That was such a lovely message at the beginning of the video, thank you from someone who desperately wanted a second baby but didn’t dare take the risk after our daughter being born at 27 weeks due to pre eclampsia. Since she was born 13 years ago I’ve struggled with pregnancy announcements etc but I think I’m getting past that now, I’m so grateful for the one child we do have and I’m genuinely so very happy for you and Dom ❤ You’re going to be amazing parents!

Congratulations…. As an old pensioner now and a granny, I would like to add that I am so glad there wasn’t trackers and tests to buy at the chemist in my day. It must be quite stressful and anxiety provoking. This might be an unpopular viewpoint but the excitement, curiosity of waiting and the doctor ringing with the news (four days after taking a ‘wee sample’ to the surgery was magical.
I know what you mean as I was exactly like Kay when I was trying to get pregnant (my son will be 14 in a few days’ time), I was constantly checking my temperature and using ovulation sticks and counting the days until I could take (several) pregnancy tests. It’s brilliant how we have progressed to have these tools but you are right - it just aided the anxiety! I totally understand how Kay feels and so happy for them both to get this news 🎉🤗

On one hand it must heighten the chances of conception but it really does remove the magic and ultimate ‘surprise’ of tiny feet making their way into your world. It’s fast pace now. Folk panic if they don’t get a return text within minutes 🤣

Me too. Our doctor wanted you to miss two periods then he would give you a test. This meant with all three of my babies I was at least 10 weeks before it was official! Of course by then we knew but didn’t tell anyone until around four months. I guess life was just simpler then but the joy was the same. Like you Kay, I always wanted to be a Mum, and then to be a Granny, indescribable. Lots of love and luck xx
Do you know what I totally agree with this comment … in my humble opinion unless there is an absolute need to track and use ovulation trackers women should understand their bodies and trust it. Yes I was lucky with 4 wonderful babies but each time I trusted the natural process and felt less anxious and stressed and yes it took over a year to eventually get pregnant with our first … congratulations however on you wonderful news ❤
You are blessed me and my husband could never have our own children at the age of 36 I had a full hysterectomy because I had endometriosis. I am now 56 and have two beautiful cats Dolly & LuLu who we call the kids. I am absolutely delighted for you both. X

I really appreciate your message at the beginning. My husband and I ttc for 11years. So many heartbreaks, so many failed tests, fertility treatments and so much pain, I finally became pregnant with our miracle child. My husband was diagnosed with cancer when I was 8 months pregnant and I later had to have a full hysterectomy at the young age of 34. I always thought I’d have two children but now, I understand why I had one. I’m very, very blessed. I’m so happy for you and Dom. Congratulations to you both. xxx
I also want to give you some unsolicited advice I wish I'd heard: it's okay if you find motherhood really challenging at first, even if you've always wanted to be a mother. It doesn't mean you're a bad mum or don't love your baby, a lot of factors can just make those newborn days tough. So incredibly worth it though. You're going to love being a mum 🧡
Honestly, I don't see why any woman would want to get pregnant. Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on a woman's body, and it is very dangerous, and it has a lot of risks, and a pregnancy lasts 9 months. Also, childbirth is very painful. And also, raising children is very hard. Personally, I think being childfree would be a lot better than having children. It's been proven that single childfree women are happier. Studies prove single, childless, women are the HAPPIEST demographic. Women are the happiest when single and focused on themselves.
Just enjoy every moment Kay and Dom! I was lucky I conceived immediately but my pregnancy was horrible and I had my daughter at 22 weeks weighing 1040kgs. My medical care was first class and she's now 39!!! You will make wonderful parents and I'm so happy for you. Sending much love and hugs xx

I got pregnant with my first child so easily but I felt the heartbreak every month for a year when trying for my second child. Fortunately, I lived next door to the woman who taught Lamaze class and I asked her when the best time to get pregnant was. She said 2 weeks from the first day if your period. We waited without having any activity, to test her theory and just like that we were pregnant! My 2 sons are now 33 and 30. I can’t wait to see this journey with you and Dom. This baby is so lucky to have you 2 for parents. 💕💙
I couldn’t conceive my second. Blessed with what I have. I’m 40 now so I feel the baby days are behind us... next stop Grandchildren lol 😆 but not yet!!!! 😅.

I cried with both happiness for you and sadness for me. I've seen the pregnant word on a clear blue test at age 29 or 30 (cant remember exactly) only to result in an ectopic and this is after a termination (hope I'm not judged) at age 18. I'm now nearly 36 and no babies sadly, currently single after splitting with long term bf of 10 years so can't imagine ever having a baby now. It was something I too had always wanted so much and it's taken a lot to accept that I don't think it will happen now. Its been hard but I think I've accepted it as much as possible. However, who knows how I feel when I get to 40 or reach menopause. It might trigger a different reaction. However, I want to say I am so happy for you and Dom and so looking forward to sharing your journey, which just proves how far I have come with healing as before I would just avoid anything baby related and to some extent still do. Congratulations to you and Dom. I am one of those ladies who had this heartache you mentioned. O suffered from endometriosis and had 8 losses. One was a pair of twins. We were unable to adopt because of financial reasons. Mother's day is so hard for me and my x husband. His mother passed away the day before mother's day. Which made it worse. I had a hysterectomy and the endometriosis was a blessing. When they biopsies my uterus they found a small area of cervical cancer. I didn't need further treatment because it was so small.
Congratulations Kay and Dom, you will make great parents!. My eldest daughter is now 44 but like you I was desperate to be a mum and had been thinking about it for years. We were teenagers when we got married so my husband wanted to wait for a few years but it was so magical when it happened. We waited until we were both 23 and I can still remember the excitement of making that call to the doctors surgery to get the news - no self testing in those days!! You have wonderful times ahead of you. ❤

I had been a bit concerned about you in your recent videos as you had seemed a bit anxious / out of breath. Perhaps that was the excitement in you that you were trying to contain 😊 btw Kay, dont feel like you are not allowed to celebrate just because myself and others have had struggles with pregnancy etc. You are always so thoughtful which is always appreciated but like someone else on here said, dont feel you have to temper your own excitement. Congratulations ♥ I can imagine how overwhelming all of it must have been...or still is :) My husband and I tried to have a baby 13 years ago but soon learned we could not have one without medical help. That was the moment for me NOT to follow that path anymore. It just did not feel right. Now I am 46 years old and although I feel a bit...sort of "melancholic" (sorry, I´m not a native English speaker/writer) to watch videos like this, I never regretted my decision. I still think, if I should have had I child, I would have got one. But someone or something just had other plans with me. Anyway, I wish you and your little family ALL the best in the world ♥

I took one of those tests with plus or minus and the vertical line was only half way up. My daughter is 26 now. I called her "half a plus " for a while. Congratulations! I'm really happy for you

I suffered from infertility for over 10 years and then had IVF in 2021 and was extremely lucky to welcome my rainbow baby boy in March 22 and I now have a 1 year old which still doesn’t feel real to me after so many years of trying. Congratulations to you and Dom. I am one of those ladies who had this heartache you mentioned. O suffered from endometriosis and had 8 losses. One was a pair of twins. We were unable to adopt because of financial reasons. Mother's day is so hard for me and my x husband. His mother passed away the day before mother's day. Which made it worse. I had a hysterectomy and the endometriosis was a blessing. When they biopsies my uterus they found a small area of cervical cancer. I didn't need further treatment because it was so small.

Congratulations Kay and Dom, you will make great parents!. My eldest daughter is now 44 but like you I was desperate to be a mum and had been thinking about it for years. We were teenagers when we got married so my husband wanted to wait for a few years but it was so magical when it happened. We waited until we were both 23 and I can still remember the excitement of making that call to the doctors surgery to get the news - no self testing in those days!! You have wonderful times ahead of you. ❤

It took my husband and I 8 months to get pregnant with our first and he’s now 19 months 💙 I’m currently 15+5 with my second(and I cried all the way through this video lol)! Due date is Nov 1st so our little ones might be born around the same time! 🥰 I’m so happy for you and pray you have a easy labor and delivery.

I had been a bit concerned about you in your recent videos as you had seemed a bit anxious / out of breath. Perhaps that was the excitement in you that you were trying to contain 😊 btw Kay, dont feel like you are not allowed to celebrate just because myself and others have had struggles with pregnancy etc. You are always so thoughtful which is always appreciated but like someone else on here said, dont feel you have to temper your own excitement. You are allowed to be excited and enjoy your journey ❤ also, its lovely that myself and others feel comfortable to share our stories in the comments. Congratulations ♥ I can imagine how overwhelming all of it must have been...or still is :) My husband and I tried to have a baby 13 years ago but soon learned we could not have one without medical help. That was the moment for me NOT to follow that path anymore. It just did not feel right. Now I am 46 years old and although I feel a bit...sort of "melancholic" (sorry, I´m not a native English speaker/writer) to watch videos like this, I never regretted my decision. I still think, if I should have had I child, I would have got one. But someone or something just had other plans with me. Anyway, I wish you and your little family ALL the best in the world ♥

It took us about one year to conceive and it was the longest days, weeks, months I could ever think of. But I know many individuals, couples or poly teams have to wait a lot longer or have to cope with not getting pregnant/having Kids. Thank you, Kay, that you show that „we“ mums (to be) see you ❤

I took one of those tests with plus or minus and the vertical line was only half way up. My daughter is 26 now. I called her "half a plus " for a while. Congratulations! I'm really happy for you

It brought back memories of all those feelings that I hadn't thought about in a long time. My first baby is 26 now.
