Definitely sounds better than the original does. I never cared for the original track when I was younger, but the X track was decent in my opinion. You just made it even better. We're another track closer to Streets and Aztec! 🤟
Yeah I was quite reluctant to start working on it tbh, glad it's out of the way now though. Yeah im looking forward to Streets, especially the X track which I feel may give me a bit of trouble 😆 Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts!
Now this is a pleasant surprise, as you said earlier that you intended on putting this track off until later since you didn't like it as much. I'm glad you ended up doing this one next, as I like these coming out in their respective order. Though not my favourite track, it's still one that I think is pretty nice and atmospheric. The X version feels pretty pumped up, and it's a total missed opportunity that Rare didn't program a music change once the meeting with Trevelyan ended and the timer appeared. Nice work as always, I'm really looking forward to your take on Control Room.
Hey man, you commenting is a pleasant surprise 😅, how've you been? Yeah i totally agree with that, it would have been a perfect spot for the X track to play. I found out recently that due to limitations, each level could only be assigned 2 music tracks. Most levels consist of their main music track and a secondary track, which is mainly used for ambient sounds. The secondary track used on Statue weirdly enough is the end bit that plays when Bond is escorted out of the gates. I find that strange though cause that section of music is already included in the Statue track, just before the first orchesrtal stab. Anyway, thanks as always for listening and commenting, i appreciate it. 😊
Everytime I open YT and I see a new video from you I’m always soooo hyped. Especially this one since it’s one of my favorite soundtrack from the game. Excellent work, as always 😎
Thanks! I somehow got a copyright strike for the intro, it says its apparently the same intro as a song called Once Upon a Dream by Lana Del Ray. Even though I created the drone myself in a program called Serum 🤔🤔
I'm surprised everyone hates this one, it's definitely one of my favourites. I don't know music theory well enough to know what's wrong with it. Maybe it was made 'wrong' on purpose to suit the tone of the story and the creepy atmosphere of that level.
@alex_mcclay I grew to like this track a little bit when remaking it. I think for me it was always the brass in the middle section, it just sounds so high pitched and jarring. Also the combination of notes used for the chords at the start, but I suppose it works for the feel of the level.
Yeah I oddly have liked this track. Perhaps because it is different yet still fits the level it's for. Come to think of it, I dunno what my 'least' favourite is.
Maybe the tweeting birds in Jungle? 😆 Yeah I think this track differs from the rest as it is more focused on the strings and brass. I do like how epic the chorus section sounds though. Thanks as always for listening.
@@mattspence1337 Jungle is so weird since it seems like Rare actually put together a track for it but just didn't use it, except for multiplayer? Odd design choice.
@@SayVandelay yeah, I listened to that a few days ago. Maybe they decided it played better without music, which is a total shame for the composers as its a great track.
@@mattspence1337 I actually like both jungle the actual song (and x) as well as the choice to not go with music at all. The 'quietness' of the jungle while enemies and drone guns wait to ambush you is kinda neat. I agree with their decision to not have music on that level, song just didn't fit the theme of the level. It's a good track don't get me wrong but not for that level.
@@Peachrocks5 see, I feel again that it's just a case of what we're used to. We're used to playing Jungle and hearing nothing but birds tweeting, cause that's what we remember the first time we ever played the level and didn't know any different. I think Rare did make the right choice to just have ambient sounds for this level, however I would like to play it with the original track they created.
Statue is my least favorite soundtrack of the 20 levels. It's just too slow in my opinion, the notes are all wacky and weird sounding. I can certainly this remaster is very well done, I do like that little eerie, ambience intro, it's just kind of hard to sit and listen to because.... well... it's Statue. I do like how the drums and percussion sounds like someone is hitting them as they possibly can as if there one hit away from breaking the instrument. I can't wait for Archives and I ESPECIALLY can't wait for Streets.
Thanks man! yeah you're right about the notes sounding all wacky, I think that's what I struggled the most with. It's the high pitched brass parts for me, they just sound like an accordion or some shit 😆 I used a mixture of Toms and Timpani for this track and I'll most likely apply that same technique for Streets. Thanks as always for listening man!
That's one of my favorites in the game actually! Glad you gave it the attention it deserves :)
5:30 gives me chills

Damn this is the part where all the guys come out from behind the statue and you're like "oh shit" this music always scared me when I was a kid lol

This is awesome!! Keep it up, man!!
Thankyou!! I appreciate it.
Intense one, awesome!!
Amazing as always, liked the intro bit too.

What exactly is that...meat on the left side of James' gun?
An extension of his mouth I believe 🤔
Probably his hand holding the gun
This is like back in the day when you would see a picture that looks like a butt but it's really a lamp or the inside of an elbow...

That is ridiculous and horrible critique of music and you should never be aloud to be a music critic. You don't know what you are talking about.
