personally i think veteran is the strongest class, shout is just the best ability in the game, if you have 3 vets in one team it's literraly impossible to lose for semi competent players
Shout and Smite are both abilities that will massively increase your win rate if running with anything but absolute top tier players. If you have great players Smite falls off a bit but Shout stays one of the best abilities available to everyone.
@@prich0382 Yeah, there are better ways to CC enemies than smite, but none of them are as simple. With smite just right click then left click and everything in front of you is now stunned. Trauma staff requires aiming and knowing how it will knock things around.
Didn’t mention Field Improv which is an incredibly powerful support talent which one veteran in a game needs to be taking (it doesn’t benefit from multiple people with it). A lot of people assume it’s a lot worse than it actually is because the wording doesn’t specify it affects EVERY health and ammo pack your team drops, not solely the ones you drop yourself. The extra grenade resupplies alone are incredibly powerful, but the boost to med pack heal rate and being able to cleanse corruption also makes them even better. Also, Marksman’s Focus isn’t bad at all, you’re just using it with the wrong weapons. Crab walking around with camouflage and plinking dudes with a helbore las, kantrael las, or vigilant autogun is terrible. I get why people assume that’s how it should be used considering everything else on the left side veteran tree encourages you to use long range, precision weapons, but Focus is best utilized with automatic, high fire rate weapons like the recon las or infantry autogun. Spray into a horde at head height and in 2 seconds you’ll be at 10 stacks which you can then turn your +75% ranged finesse strength onto a horde of elites that you can burn through in a second. Take long range assassin to make that +112.5% and they melt even quicker. The high fire rate is also giving you constant headshots, constantly giving you the 3 second grace period, 6 seconds on a kill, so you almost never need to worry about losing stacks when in a fight, and if you do you can get them back incredibly quickly.
Just got off work and got on darktide to play some Veteran, and your video popped up first in my recommendations haha. Weapon specialist with the double barrel is so much fun. I also recommend Bolt pistol, it’s a good mix of the shotgun and revolver, lets you special snipe and is great for hordes with lethal proximity blessing and its cleave
@@MisterEtide All good, I was surprised myself and thought to test it. It would've been absolutely insane if it actually gave you 100% crits for 5 seconds.
Running kantrael with stance and focus has got to be one of the most fun builds I've played, but never have I had to tunnelvision more than this build, I can ignore and dance around stray fodder, but I gotta have full confidence the team will deal with the hordes while I clear the room of ranged enemies, otherwise its melee time 😅
I think Vets smoke grenades should be buffed, they're pretty underwhelming and lack versatility. Sure if the game director spams massive squads of gunners and shooters they can come in clutch, but if the game just keeps throwing hordes of melee units they're completely useless. I think they could add Holy Incense to the Smoke grenades and they can rename the Smoke Grenades to 'Holy Smokes'. The incense would debuff the enemies by slowing their movement speed by 40% and making their attacks 20% weaker, this would make the Smoke grenade effective against all enemy types and not just ranged.
I'd argue smoke grenade is terrible even against a squad of gunners. Not only they keep shooting through the smoke, it also spreads those gunner out in a wide arc which is just terrible for any build and demand more resource to get through them. And while a team who knows how to ping reliably can mitigate the team blindness debuff somewhat, it still does make surprise pincer bursters or mutant+some insta dmg combo that much more deadly against your team. I think smoke nade really needs either poison to justify the team debuff against melee heavy map or a wide area of brief stun that's shortened version of zealot stun nade. Or maybe some niche like cleansing poison cloud in its area, wouldn't that be interesting?
Keep their heads down is fantastic my dude if using an auto gun, you can stop a room of gunners from shooting you so quick, highly under rated, way better than the talent that stops you from being supressed
Played with 3 Psykers Auric Maelstorm yesterday, it was a cake walk. Perma Bubbleshield, single target dps and aoe warp flames. ALL THE TIME. They could have yoloed it with only 3 players with out any effort or difficulty.
Yeah voice of command is good and all but the cadian executioner stance voice lines are too good to not want to spam that ability, I can clear damnations just as well, while shout makes it easier it doesn't feel like zealot picking anything other than shroud PSA: for vets trying the on overwatch penance, go malice low intensity with voice of command, as long as you don't take HEALTH damage you're fine
I have a much bigger problem with the Recon Lasgun than I do with the Plasma gun. The Plasma is strong, absolutely, but nothing is as fun crushing as a Recon scything down EVERYTHING and I'm pretty sure trash prefers the Recon over the Plasma because with the Plasma you need to "hit" a target, whereas with the Recon you just waft over the general area and get rewarded with 1,000,000 burn stacks and a scrolling kill feed.
Disagreed on marksman focus, you don't need to stay still and node that gives you stacks while standing is not that useful, stack cap increase is far better. If you primarily use your ranged weapon and your aim is not too bad you can play as usual and constantly have 10+ stacks and with 10% stamina per kill you just never stop, IMO that is the most powerful keystone
Please refure to the Toughness when it's Gold as "Gold Toughness". Gold Toughness is broken as it means you cannot suffer any damage bleedthough to yoir Health.
Voice of Command is essentially just Victor’s Witch Hunter Captains ability from V2, and I’m all here for that. Veteran has felt great since coming back and switching things up. My favorite by far.
@@d.w.s.robinson9487 Yeah it is also that, I guess you could say. I know the zealot is much more Victor pilled, and the veteran is reflective of Marcus in some way. I feel it’s sort of a mix of them both. Sort of how Ogryn feels like Marcus and Bardin to me.
Are you sure covering fire procs for the one using it? I recall having tried it before but it doesn't restore toughness for the player only their allies.
Veteran was hit and miss before Unlocked and Loaded due to their heavy reliance on weapon passives and Blessing being critical in benefiting from their builds, in fact the masteries depend on the Blessings to work. So before the update the reason Veterans were so hit and miss was because most Veteran players never had the correct weapon stats for their builds, with getting the correct weapon stats + blessing was a hellish Gatcha grind, often taking 70+ rolls and crafting, preying that the second blessing is the correct one and tier 4, with the best possible crafted power rating usually being 490. Now, the only RNG being max stat distribution and base curios, the grind went from weeks to now just days. So, the update took what was a class before that was inferior to Zealot to now being a class where there are several good builds which all hold up.
Extremely simple, its the only class I see scaling depending of its difficulty. Demo team, tactical awarness, toughness regen on elite/specialist kills, etc etc. Lots of enemies? Lets get 2-3 nade procs from demo team and just spam nades to get more nade. Want toughness? I killed 4 specials so I stacked 2x golden toughness, etc. This class is just stupidly broken to the point it trivializes the game sometimes x). Vet's bonkers bruv
TLDR; voice of command
the entire dev team must be veteran mains
"IF YOU CAN BREATH, YOU CAN KILL" 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Psyker = highest damage potential
Zealot = best melee/toughness regen
Ogryn = best stagger/most health
Vet = best versatility
Ogryn best self-sustain defense via shield slab or talents..
Psyker has arguably better stagger than Ogryn with Trauma Staff
And yet you still see threads complaining that there are too many talents in the vet tree, as if options are a bad thing.
@@amagideon1 right, classic argument of making the veteran less versatile instead of giving the other 3 classes more options in their play styles
