- We are on the home stretch now!! Only the wheat to go and we are finished seeding for the year.
There is still the issue of wally and how slow it is taking to fill!!
Search Tomsbrookfarm on twitter to stay up to date with what's going on with the farm!
Having spent my younger years working on farms it good to see one thing hasnt changed...the farm dogs will hitch a ride every where.. Love yours...
I’m from corn country. We have 2 70ft field cultivators so an 80-100ft seeder I can picture. By far the craziest thing I had no idea existed before TH-cam is the Bourgault cart. It’s impressive a tractor will pull that seeder and cart. It looks like you would need a dozer to pull it.
Great video, good luck with your season.
Thanks 🙏 retired Victorian farmer
Read where they are using glass milled into like fertiliser to help with controlling salt intrusions here in Australia
hopefully a bit more smooth sailing with the wheat JH!
Loving the videos, thanks for taking the time. Just a thought - the seed treatment may be a factor in your flow issues through the bin. Always seems to vary year to year and even silo to silo. Also the build up/calibration challenges with the seeding bin may also be a clue that it’s a bit sticky!
Well done with the video. Can’t believe you are looking at the end of planting already some of us in South Australia are only just getting started. What name did you go with for the new case and where did the name Wally come from for the truck. 👍
Hi from Cork in Ireland, what part of Australia are you, have been to Darwin, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth
We are in the Esperance region of Western Australia
So you're picking up a new case for your heavy haulin. Will you keep the big John Deere for other use on the farm or trade it with the case or sell it?
Art has been traded in on the new row track so when that gets on farm Art will go to its new home with them
Was your workshop a shearing shed back in the day?did you ever have stock?
Yes it was, and back at its peak Dad was running 30 000 sheep!
it’s insane that were just south of you and only just started conola😳 what did you pick for the rowtracks name?
We haven't got a name for the rowtrack yet, that will happen when it gets on farm
With the calibration you need to do, is that done through mobile data? Or is it a bluetooth thing? Do you get could internet and mobile coverage?
Its done through the screens wifi
How do u distribute your hectares ? How many of the 4500 ha is canola, barley and wheat ?
Basically we split it into thirds as best as the blocks allow and do it that way
