wow how cool is that shes come a long was from that dusty field where you rescued her all those years ago ,i almose shed a tear of joy ! THIS IS WHAT PRESERVES OUR AUTOMOTIVE HERITAGE my hats off to my friend dan!
you have a bad Bendix drive on the starter and that is why it slips out.you can most likely get those separate as i have before myself.glad to see you rebuilt the original 327!!
I kinda like the part where I'm putting stuff together, finally get to give it a try and I have to figure out why she won't kick over.Sometimes I hate it when I'm looking at every damn thing and I forgot the coil wire. She sure sounds great though.Especially for an initial fire up.I just realized, that engine was put to bed when I was two years old.
accelerator pump you can test it's operation by looking down the primary barrels with the engine off then work the throttle and see if it squirts fuel when the throttle is worked.very simple way to check and i think it works by the way it responds when it is running,it will cough and likely backfire due to the lean condition and lack of velocity for the carb to work properly.
SUPERIMPOSE at 1:44 spinning script that starts out small, then SPIRALS bigger and bigger, then STOP, with script upside up when it takes up half the the screen, saying "Original 327 to 63 Impala is a runner! First start since 1977!"
I really like the old 327 motors. Maybe you can use the solenoid on some other starter someday. Accelerator may have dried out and it will get wet and swell back up again. It just about idled then. It may be a little tight and need to be broke in.
Awesome, although l think the $50 motor deserves a rebuild and to back into something at some point... it did yeoman's work for you the short time you had it.in the 63
im still wondering why it has 283 power pack heads on it ... even if its a 250 horse ,,, it should have single humps ... but not the pyramid like the power pack heads... which those are power pack heads no doubt ... sure this is original engine? ... im guessing its a 327 ... u rebuilt it .. haha... but still not sure about the power pack heads ... 58 cc chambers and lawnmower valves... hahaha ... maybe these heads are original .. but i know there mostly 283 ...

its alive sounds strong can wait to see it rolling on it old 327 !!! whats the tally with the machine shop ???
Are you using old fashion oil with ZDDP zinc. :-)

Hey! There’s moths in that old car
c 'est magnifique
Needs a new starter drive, huh? Just the drive not the starter, also called a Bendix spring.
I've always believed that you're not supposed to fire a new engine unless you could break in the cam at first start?? Sounds good, though.
great vid dan----check out the 327 im building
im ready to see it go down the road
Been there before!
yes!
no those r the right heads the 250 horse came with those
The Bendix in the starter is bad. That 327 sounds strong and it wants to run.
sounds to me like a weak bendix in the starter,,its kicking out too soon
she sounds good , put a bendex on that starter then you,ll have it

It has 202 Fuelly Heads ...That car will roast any mustang on the road just how it sits
(( 327 )) good stuff !!!!!
Man I can tell your exited it sounds awesome I love it
