see no reason why the shutter speed should be double the FPS. I did not see any increased blurryness, or more noise or less bright picture when doubling to FPS to match the shutter speed 1:1. Quite the oppsite! The only downside is the bigger file size. I think you should revise your recommendation! Because at least with the current firmware matching the FPS to the shutter speed 1:1 is better.
i’m struggling so much to get nice quality motorcycle ride video’s in low light i tried these settings but the footage seems a bit stretched or something? i already tried so many settings. please help if someone knows good settings for me. where i ride it is most of the ride very dark or a few small dim lights.😢
Good tutorial. Excellent actually, so thumbs up from me. Unfortunately, and IMO this wasn't emphasized enough, the suggested settings are not suitable for an action camera so X4 is still useless in low light for that purpose.
I'm using it to record indoor ice hockey. The speed of the game is faster. If I shoot in 25fps. Should I set the shuttle speed faster than 2x? Say 4x for 1/100?
No - in my opinion a 2x shutter speed gives you natural motion blur - if the shutter speed is higher fast movements will lead to a strange look - at least when shooting in 25fps
Good Video and very helpful. Thanks a lot. But you say that you set the frame rate to 25 and your examples are at 30fps. Your examples have different settings as you explaination. 1/50 shutter at 30fps is totally fine and I also recommend this in EU countries. In US also 30fps and shutter to 1/60. Always 30fps because 90% of displays are using 60Hz. And iPhones for example are too stupid to change to 50Hz for 25fps videos. But I never tried to lower the resolution and use Vivid mode. Thank for this tip. I take longer shots and I let the ISO and white balance at Auto. The light situation can change quickly. 5:26 is totally fine but 5 minutes later it can become too dark. I dont like that the X2 in this mode can only change ISO in 2x times steps. 200, 400, 800... So the image becomes suddelny brighter. Hope the X4 does it better 7:20 let me hope. I highy recommend to activate AI noise reduction in the Insta 360 Studio. Its quite good.
I think it is your responsibility to mention if you have used any ai video enhancers on this video because I don't believe those videos are raw and anyone who buys x4 expecting this outcome will be severely disappointed.

The best channel I have found for my insta360 X4, fantastic👏👏👏
You gave me all my answers, thank you! Btw love the accent 😉

Frame rate explanation and resolution when reframing info have been very useful in my case. Thanks and keep it up!
every low-light video I can find always shows examples with tons of light lol... guess I'm out of luck being out in the woods.
Did you try one thats what i need it for
@ yeah I have one. Still learning it and trying to optimize.
@@wildfoodoutdoors any luck in the woods ? We shoot paranormal stuff been on thw fence about it
@@travisconway9059 it's mediocre at best but I suppose better than nothing? We need a 360 cam version of the Sony A7S3 :-P
@wildfoodoutdoors thanks for the update! That would be nice, the dji action 5 pro has been pretty decent at night

Extremely helpful!
Hey great video! Thanks for the info. I’m just starting out making videos on my bike and your video was very helpful!
As always, your recommendations are much appreciated. Thank you.

Very helpful. Subbed. New insta360x4 owner.
Thank you your video is absolutely awesome, great accent btw.

Thanks mate! And greetings from Italy!

Hello, very good video & tips that change of “standard” videos on insta360. Congrats
thank you. This helped me a lot.
Thanks for he video man 👍🏻👍🏻
This will be useful. Thank you!
Great
Thank you for your tips.
Great I'll use your ideas
I want to use one for sunrise photos which can be pretty dark.
Not good quality at night
if i just use it for walking over thr shoulder vlog, is it fine to use 1/100 shutter speed? it should minimize the jitter in shakes right?
yes, 1/100 should be fine
What settings do you recommend to shoot indoor real estate 360?
Hi, manual exposure - just like explained in this video - you just have to choose the field of view you like best - for real estate choose for example Dewarp
Best one!!
Action 5 pro vs x4 for its stabilzier jittery on low light?

Should lead to better results - but be aware that active HDR is not made for low light/indoors as it can lead to more noise

is this worth to buy insta360 one rs-1 inch just for night recording?
Has anyone tried to photograph the Northern Lights with the x4? If so what settings worked out the best?
Now I understand about taking videos at low light or night time!
Excellent video. Sending you a big thank you from Canada for all your tips 😊

Hi - yes I shoot all my videos for YT in 30fps and didn't want to mix framerates. In the US you could use 24fps.
how about the EV
If you set everything manually it's not available - if you set ISO Max you could try a slightly negative value
There are a lot of contradictions, once you said 200 iso for low light, then at another point you say iso 800.??? Very confused now
From 200 you can start seeing the noise but over 800 it gets really bad - so that is my limit
for me quality still is not good enough night shots and really low light. i just do not thing these cameras or tech is there yet
Amazing❤❤❤
Can i get a pin 😂😂😂

Hi - no, I never use any ai video enhancers
Unfortunately, my insta360 x4 takes terrible video 😭😭
Please follow his guidelines and check whether its still bad
Not for me
